  1. It really is hard to imagine. Honestly, I’m shocked it’s not. Sure, the game out at Luers is supposed to be a good one but it’s a small school game. Big school game should take precedence here in FW.
  2. I think it’s safe to say it now guys…..Eastbrook Panthers 2021 2A Football State Champions!! 💪🏼💪🏼
  3. It was horrible. I mean what if MC would’ve scored when the game should’ve been over?
  4. Luers I feel will only move locations again if Luersfield is absolutely unplayable. Otherwise, they’ll play it at home. I had heard that there was a few key starters out for the Knights tonight. I don’t know the severity of Hale’s injury but Rj Houge, Doughty and Aiden Dennis have filled in very nicely in his absence.
  5. It had to be an injury. The kid is a workhorse! You don’t just up and stop running him unless for injury. If so, hopefully nothing serious! End of the game was atrocious. My thought is, how hard is it during that stoppage with 45 tics left to signal upstairs and ask how many timeouts MC had? Takes a minute maybe, not the 5-6 or whatever pow wow we got that ended in a 4th timeout 🤦🏻‍♂️ IHSAA has to see that one 👍🏼
  6. Firstly, I think the Knights need to get healthy. Sir Hale was in a walking boot last week and also had a couple others starters dinged up. Secondly, I think after the Snider game debacle, field and weather conditions are something to keep an eye on. If it’s another mudder next week then I think maybe the edge shifts to Eastside.
  7. I caught the tail end of it and you’re right, not much if any rush attack. You have to wonder if maybe MC panicked a little then with how the games momentum was shifting?? Idk 🤷🏻‍♂️ When I played, if conditions were like this we just lined up double tight power I and had a good ol time 😂 back then no one knew what an “RPO” was lol.
  8. Well, it’s here folks. 11-0 #4 Eastside travels to 10-1 #2 Bishop Luers. I expect this game to absolutely live up to the billing. Coach Mason’s postgame comments tonight were awesome to hear! I love when Coaches get fired up like that. It adds to what is already a big game for both teams. Thoughts?? Predictions?
  9. Maybe an injury?? Maybe MC thought they could right the ship in the second half and save him for “next week” 👀😳
  10. Prairie Heights -10.5!! 😂🤣 All jokes aside though, I would think somewhere around -35?? It’s all for fun right? 😁🤷🏻‍♂️
  11. Really, I think 6A North as a whole is a lot more competitive this year than in years past.
  12. There’s no denying the more you play a certain offensive style or tempo, the more used to it you get. I think the thing that fascinates me so much about Eastbrooks offense is that it’s a power run T-style offense that’s built to score 50 a night and also do it quickly. Most times you see teams just grind people with the T. No question! Prairie Heights is coming off a nice road win over a pretty decent Woodlan team. Now they get the #2 Knights at home? I’d be chomping at the bit if I was the Panthers! Yes, they are much better than last year. The offensive line is undersized yes but they can go bigger if they really need to. To me, the biggest improvement has been in their physicality as a whole. They’re bigger, faster and stronger than last year and play with a chip on their shoulder.
  13. Well firstly, ANY team can be beaten! So there’s that. I think as long as Luers stays humble and plays their game, they should win this Friday. Now next week against a juggernaut in Eastside is a different story. That game will be a down to the wire type of game. To me, it’s anyone’s guess. I think IF Luers were to squeak by Eastside, the winner of 36 presents their own unique challenge for the Knights. I’ve been saying to anyone who’d listen up here that Eastbrooks tempo on offense is unlike anything teams up here see and that could be a major problem for Luers.
  14. That they are! Eastbrook’s offensive tempo is impressive. I think it’s one of the more underrated elements of their game. I FULLY expect the winner of 36 to play Andrean for a trip to LOS.
  15. Completely agree. I think next year we’ll see strides from every FWCS program. Each school has talent in the underclasses. I think next year could be even more competitive in the SAC. When I heard that particular take, I thought no way this conference is down. Indiana HS Football as a whole is on the rise and the SAC is arguably a top 5 conference in the state, even with teams like South and Wayne rebuilding and under new leadership.
  16. I just got to re-reading this and I completely agree. Was the SAC “down” last year when Homestead and Dwenger went 8-1 in the league? Carroll was 7-2, Snider 5-4 and Luers 3-6. This year you got 3 teams 8-1 one 6-3 and the other 5-4. I’m no expert but i personally thought this season was much more competitive.
  17. I doubt they’d do a Saturday game only due to the fact that most officiating crews that are assigned on to fridays games also do games on saturdays. Most importantly though, Luers first has to take care of business on Friday night against Prairie Heights and then they can worry about home field conditions.
  18. They’ll play it at Luersfield. Only way i can see them moving is if we get another monsoon that week!
  19. I’ve been floating the idea to some other followers of the SAC that the big 5 should split off and add 2 teams and make a 7 team league. Play the other 6, 2 out of conference with the conference title in week 9 or 6 conference and no championship game with 3 out of conference. I think it would be good for the top 5 in the SAC and the bottom 5 as those schools maybe will finally gain some traction not having to face powerhouses half of their season. Doubt it will ever happen though. Here’s to wishful thinking!
  20. From what I was told a few years back it has to do with the diocese and ongoing current projects at the school. Apparently, in order to get any upgrades done to Luersfield or the complex surrounding, they (diocese) need to approve.
  21. The Miners nip Mater Dei this year! We’re headed for a Linton vs Andrean final!! Mark it down ✅
  22. It was just a bad take in my opinion. I mean is Sniders success this year because the SAC is down? Or how about Carroll? You’d never hear that same take about one of the bigger schools in town. Give credit to Marini though, he seems to know good football when he sees it regardless of school size or prestige.
  23. The guy from OPS J. Kenny I think is his name? The other guy who does the “Inside the Zone” segment opposite Marini. When discussing last weeks big showdown JK said he that the Knights’ success this year could be due to the SAC being down. Specifically, mentioning Bishop Dwenger and Homestead as teams having a “down” year. To me, Homestead is probably one of the best, if not the best, 6-3 team in the state. The same with Dwenger at 5-4. I’m no expert or anything, but I don’t consider this a down year for the SAC at all.
  24. Now I’m not saying at some points over the years the passion of the game or a certain rivalry hasn’t caused some people in these parts to act out of sorts but I feel like that happens everywhere for the most part. I’ve always been for a move up 1 or 2 or however many classes. When I was at Luers we were in 3A. It was the first move up before the SF. I can tell you in my experience, we didn’t care what class we were in. We just wanted to redeem ourselves from the year before (3-8) and show everyone just how good we were, regardless of class. I can’t speak to now but I would assume that these players today wouldn’t mind. My gripe with the “looking down on” is more local than anything else. Anytime Snider or BD win the SAC or have a good team, it’s because they’re good programs and that’s what they do. If Luers win the SAC or have a good team, like this year, it’s because the conference is “down”. I get we’re a small school punching above our weight class every week but I think it’s unfair when the local media diminishes 1 school’s accomplishments but celebrates the others. (I know this is again slightly off topic I apologize!)
  25. 2 points. First, I’ve stated previously in this thread and I’ll say it again, I believe Snider should have its own Stadium. The Panthers are the crème de la crème of FWCS teams and have been for decades. Second, and going off of my first point, I don’t think Snider is looked down upon for it’s success. The media in this town love the Panthers. Personally, as a Luers guy, I have a huge amount of respect for the Snider program and the way they do things. I do think, however, that Luers is looked down upon for its success.
