Yet, we have the Mercy Rule in all playoff games, except the Finals. So, there is precedent for treating the Finals differently, the availability of technology aside.

And I would argue that the Finals should have the running clock as well. But you're right in regards to precedent. Still, after implementation, the first time a semistate game is decided by a questionable call prepare for an absolute uproar.

    Aaahh, the “slippery slope…”

In this case it is justified imo. When you have people screeching for replays in blowouts in August don't say I didn't warn you lol.

In all seriousness, at the very least, you'll have people that want replays for all playoff games. And if you allow for the finals I don't see the argument in not allowing for the entire tournament.

So by your logic Andrean is better than Lowell because they gave CP a close game even though Lowell beat them?  Don't be so butt hurt, I was just making a statement that CP dumping Andrean from their schedule is far more likely than dropping Lowell because:

    1. It's the state's oldest rivalry

    2. It's a huge gate Week 1 for the host team

    3. It's a natural geographic rival

Douchebag comments like yours are the reason most Region fans don't root for Andrean in the playoffs. Lastly, if you're going to use the "we're still playing card," Lowell might not be the program to use it on.

Have fun watching the rest of the playoffs!

On talent they have a big o-line and a QB. That’s it. There defense struggles against everyone till the offense can get separation and force a team into being 1 sided. You will see when crown point plays in regionals that they may not even score 10 points. Coaching wise they are good. But the talent that everyone things they have because they are undefeated is a farce. They are so simple it’s not funny. And again they are only undefeated because merrillville didn’t have there DC when they played there were no adjustments by merrillville. They proved crown point can’t contain anyone with good skill players. Crown point has to play flawless against good teams to win.

How are you all ginna feel when the WB leaves and they are back to winning 3? 4? Games? I’m telling you the team is a one man show. And other coaches after playing them are saying the same thing. Crown point will never consistently compete in the DAC. They get a year or two and then fall to bottom. But we will see! Come visit this next year!!

Been saying all year they are OVERRATTED and will get stomped

Except you were only saying that cause you were mad that Merrillville lost to them. I don't think CP is overrated as much as Carroll is just very good. Merrillville is much more overrated than the Dogs. I'll give CP a much better shot against Carroll then I'd give the Pirates against Snider.

  7. Not really a super interesting week but I'll share some thoughts:

    - Jeff barely made it past a middling LC team which makes me think that the Bronchos are still a step below the Duneland's best teams. Even though CP did not look good in the first half last week I'll take the Dogs by 3 TDs.

    - Merrillville will have a running clock to start the second half. Great season for Hammond Central winning 8 games and beating Morton twice but this is a huge mismatch.

    - Cheese-Valpo is obviously the matchup everyone is interested in. Chesterton has been on a roll the past few weeks whereas Valpo has flown under the radar pretty much all season. Both teams have physical defenses. Valpo's running game is a bit better but on the opposite side Chesterton's passing game is much better. It was a low-scoring slugfest the first game and I think we'll see another one on Friday. But I think Chesterton gets it done this time and clinches their first sectional in school history.

As a former Duneland player currently living in Noblesville I’m fully convinced Noblesville could have competed for the DAC title this year. Outside of Crown Point, the DAC is now a 5A Conference. Lake Central and Portage either don’t care or simply can’t figure out how to be very good at football again.

Cody is probably right that CP the team is likely very overrated. The coaching staff is fantastic you fool. Having huge lines, and that’s about it, doesn’t get you far post Duneland. Maybe I just jinxed that crap out of Carroll, but I don’t think Crown Point has enough talent to keep up with them. Crown Point is very methodical with no game breakers. I can easily see Carroll or a Hamilton County team countering with size and making life very difficult for the ‘Dogs.

I agree with basically everything said here. The Duneland is really down this year. I firmly believe Carroll is going to blow out CP in a couple weeks.

I think it's out of bounds for some to say that Carroll isn't on the same playing field as Indy's best this year considering they beat Penn by a larger margin than Cathedral did and Homestead by a larger margin than HSE did. Winning 35-7 was an eye opener, but fans in Indy seem to want to turn a blind eye to it. The Chargers have a lot to prove, I get it considering how Indy has dominated 6A.  Crown Point is really good and then the inevitable..............HSE/Westfield comes to town.

After watching CP/Portage last week and seeing what Carroll did to Penn, I'm taking the Chargers by 3 TDs over CP. They are the best team outside of the Donut. I'm interested to see how they stack up against whoever comes out of the other regional. But I've gotten my hopes up before...

I watched Andrean play Norwell and to be honest they didn’t play physical besides the beast Bowen. Norwell ran power trap play after play and ran it all over Andrean. Not saying will happen again but they definitely aren’t the team from last year at all. Norwell just beat CMA 27-14 which Judson blew out CMA, but that’s why we play the games. I think Laville is more physical teams and pulls out 3-5 point victory

Andrean has not played Norwell this season lmao.

  11. Just some thoughts on what I think are the more interesting games this week:

    - I'm taking Carroll by 14 over Penn. A good season for the Kingsmen and a step in the right direction in terms of reestablishing themselves, but I've maintained since midway through the season that I think Carroll is the best team outside of the Donut this year and that hasn't changed. I think they prove it in this game.

    - I think Norwell vs Concordia might be more interesting than expected. Wayne just took Columbia City to the limits last week and I can't get that out of my head. Was it an off night for CC or is the SAC just that much better than the NE8? If Norwell doesn't run away with this one we'll have our answer.

    - I think Luers is massively underrated at this point. Just a general statement really. I think they'll be playing in the semistate.

You said "largest classes" and "20 years." Largest classes includes class 5a. Snider won in 2015 and were a rain storm away from winning in 2016 as well. Penn was also locked in a close game in 2015 with Center Grove. Snider could have played with anyone in the state in 2004. So yeah, "most years." I get the overall message you're trying to convey though. Indy has been dominant.

Indiana has had two largest classes in that time span, that’s why I put it in plural. I was not referring to 5A since it’s been the second-highest class. But the north only winning one of those titles in 10 years further reinforces my point. Close is cool but this ain’t horseshoes or hand grenades.
