  1. They got waxed by Andrean that year then got thoroughly embarrassed by Hobart first round of sectionals. And that was their best season since the 80s…
  2. 1. Highly doubt it, even if 4A North has been extremely weak the past few years. 2. Maybe, but the chances of KV surpassing Lowell any time soon are slim to none. Not to play Debbie downer, but I don’t see this as a real game-changing move for KV. They’ve been mediocre at best for the past 30+ years. They have never had the talent to compete with Hobart, Lowell, or Andrean. Don’t see that changing. Their ceiling is 4th-best team in the NCC imo. But nice to see KK back in the Region.
  3. Your point holds, but I think the right coach can make up for some of this. Since Phil Mason took over at MC 6 years ago, they’ve won 3 regionals. They’re one of the smallest schools in 5A and while I’m not sure, I’d bet the house they’re over 50% free/reduced lunch.
  4. “Is taxation without representation fair? No. But it’s also not fair that I’m overweight and losing my hair.” Apply this logic to almost anything and you see how completely ridiculous it is lol. I get you were joking, but governing bodies making ridiculous regulations should be challenged, even if it’s something as frivolous as high school sports.
  5. If we’re going solely on last year I’d go: Merrillville Valpo City Chesterton CP Franklin LC LaPorte Call me a region homer, but the DAC is just a step above the mid state imo. Sagarin ratings for the past year support this as well.
  6. This is a top tier dad joke right here
  7. I remember them getting blown out by LC about 5 or so years ago in sectional play too. Either way, they’ve only proven they can beat whoever the DAC doormat is that year
  8. Both programs are unfortunately stuck in no man’s land in this regard. Too far for both the DAC and the larger Indy conferences. Don’t know how this would be solved other than for both teams to go independent (highly unlikely). Penn and Elkhart have a similar problem as well, a little too far from both the DAC and SAC. IMO the DAC has the best chance of up-ending Indy at some point, in large part because of the fact it is solely a 5/6A conference. 6A teams playing basically any team below 5A (obviously with some exceptions) is essentially a waste of a game.
  9. Are we to the point where the first team from outside the Indy donut that goes to LOS and wins will be immortalized in Indiana hs football lore forever? Like South Oak Cliff, the team that just broke the 50 year state title drought for inner city Dallas teams? Obviously not anywhere near that length of a drought, but right now the odds seem almost insurmountable for a team to actually pull that off.
  10. I saw Jeff is playing Michigan City next year. I’d say that’s some “real competition”. The Bronchos have really struggled with the Duneland’s top teams.
  11. Also grabbed Chesterton QB Chris Mullen, who I think is another steal for them. Good day for the Greyhounds
  12. My freshmen year at Andrean, at the beginning of the past decade, we had 35+ plus on the freshmen team (which was large but still around average). Now, they don’t even have a freshmen team. Now that’s just one school, but I think there’s undoubtedly been a drop in numbers across the board, just from what I’ve seen at the games I’ve been too.
  13. I saw Price the RB for Zionsville didn’t play last week. Anyone know if he’ll be good to go for this week?
  14. Wow…on the first play of the 2nd OT, Valpo fumbles another Philly Special attempt. Wolves recover. Kick a game winning FG on 4th. 31-28 Wolves, final, 2OT.
  15. Valpo with the INT…Vikings with the ball 35 seconds left
  16. Valpo hits on the Philly Special. PAT good. Knotted at 21 with 1:48 to play
  17. Valpo with a methodical drive, and Hayden Vineyard takes it in from 1 yd out. PAT good. 21-14 City over Valpo with 6:29 left in the game
  18. Omarion Hatch breaks a man’s ankles and takes it in from 20 out. PAT good. 21-7 City, 2:24 left 3Q
  19. Racion Anderson right up the gut on a 10 yard TD run. PAT good. 14-7 City, 7:32 left 3Q
  20. City and Valpo knotted at 7 at half. Vikings to get ball to start the second half. Story of the game so far is 3 City turnovers (2 picks, 1 fumble). The Wolves are lucky to be tied. We’ll see what happens here.
  21. City fumbles in Valpo territory, and the Vikings drive it down to score. PAT good. 7-7 3:04 left 2Q
