Over/Under 2.5.   Number of SAC teams playing in Indy next year on Thanksgiving weekend. I'll take the over. Luers in 2a (no one will stop them). Concordia in 3a (Chatard bumps up paving the way for the Cadets). Dwenger in 4a. Snider in 5a.

    5A North:

    In: Snider

    Out: Zionsville, Dwenger, Valpo

Really? Snider vs Cathedral for the state championship. Mark it down.

Concordia losses a ton of seniors

From the starters from the game on Saturday, Danville only returns 3 starters on offense.  Western Boone will likely be in the southern half of 3A, if the IHSAA doesn't screw it up again.  Gibson Southern has a Purdue recruit back at QB.  Lawrenceburg returns their QB, who threw for 2000 yards and ran for 1000.  Plus 2 of 3 leading receivers and 4 top tacklers.

Let’s hope they can keep the game within 40

Cathedral loses some very talented players, but they return the bulk of their team and have several capable playmakers in waiting.  They will be at least as good, and likely better, than they were this year.  They are a lock in 5A.

Same can be said for Roncalli.  This year was just the start for Roncalli.  They have had (and continue to have) a ton of talent coming up through the south deanery CYO schools recently.  They get a much larger majority of their CYO kids than the other deanery catholic schools.  I would throw Memorial in the mix as well, I hear they have a lot coming back next year too.  Unfortunately, Chatard won't even be in the conversation in 4A next year.

I think 3A goes to a public school next year.  Danville should be tough again, Lawrenceburg, Heritage Hills, West Lafayette are all solid contenders, but I think Gibson Southern makes the trip and takes home the crown with their stud QB leading the way.

I don't know enough about 1A or 2A to make an informed opinion, so I'm going to guess only 1 of those goes PP.

I'll take the under.  3 PP champs next year.

Danville (Along with GS, LB, etc) could return their entire team and not challenge Marian.  Will have to see how sectional 28 shakes out next year but top 5 teams in 3A were from the north in 3a this year.  South was a joke.

  4. Thx to Iowa for showing the way last summer and for Holcomb / Box combo.  I’ve now heard from 2/3 school administrations in our co that as long as we have teachers to sit in class rooms we will not shut down.  Proud to be a Hoosier.  We’ll have crowned fall / winter champions and will be watching spring sports when Illinois decides “out of an abundance of caution” to scrap spring football.

So, do you think that a person that holds one share of stock in ACME rockets and slingshots deserves the same dividend distribution as someone who holds a hundred shares?

Would you agree that the schools that you mention "take football more seriously", invest more in their football program(i.e. support, community buy in, amenities)?  Shouldn't they also receive a higher dividend.

Sons and daughters of millionaires get gifted huge sums of stock all the time and good for them ... But they also get taxed at 37%.

Any idea how these teams could be next year?

SA having Wanner, Schoch and younger summersett back will help a lot.. Not sure what their younger lineman are or other skilled guys besides them 3 i mentioned but seems they should be decent atleast

CC returns some dudes up front and some solid defensive guys, hear they got some nice sophomores. What will they potentially be like?

This was the year for SA.  If they’re in same sectional as Adams Central I doubt they make it out.  Jr class is talented but thin.  Talent pool Is pretty shallow after that.

I wasn't taught to look for excuses to why I can't succeed.  I don't teach my players or children to do that either...

Of course u dont teach kids to look for excuses.  It’s up to parents and administrators to insure a fair and balanced playing field.  The kids expect that when they step on the field.  Discussions as to how to make that happen are legitimate.  The success factor is a step in the right direction.  Probably could be improved a little.

No different than when the SEC steps in and forces companies to divest assets after mergers to insure one company doesn’t become or exploit a monopoly.

  8. Great game.  SA was shocked 1st half by speed of cc.  Big respect to SA coaches and players 2nd half ... given their schedule I didn’t think they would be able to mount a comeback.  Great heart / coaching.

i understand going for 2.  All of SA scores were pretty much deep balls.  OT 1st and 10 from the 10 is a different ball game.  CC was better up front.  Not dominate but better imo.  Hence I understand going for 2 to avoid OT.

    Don't quit your day job.

I won’t.  I was feeling pretty good about the prediction after first half.  Then Luers stalled on first drive 2nd half and it became a dogfight.  I was right in that WEBO offense was one dimensional but brother they can run the ball.  Great game.  Very entertaining.

Did I just not say that I believe I could support PP playing up a class.  Yes I did.   Do I think the Success Factor has done its job.   But if there is a mandate for the P/P to play up a class, because of the advantages that I have said are in play, I would support.    and would also like to see a reverse multiplier based upon free and reduced lunches.  Have not seen your take on that yet.

WIth Cathedral and Roncalli being in Class 5A with the playing up a class, can you support let's say the north/south divding line being I-70?  I have my reasons!  🙂

I have a pretty narrow focus.  When U look at 3a north over the last 2 yr cycle u see the same 3 teams (Concordia, Marian, Chatard) gobbling up sectional/regional/semi state titles and only Chatard will be affected by the success factor.  Any sort of action that would target PP schools wouldn’t fly.  Unfortunately the success factor is probably as good as we’re going to get despite it falling short of actually leveling the playing field.

Now that Chatard is gone Concordia and Marian will continue to rack up titles.  dominance is just shifted to another PP until Chatard comes back in 2 years.

Is that what he has been doing?  Dropped the Star several years ago.

Back in august he couldn’t shut up.

That single headline speaks to how consistently wrong he has been.
