Gibson Southern has been going out for big-time competition for several years now. Coach Hart has proven he will play anyone anywhere. This year's addition of Rochester IL shows to be another one of these matchups. Rochester has won state championships in 2010–2011, 2011–2012, 2012–2013, 2013–2014, 2014–2015, 2016–2017, 2017–2018, 2019–2020, and 2023–2024. The Rochester Rockets football team won their ninth state title in 2023, beating St. Laurence 59-38 in the Class 4A state championship game.

I would rather see folks who send their kids to a P/P get some sort of reduction in property tax. Voucher is just a French word the big wigs in Indy use to reduce their bill at (insert private school name here). Careful what you wish for....what "Charter School" will launch a business plan to accept kids from the only place where public schools are an issue (inner cities). School choice is smoke and mirrors. Here is what they will do: Once the inner city public kids have their school shut down but have these nice shiny vouchers in their hands...the Privates within driving distance will jack up the price enough that those vouchers won't cut it. Then golfing buddy of Senator "X" steps in with an inner city Charter School plan (A business) that will gladly accept those dollars and provide an even more crapy experience than they received at the public school. And it's funny how it's never mentioned that around the state of Indiana the rural publics are in the top 25% in the state....if what they are looking for is achievement why would they punish those who get it. The amount of funding publics are eligible for with regard to bonds for projects was cut yet again recently...rural schools use these bonds all the time to make their schools more "competitive and attractive". I am a Republican town councilman and I can tell you right now the Republicans in Indianapolis are going to ruin education in our state. Seems like a one size fits all narrative.

What a great legacy and a testament to what a culture change can do anywhere. Condolences to the Southridge Raider family and the family of Coach Brad Hanner.

The Soft Indiana Athletic Conference? Nah LOL

Let's frame it like this...if Memorial and Gibson Southern and Mater Dei can throw it around year after year....Jasper won't have an issue. To read this thread one would think the Jasper kids have some genetic defect that won't allow them to throw or catch a football. NC isn't like coaching at an Indiana P&P let's put it that way.

I'm guessing some great candidates....but this is an amazing hire that makes so much sense. Slam dunk if you ask me....I can't wait to see him tear the SIAC a new sphincter. I hope he was able to bring some guys along familiar with what he does in terms of staff.

I'm guessing our Wildcat friend took a peek at board meeting minutes.

I am guessing we will see Jasper at the Brownsburg team camp this year....I will definitely make the trip.
-
Also...I will add that I don't think Jasper has made any official announcement on who their next coach will be for the record.
-
I'll agree to that.....with the SIAC having at least one opening after the departure of Vincennes and the change at Jasper...things just got much more interesting in the area.

The "talent" conversation here is rubbish. Look for Derick to run things that look a lot like John and Nick. We do just fine here in the middle of the cornfield with very little talent and smaller enrollment in that style of offense. Jasper made a fantastic move and now they have two Hart kids in the building. This will definitely challenge the great coaching minds in the SIAC. My guess is the AD will push for Heritage Hills....they really need to dump a couple of the small school teams anyway.

KY>IN.....despite what Tango says LOL.

Kyle is on this platform and reads regularly. My guess is he is making the point that if the conference could find a couple of teams (or more) they can go to two divisions. That said, I don't think they are going to find a single team. Edit: Maybe Terre Haute North and South

Yes, it does matter. I am very familiar with how this can go. If the sending school says, "We think there could be some reason here athletics-related," that puts the transfer in the "not automatic" pile. An investigation will ensue regardless of the validity/provability of what the sending schools' response was.
