  1. Embrace it. I like it.
  2. Possible. I just can’t get that Facebook hype man out of my mind which is probably unfair to the kids, lol. When he spoke about a guaranteed state title a couple of years back and they proceeded to get curb stomped by Chatard, I clocked out. Come to think of it, I have a lot of biases towards certain teams and coaches, most probably unfair, lol.
  3. So, something has to give right? Merrillville seems to always have a head scratcher too.
  4. In all seriousness, though likely unfair to Merrillville in this spot, I just can’t pick them to get over the hump. Snider wins 34-24.
  5. Does Merrillville being the opponent change your outlook for Snider? You’ve been pretty doom and gloom lately and propping up Valpo (I was guilty too).
  6. My only concern is for the safety of the Snider players…how many D1 players at Merrillville this year?
  7. He is offering 42.5. All I’m asking for is 27.5.
  8. 2-1 last week…17-2 in the postseason, 94-18 on the year. Center Grove at Ben Davis: Let’s see here, am I going to pick against the team that has won 12 straight games against in-state competition or the one whose only loss is to the #2 team in America? I have learned not to pick against Eric Moore, especially in November, and learned my lesson last week in picking Cathedral to upset Ben Davis. I don’t usually get into a position by position comparison here, but don’t believe it’s controversial to believe BD has more talent across the board. Both teams have extremely talented quarterbacks, but the Giants have more talent in the backfield, at the skill positions and along the defensive line. But they don’t have Eric Moore. Russ Mann is a bright mind and has done one hell of a job in year 1. If he traverses the path of beating Hart, Peebles AND Moore in his first year, I’ll tip my cap. If wake up Saturday morning, having picked against CG and am wrong, I’d never forgive myself. If I wake up having picked CG and BD wins, I’d feel less bad, lol. I’ve waffled on this one since 10pm Friday night and I’ll duck on the way out. Picked CG when the tournament started, so I’m going all in. CG wins 27-24. Westfield @ Crown Point: Both teams coming off thrilling victories last weekend sets up the showdown in the region. Crown Point breaking through is good for the sport similar to how Carroll did last year. Westfield has played 90 minutes of bad football all season and I believe that any talk of travel causing difficulty is grossly overstated as the Shamrocks have been here before. Not to use an idiom but Westfield is much more battle tested and it will show here. Westfield wins 31-17. What say you?
  9. 5. The way that the Big Ten informed (or didn’t) Michigan their head coach was suspended on Friday was absolute bush league. The AD/Harbaugh found out via SOCIAL MEDIA as the plane was descending into Happy Valley just before 4pm EST. Pete Thamel at ESPN broke the story nearly 30 minutes before the B10 offices contacted Michigan. 6. One of the B10 responses to Michigan was that their supposed “operation” puts player safety at risk as defenders “knowing what play is coming could lead to serious injuries.” Anybody who has ever played or coached this game knows that is an absolute farce. With Stalions on the sidelines, Michigan was giving up 6 points per game…in 3 games without him, they’ve given up 9 points per game…let’s call this what it is…
  10. This’ll be the closest in state game that EC plays all season… C’mon @Rodney…do it.
  11. Yes, consensus is he made himself some money this past weekend.
  12. 1. Michigan 2. Ohio State 3. Penn State 4. Iowa 5. Rutgers 6. Northwestern 7. Wisconsin 8. Illinois 9. Maryland 10. Nebraska 11. Purdue 12, Minnesota 13. Indiana 14. Michigan State

  14. Gotta overthink it some more before making a prediction.
  15. Yep. I’m a believer.

  19. 32 straight runs….
  20. No one can watch 400+ football teams so sometimes the transitive property is the best you can do. It means something “sometimes.” Sagarin is pretty damn accurate.
  21. I don’t think Crown Point has much of a shot but if rumors are true that Westfield lost one of its best defensive players to injury last night I could see that one maybe being closer than I first imagined. I’ll waffle on BD/CG all weekend likely. Same way I did with CP/Penn and BD/Cathedral.
  22. Could not tell ya but backing up my statement above, I think 5A is the only class where you could currently make a case that all four remaining teams have a legitimate chance to hoist the trophy. No disrespect intended.
  23. I was flipping back and forth and it seemed as one ended the other was drawing to it’s thrilling conclusion. Same thing last weekend!
