    Your weak ankles were not the fault of grass fields. Nice try. Why yes, because factors like field conditions and weather should be mitigated as much as possible. Everything should be the same. Every game, ever time. Because winning is everything. So sayeth the adults who run the game played by children.

    Yeah, if you factor in the goal of government schools getting out of the extracurricular athletics business entirely, yes. In the short team, no. I like grass fields better than fake fields. There are more out there than you think. Or you could have 2-3 micro-gazillionaires share the job for free.

    Because it makes the playing surface that much more homogenous, and not a factor in the contest. With grass fields a lot of times you have that 'quirk', like the small hole/divot near a hash on the 30-yard line that the home team knows about but the visiting team, maybe not. And a decent groundskeeper can hide that quirk, in addition to making sure the grass length is "just right". Advantage: Home team.

    True. This thread was started as yet more "navel gazing" about how great turf was. You wanted to sweep anything even slightly negative about the product under the rug. Only pretty picture after pretty picture of new turfs fields would suffice.

    Yeah, it does bother me. As I have stated before such expensive extravagances have no place in a game played by children. At least Rodgers is probably set to get millions of guaranteed money.
