boilerfan87 Posted February 28, 2025 Posted February 28, 2025 Official statement from East Washington School Corporation This is a great move for their athletic department as a whole. The reason they haven't done it in the past is because of the fear of the loss of the gates from other MSC team. Undoubtedly, they will still play most MSC schools in most sports. Plus, I think they'll find some great rivalries and gates by playing in the SAC (Borden, Henryville, Lanesville, Crothersville, New Washington and South Central (Elizabeth)). However, this move will benefit football the most. They can play Clarksville, PLAC teams and any of the MSC teams they still wish to play. I'm sure they'll maintain the West Washington and Salem games since they are county rivals. Good luck to the Musketeers. 1 Quote
WWFan Posted February 28, 2025 Author Posted February 28, 2025 So if football doesn't get better and the gate for football gets worse (I'd assume alot of MSC will be chomping to replace or maybe add Madison to conference) do they consider dropping football? Thats the question to me. Scheduling could become even more difficult. Not alot of teams around here have a ton of flexibility in thier rosters. Quote
btownqbcoach1 Posted February 28, 2025 Posted February 28, 2025 Madison was added to the MSC last night 1 Quote

I think there's a good chance NH would keep them... there is 2-3 games.... Crawford would play them, undoubtedly. Henryville is getting football and would play them, Switzerland Co will. Trinity might have football soon. Clarksville, Perry Central, Mitchell... is Brown Co full of conference games? Maybe Scottsburg wants to keep them long term? That's quite a few options. 1 Quote

btownqbcoach1 Posted March 12, 2025 Posted March 12, 2025 Week 3 Brownstown at New Albany this year. 2yr contract, so we get NA at home in 2026. 1 Quote
WWFan Posted March 12, 2025 Author Posted March 12, 2025 New Albany starts the season with 1A/2A Providence 1A/2A Indianapolis Lutheran and 2A Brownstown. All 3 great programs but seems odd for a 5A school. Quote

I can't explain how well that kid practiced for 4 years. 12-time letter winner after track this coming spring, as well. I was lucky enough to be his position coach for his last two years in HS. He is also a tremendous mentor to our young players. Quote
