So, do you also hold those same standards to SEC football? Huge unfair advantage in the southeast. In other words, can I walk around claiming Michigan has a better “program” than Bama/Georgia despite the recent on the field results indicating otherwise? (I may get that put on a t-shirt.)

Competitiveness on a state wide level. Look, Carmel is an easy punching bag and target on here and their lack of success in the tournaments since they have gone south is well documented over the past two seasons and makes it easy to pile on. What is not debatable, however is the fact that no northern Indiana program is even close to their level or will make them sweat. I need to see more from Homestead, Snider, Merrillville and others.

If that schedule comes to fruition, add Carmel to the list of non-Indy teams that needs to beef up its schedule to play with the 6A powers. Maybe TWO of those contests would be competitive after halftime.

Harbaugh’s “satellite camps” during the summer of 2015/16 came to Indy and the guy could not here been more personable. One of the coolest days of my life as it was full access and I stood on the sideline and watched the UM staff coach up the kids. Also, via my experience teaching/coaching at an Indy 6A school it was a constant revolving door of who is who in the college football coaching world. Ok, brag time over.

You should know me by now. I am always in the mood for an argument. 1. Snider is a shell of its former self and isn’t even the best team in Allen County annually anymore. 2. No one outside of the SAC considers Homestead a threat in 6A nor should they until the Spartans beat (hell compete with) anyone noteworthy outside of their area. Carmel is so far above those programs it’s not even funny. I know it is often a fruitless effort to compare programs who cycle players in and out every year and attempt to make blanket statements but we all do it. Snider could prove me wrong (and the way they turned it on late in 2021 got me halfway back on board) but right now I see them as a 5A contender and not much more. Even with the stability of a coaching staff, we can make assumptions about the way teams are going to be made up and the way that they are going to play and Homestead has failed miserably on every occasion it has had to prove itself, losing by 30+ ppg to the two Hamilton County teams they’ve lined up across from in the tournament recently. I do see parallels between the last few Homestead teams and the CG teams of the early 2000s though, so I’ll never say never. In conclusion, both of those programs would have a lot to gain by scheduling Carmel, but would not be much other than a homecoming opponent for the Hounds.

So 9-0 with an average margin of victory of 20+ points per game? Got it. 1. What evidence do you have that those teams would “hit Carmel in the mouth?” 2. What makes you think Carmel would have to “put its best foot forward” to win any of those contests? They may end up getting one or more of those teams on the schedule but they will be way down the priority list if all else fails.

Those matchups are last resorts…true nothing to gain/everything to lose propositions for Carmel.

The same Matt Campbell who used the “Tom Allen Covid” method to elevate his profile and was top 10 this preseason? Zero SEC comparisons are valid as they already have superior “resources” to Michigan, with the exception of Vandy. Both good coaches but couldn’t hold Harbaugh’s jock strap.

Dabo wouldn't last 3 years at Michigan or Notre Dame and is about to fall on hard times now that his coordinators are gone. Mark my words. Clemson is dirty as hell and their admissions department is laughable. Meyer is a known/proven liar/cheater and controversy has followed him everywhere he has gone. Spare me his win loss record. Saban is the GOAT, no doubt. But why was he slightly above average at Toledo and MSU and then a god at LSU and Bama? Makes you wonder. Matt Campbell and Mark Stoops made me spit my drink out. Harbaugh is a GREAT college coach and football coach in general, regardless of the level.

10 combined wins in the last three seasons. The Harbaugh magic wore off after Shaw won initially with his players. Shaw is the most overpaid coach in America. Answer my last question. If you were a collegiate AD, who are you interviewing before you give Jim Harbaugh a call?

In the NFL, the playing field is about as close to even as you are going to see. While I mentioned that Michigan is not Harvard, it is much closer to Harvard than it is Clemson, Alabama or Ohio State at least as far as the admissions department is concerned. There are significant advantages to coaching at Michigan, no doubt but also some barriers...which also can be said about coaching at ND and is one of the reasons Kelly bolted to LSU. Its not a coincidence that Harbaugh has now won at Michigan and STANFORD (by the way how has Stanford fared since his departure?). If you were a collegiate AD and had a coaching opening, how many guys are you choosing to interview BEFORE Harbaugh?
