N.I.C. Week # 3 - 1/3 point of regular season
ArmyVet80 replied to ASJCPUMA's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Penn's DB's had no response for the Irish WR's #17, #3 and #8 for Cathedral. #17 at one point seemed to be the only WR that the Irish wanted to throw to and everyone in the stadium knew it (except for the Penn coaching staff). From what I saw, there weren't any adjustments made to slow the passing game down. DB's were giving 8–10 yard cushions for the Irish WR's the entire night. Absolutely no press with over-the-top help and that cost Penn. The Irish QB (Danny O'Neil) has a good arm and is mobile (I believe his dad played at Penn years back) and showed why he is going to Colorado. Penn's QB had a decent game but didn't seem too comfortable in the pocket. It looks like he injured his right ankle which definitely hindered his ability to rollout and pass. There were some drops and overthrows to the receivers too. After a muffed snap on a punt, Penn got the ball at the Cathedral 17 or so yard line and got to the 4 yard line before being stopped on 4th down. On a positive note, Penn did hold down the Irish rushing game. Most of their rushing yards came in the 3rd/4th quarters when there was a running clock. The thing that jumped out at me the most was that Penn seemed like they wanted to be anywhere but that field. Coming onto the field at the very beginning there was no intensity or emotions. It was like they were zombie walking. Cathedral punched them in the mouth, and they never recovered. These were just my observations of the game. -
Cathedral: 35 Penn: 6 Final
-
Cathedral: 35 Penn: 6 (pat missed) 4:50 left in the game Special teams scores for the Kingsmen on a nice punt return for the TD.
-
Cathedral: 35 Penn: 0 Start of the 4th quarter. Running clock made the 3rd quarter go very quickly.
-
Cathedral: 35 Penn: 0 Halftime. Absolutely no intensity/emotion from Penn. Almost as if they were defeated by walking on to the field. Odd to see compared to the Penn teams of the past.
-
Cathedral: 35 Penn: 0 30 seconds until halftime.
-
Cathedral: 28 Penn: 0 9:19 left in the 2nd quarter. Long pass for the Irish touchdown.
-

-
Cathedral: 21 Penn: 0 3:34 left 1st qt.

Unless Andrean holds onto the lead they had.. Then the topic header may need to be changed.. 🤔 -

Glad to get my donation in. Sorry it was a bit later than normal. I've been traveling for work a lot lately and it slipped my mind between flights, hotels, rental cars, etc.. 🤦♂️

Glad to help keep things going. 👍👍

Naming Stadiums/Fields after Coaches?
ArmyVet80 replied to hhpatriot04's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
It is actually still Tupper Field at Steele Stadium. There is a plaque on the southside of the home stands/seating before you go into the tunnel. 👍 -
I hope that Marian's defense is tougher than last year. If I'm not mistaken, Marian was only giving up 4 or 6 points a game leading up to Chatard visiting and then 45-0 happened. From the video I have watched of both teams, I would say a 24-21 or 28-24 type of game is probably closer than 42-14. Marian's offense looks more explosive this year compared to last year though.

We had two boxers that passed away last year due to different cancers. Marciano was 14.5 years and Elphaba was 11 years old. We now have Hinkle who is 1 years old and Stitch who is between 5-7 years old. Hinkle and Stitch are both boxers and both came from separate puppy mills. Stitch is our newest addition. If I can ever get the two of them relaxed for more than 2 minutes I'll try and get a picture of them. 🤣🤣

Got my 💵💵 in. Meant to do it the other day but we rescued a Boxer pup from a puppy mill. She is now living the good life. 👍
