I do not see Bellmont or Norwell willingly moving to the ACAC in all sports. They have a # of other sports that have long traditions in & are highly successful in the NE8 even though they are the 2 smallest schools in the conference.
I think an easy short term football fix for both conferences would have Bellmont take Southern Wells place in the ACAC in FB only for a few years & then re-evaluate where those programs are. Coach Hall is going to do a great job building the Bellmont program back up, but it is tough playing in the NE8 with the difference in enrollment numbers. He could build momentum by competing most weeks in ACAC & will get #s up by winning some games. You have better chance of getting kids out if they are confident that they can compete. Otherwise guys who should/could play multi-sports will unfortunately just focus on their favorite other sport.
The benefit to other NE8 schools is that they can pick up a game outside conference if they want a challenge for stronger teams (Penn vs EN) or the lower end teams can seek a winnable game.
Good post. The realignment would help the rebuild. Building a program is so tough when u only got 12 MS players coming out... then go take those 24 MS players up to East Noble and Leo who have 45 per grade on the sideline. Gotta find a stud 5th / 6th grade class and invest heavily in them. Build it up from the bottom. Not a short process.

I thought we were discussing New Haven football?

Harding MS and New Haven middle school feeds New Haven HS.

maconaquah is going to have to find someone else to give the ball to 50x a game.

Not sure I would agree with this. Do you have data to support?
Certainly population plays an important part. I would think baring outside factors (such as Ohio’s traditions) it would pretty much go by population order. Anyway you size it that puts ill, Mich, Ohio top 3 and Ind 4th. All indications are Ohio is #1, then Mich/ill (pick one). I think we all agree Ohio is 1st and Ky 5th. Except probably DT and Muda.🥴
Population
1. ill
2. ohio
3. michigan
all over 10m
4. in 7 m
5. Ky 5 m

No way Illinois is behind IN or MI. I’d go OH, IL, MI, IN, KY
Idk...I see 2 from in on top 25, 1 from ky.
Just now, Purdue Pete said:Idk...I see 2 from in on top 25, 1 from ky.
I know top 25 doesn’t represent the “state of the state” ... just a data point

how would u rank the overall play in the Surrounding states? I think I’d go Oh, in, mi, ill, ky.
Maybe mi > in
but why? Why is oh Hs football superior? Can we ever surpass them?

The trip to Jay Co isn’t much better than the trip to EN (for Norwell) but overall would be much better travel wise for parents and players (all sports MS and HS).
The argument that “playing up” leads to more tournament success is valid.
But then again 3A Norwell ran the 4A gauntlet this year in the NE8 and still got bounced by Concordia (who ran the 5A/6A gauntlet).
Once Norwell moves up to 4a next year the realignment starts to lose some appeal.

Habits learned this year will carry forward. ADs need to negotiate a cut from streaming services if they arent already. my butt will be in a seat but many enjoyed watching on their big screen.
Alternatively, there doesn’t seem to be a downside to printing money and giving it to any poorly managed ADs across the country. So... we got that going for us... which is nice.

The one explanation that I did not buy was that the ball was caught behind the LOS. I don’t think it was.
I think what may have been the consideration is that two other defenders were there to cover the guy at the point of the catch, and that the guy that Stoops picked was too far behind him (burnt). I am not firm on any of these. I will need to find a clip of the play to watch more.Agree ... the behind the LOS explanation was WEAK. The “pickee” was trailing by a few yards. If it was BBall stoops for sure would’ve been called for the foul.

That was the worst offensive pass interference no call I’ve ever seen. Shallow cross and bob stoops’ kid set a moving screen on the defender. Horrible.

NH v South Side was essentially opposite to Luers v South Side.
Luers had a very nice year and will make another run next year. And because of that the chirping starts ... happens with AC and SA every year as well. Was hoping NH v Pioneer and Delta v Eastbrook would’ve cured everyone of that.

It didn't benefit Snider by playing Penn before when they were a lot better. For Luers dropping Snider for Adams Central would be a waste of time for Luers, not trying to be arrogant. Maybe Leo or East Noble might help.
Maybe start with middle of the pack NE8 team like New Haven b4 calling out the upper tier. NH v Pioneer was essentially identical to Luers v Pioneer.

Carroll and Homestead were happy beating up on NHC for YEARS. The SAC was a step up for them. They’re fine getting 7-10 wins a season and starting the basketball season in time. Picking those two up was a win for the rest of the SAC. The other teams pick up two very good games and don’t have to travel at all. All the ADs are happy. Nothing will change. Post was hijacked. Let’s get back on track here.

I think I'd swap your 40 percent "coaching" and 20 percent "SES."
Arsenal Tech or Perry Merdian could bring in Nick Saban and they are not competing with Carmel or Center Grove anytime soon. Maybe if they gave him a few years, I'd change my mind.
As great as Eric Moore is, drop him in at Cloverdale and see how long it takes.
Vice versa, gimme the keys at Carmel and I could at least keep the train on the tracks...(I had an over 90 percent winning percentage on Super Tecmo Bowl in the 90s...)
If u were primarily using the Raiders u should’ve been a bit higher.

Well said. The Tax Rate that DT want to levy on the PPs of a 2.0 multiplier is the equivalent of a 80% Tax Rate. Does anyone think 80% is, shall I say it, fair?
We’ve got @brettlow (trump) arguing no one should pay income tax and @dt (aoc) arguing the merits of socialism.
Imo Tweaking the SF to a rolling 2 year accumulation period would be an appropriate step. See how it goes for few years.

I’m not that close to the subject but I wonder how or if Kevin O’Shea’s exit plays into the recent performance of the Lafayette area schools?

Not if you follow the law.
Not really
“The recipient of a gift does not pay tax on any gift valued at $11,000 or less, no matter if it is a boat, car, cash, or stock. This means you don't owe taxes at the time of the gift of the stock. When the recipient sells the stock, however, it is a taxable event.”
Just like the SF. Keep ur total points below 6 (or $11k) and no tax.

Bunch of variables. I’m not sure of the score or time left or his year.
If they’re down 10 with 2 minutes to go and he’s a senior then the Kid may have went rouge.
If he’s a junior and they’re down 10 or up 7 in the 3rd qtr ??????

He’ll be playing for Lane Kiffen in a couple years.
4 hours ago, Bonecrusher said:Anyone, (news media, kid's family, SJW's, etc.) that would honestly say the ref is ruining the kids life if he does file charges or other is kidding themselves. The player did that the minute he chose to leave the sidelines and rush the ref. He has to accept the consequences of his actions - a concept that is largely lost on kids in our society today.
Not just kids ... look around

Or drop success factor to 5 and make it a running / rolling 2 year accumulation.

Not sure this is really the utopian job u describe. NH has been playing even with Norwell and Dekalb over the last 3 years. The Jr class (seniors next year) is talented but the talent level is down after that. This year is going to be the norm for awhile going forward.
