  3. https://news4sanantonio.com/news/nation-world/nbc-10-i-team-cop-retires-after-22-years-on-sick-leave What a huge waste, all funded by local taxpayers. And this is one of those prime examples of how businesses are more efficient than governments. Year one of a sick leave that it’s never going to end a business would have worked out a way to pay this guy off to leave or let him retire early to at least lower their payouts. Businesses want to be generous, but they are not endless founds of entitlement cash. The problem with unions, especially public sector unions like this cop was with, is that they teach their members to think of everything like an entitlement. I bet he spent those 22 years telling himself that it was his <insert deity here> given right to that paycheck. The police force should care for its members that were hurt on the job, but a staph infection is not an injury. Maybe he can’t walk his beat anymore, but his brain is still good (if he ever had one) so he could have gotten a new job doing something else where he didn’t need to walk a beat.
  4. WL teachers: Share school referendum money with charters? Outrageous, legislators: https://www.jconline.com/story/news/opinion/letters/2020/03/09/wl-teachers-share-school-referendum-money-charters-outrageous-legislators/5007114002/ Amusing how those who want to just perpetuate the status quo get all up in arms when real, valid alternatives come to exist. If the co-presidents of the West Lafayette Education Association really cared about "Hoosier students deserving a premier education" they would realize that one size does not fit all, and charter schools exists so that parents like themselves can choose.

  6. https://www.theamericanconservative.com/articles/corruption-in-u-s-military-academies-is-harming-our-national-security/ I'm shocked, shocked I tell you to learn about this type of corruption and deceit at the U.S. military academies. What can be done to correct it?
  7. https://www.indystar.com/story/news/politics/2020/03/08/home-rule-indianapolis-local-government-indiana-general-assembly-clash/4951136002/ Government is more effective the more local it is; not controlled by afar.
  8. Flu has killed 20,000 Americans so far this season, including 136 children, CDC says: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/flu-deaths-20000-americans-this-season-including-136-children-cdc/ Where is the fear from the MSM? Where are the States of Emergency?
  9. lol, I don't click on those link-bait URL's. Just found the picture/caption humorous in context with the current discussion of "public Ivy's".

  13. Reduce the size, scope, and power of the federal government by 25% across the board, including every department, office, bureau, service, etc. If the federal government had less power/influence over Americans everyday lives then the avarice and corruption, including $40k stipends for office furniture, would be reduced as well.
  14. What is your point? That Mr. Trump is a rampant racist because Mr. Thurmond was also? Talk about false equivalency.................
  15. Indiana confirms first presumptive positive case of coronavirus: https://www.jconline.com/story/news/health/2020/03/06/coronavirus-indiana-cases/4973737002/ I had plans to attend an event in the Indianapolis metro area over the weekend. Guess I will have to cancel. Time to buy some more seeds................
  16. https://mises.org/wire/every-tax-needs-expiration-date Bingo. We the people have given the federal government virtually unlimited power over our lives, and the U.S. is in slow decline because of it.
  17. Tri-West students walk out in protest over fired school employee: https://www.theindychannel.com/news/working-for-you/tri-west-students-walk-out-in-protest-over-fired-school-employee Once students were back inside, a group got their bags and walked out, planning to stand outside door 5 in support of Pyatt, the door he often monitored. Students said there were teachers blocking exits in an effort to stop the walkout. The students also said once they left they were not allowed back inside. One student said she forgot her car keys inside and she was not allowed to go inside to get them. "We really respect Mr. Pyatt and we don't think he should have gotten fired," one student said. "I kind of think our school has not been the same and we want it to go back to normal. It's just kind of sad walking into a classroom and feeling like you can't learn because teachers and administrators are so focused on one problem." A communications consultant paid by the district told RTV6 that, "Students need to be in school and can return. All absences are considered unexcused." Students outside the school said they don't know what else to do and the situation has started to impact their day-to-day life at school and their ability to learn. "It's just been really disturbing to see how it has changed our school and changes peoples' lives entirely," a student said. Another student said her message to the school district's leaders is to be more transparent. "You have to stop sweeping things under the rug," she said. "You have to start doing things that are better for students and this community." Sounds like the citizens of Eel River, Middle, and Union townships and the towns of North Salem, Pittsboro and Lizton need to vote out the current school board, replace the administration, and basically start over.
