South Dearborn approves turf

Thanks to a generous community member who is covering five-hundred thousand dollars of the estimated nine-hundred and fifteen thousand total cost, South Dearborn will be breaking ground on a new turf multi-purpose field by the end of next week.  The hope is to have it finished by homecoming in mid-September.  They will look to move one home game prior to homecoming.  This will coincide with multiple improvements taking place indoors and outdoors at the high school on the main campus over the next year.

Glad for the Coach and kids -  but that school system is a mess!  
 

They need to figure out how they can stop declining enrollment from populating other nearby schools - maybe this is a step in the right direction.

Congrats to the Knights, I know this has been a long time coming, that the athletic administration has been working hard on.

= certain members have financial interest in businesses impacted by potential school closures.  
 

= administration and school board aren’t closely aligned and often times not on the same page (recent basketball coach hiring).

= parents choosing to send their kids to other districts given the mess.
 

Glad to see this done though for their Coach who has worked his tail off trying to build something and community support.
