I'll know more after tonight . Who is WC? -
One problem here is the size of the class. A 24-team Class 6A would give eight teams a first round bye and just a four-game path t the title, right? I'd rather see the 32-team Class 6A stay as it is than give 6A teams byes. Class 5A shold be 64 teams. The first round byes should be in the enrollment-challenged Class 1A schools. They have many two-way players and very small rosters. Class 1A should be 32 teams and 5A should be 64.

This is very good stuff, Titan. Thank you very much. Everybody should read this. I didnt now know that high school kids were not REQUIRED to stay in school until they were 16. Reitz used to sit on 'Cole Mine Hill'? I love it.? -

I wont ever see it in person, Stax. I'm 98 1/2 years old . I'm busy every weekend 10 months a year. My car has a quarter of a million miles on it. I'm never getting there. Tell me about the Reitz Bowl. What YOU think not some prepared history. (and Stax, by the way, I went to Jasper for a Little League championship a generation ago. The game ended at about 10 and I made the mistake of driving west to US 41 instead of East back to I-65. Once I wandered through two-lane roads in the dark and the haze to US 41, I slogged back on one of the less driver friendly roads in the southern part of the state. 6 a.m. That's when I got back. I give a no thanks to US 41. If I ever get to the bottom of the state again, I'm going to find I-65 to come back.🥺 -
Reitz Bowl @ 100!

What I meant to say was 'Why was a giant football stadium, built in 1921 in a basketball state? 'the nearby Ohio" is what?. ....The Ohio River runs between Kentucky and Indiana? Again...5 hours..240 miles away. Never been there. How far are you from Louisville?. the Bowl looks like a small college stadium. Nobody up here can fill a 10,000-seat stadium The largest stadium up here is Merrillville, 7,200. Most schools are 2,000 to 5,000 How old are Reitz and Mater Dei?. Up here Lowell, Crown Point and Valparaiso go back to the 1890s. In the early 1900s, Lowell played Crown Point twice a season because< I believe, there was no one else to play. -

Solid 6.. almost all geographic rivals...Northwood-Northridge Marian-Mishawaka, Judson Knox, Concord-Jimtown Plymouth-Warsaw Elkhart-Penn is new but its big time. 46 does a good job on games -
Very true. You might as well maximize it for recruiting. I dont understand how social media folks make the money they do and I worry about outside influencers pitting players against coaches. But if this keeps college athletes in college for four or 5 years, I can see a benefit

Hanover Central to the NCC in 2023/24
oldunclemark replied to region's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
As I know you know, DT, Merrillville went through the same racial and demographic changes a few years earlier. It affected their baseball and softball teams, which were state class in the 1990s and are now at the bottom of the (DAC) conference. But it didnt affect the Merrillville football team, obviously. . Griffith can play with Lowell. They schedule them. They fit in the NCC. Thats where their tradition is. Everybody in the NCC will look up to Andrean when it comes to elite players but Griffith and Highland are so close they are almost the same place. . -

Agree or disagree?

Good question. Winning a lot obviously does not necessarily mean your kids get o the 'next level' It does at big schools but not at small ones. If you want to run a single wing misdirection offense to win in 1A or 2A, that has great value to the boys, the school and the community. Your guys may not be big or fast enough to play in college anyway. To win in 6A you have to run a college or pro style offense and the 'next level' will be within reach of some of your boys. But a coaches' basic job is to organize, teach and win.
