  1. With what is going on Covid-related and changes many schools are probably going to make in the days ahead, let's all just sit back and hope the state finals take place and any fans getting to attend will be icing on the cake!
  2. Thanks for the information, that makes sense and to be honest I get confused on how point system works. Speaking of which - what is Chatards situation? I would assume when they win 3A again this year it is without question they will be in 4A for 2021-? season(s)? Thanks again for insight, good topic discussion!
  3. Confirmed via IndyStar today. Game at Arlington.
  4. Cathedral has been in 6A before - I think after running off 5 straight 5A championships. Isn't that the whole purpose of the success factor? If we win state this year and next year, we will be in 6A regardless who wants us there or not. Most fans and alumni I know are 50/50 split wanting to stay in 6A long-term. We play the best talented teams (as many 6A Indiana schools) that want to play us in the regular reason so that would never change. As far as 'self designate as a 6A program' I don't think schools can do that even if they wanted too. Irish 49 Whiteland 21
  5. Don't sell yourself short Judge, you're a tremendous slouch.
  6. Whiteland had one loss this year which was to Decatur Central. Doesn't mean anything now, and agree will be a good game but no doubt Irish are not looking past Friday whatsoever.
  7. Arlington is such a great home-field advantage for many reasons but playing at Tech does make logical sense given we are mid-November and all it takes is a few days of rain/cold weather to make that grass playing surface like stone. Weather this week looks fantastic anyway but will be a cold one Friday night!!
  8. Irish defense is peaking at the absolute perfect time. Both teams won at home on Friday - so since Cathedral is raked higher do they keep home-field advantage (Arlington) next two games before State? I asked several people after the game Friday and no one had the same answer.
  9. Irish 49 DC 21 5,000 capacity allowed - 3,500 for Irish and 1,500 for visitors. Got tickets last night!
  10. I don't think anyone comes close to giving Chatard a game, they are peaking now and at the right time.
  11. I noticed several CG and Cathedral players actually embraced each other / quick 'man hug' after the game last Friday which was awesome show of sportsmanship given the circumstances of the game in addition to the Covid world we live in and will continue to live in until a proven vaccine. I am surprised no one brought this up yet but I am only on this forum a couple times a week!
  12. Center Grove's facilities - especially Football - are best in Indiana hands-down. I could not imagine what the game atmosphere would have have been like last night if Covid never existed, but for sure it would have been 8,000+ strong and college-like feel.
  13. Our punter did struggle tonight, and I do back your comment that CG has #1 offensive team in the MIC so there is a chance they COULD go 70-80 yards even with no time outs if we punt vs. turning it over on the 50 which we did. Again...on the road, you take those chances as that is what good football programs do. I can assure you that having a 'perfect record' is not the goal of Cathedral this year.
  14. That game lived up to the hype pretty good. Great game, live up to the hype reasonably well. I loved the play calling going for it on 4th and 1 and loved Peebs said on postgame he would do it again. CG had no time outs left, on the 50 YD...so if we punt they would be on 25 yard line or better with 1:18 to play so reasonable gamble. Plus this is not playoff game where the season was on the line and we were on the road against arguably top 1 or 2 team in the state so 9 out of 10 times you go for that one yard to seal the win when you can. Great game and atmosphere. On to playoffs!
  15. I agree with that as well. 5A will be interesting with potential north match-ups but nothing can be taken for granted as there are lots of games to be played after tonight for both teams. My best prediction is what ever team gets beat tonight their players, coaches and fans will get over it quickly.
  16. The team that comes out on top tonight will no doubt have undue pressure on themselves to blow through the playoffs with expectation of winning state title in convincing fashion, whomever they face. The team that falls short tonight has two weeks to forget about the loss and focus ‘all-in’ at next opponent one at a time. Assuming the game lives up to the hype, a shout out to both AD’s to get next year’s rematch on the schedule for week one. Hey that photo is five weeks old! Our line is bigger and stronger since that photo was taken!
  17. Irish 35 Trojans 28 Going to be COLD! Stay healthy both teams!
  18. This is worthy of a separate post as this history and discussion is interesting. I think he originally committed to IU. Then changed mind and decommitted, signed with LSU. I am not sure what happened there, but know he again de-committed, and transferred to Notre Dame but then was benched as #3 QB, so that is when he transferred to Cincinnati? I recall he played lights-out first college game at UC and set all kinds of D1 records for first-game QB at college level but then got injured? I am pretty sure coming out of Columbus East he was #1 ranked QB in the nation.
  19. Gunner was absolute stud.
  20. Maxpreps has Cathedral ahead of Center Grove. It really does not matter, it is very clear these are the top two teams in Indiana so Friday's game will put the debate at rest. Gonna be a LONG week.
  21. I understand Johnson County is allowing 75% capacity at sports venues (as of this weekend). I am not sure of their stadium capacity but I figure from image below to be at least 7,000-8,000? Even if they allow 4,500 this thing will be a sellout once tickets are released so probably a moot point. I cannot imagine this game not being televised. And yes, with both teams with first week bye no way they don't play 'all-in' w/starters.
  22. I anticipate both CG and Irish will be playing reserves tonight entire second half, albeit a running clock.
  23. National rankings have Center Grove #14 and Irish #25 as of new poll released this morning. Maxpreps has Irish #1 and Center Grove #2 Saragin has Center Grove #1 and Irish #2 Agree need to get by Braves on Friday then we can really start talking about the showdown on 16th!
  24. When Chatard wins Class 3A again this year - will you guys move up to 4A next year per the reclassification / success factor? I think you guys certainly belong there and would prob win class 4A outright this year. Great win Trojans!
