Outside of travel, isn't a main cornerstone of conference affiliation competitive balance? LC is is a non-factor for the conference title in all 20 IHSAA sports. I do not have Franklin Central "jumping to the MIC" if you have read closely. I have cited that Franklin Central's profile in terms of enrollment and SES will fit in more so with the MIC schools in the years to come as things continue to change and evolve. Its common sense.

Some call it sour grapes but its obvious that college football programs are not operating under the same rules which is why (even though I give them hell), I respect Notre Dame for excelling both on and off the field. Ohio 2. Michigan 3. Kentucky 4. Illinois 5. Indiana

I am actually starting to change my tone when it comes to bulletin board material. I used to say it made no difference but between the national semi-final in CFB and what we saw this past weekend in the NFL, I think it has some merit.

Its really as simple as population in most cases. Nothing more, nothing less. Not saying the top teams in Indiana CAN'T compete with those from other states, but the depth in those states probably wears Indiana out. Just look at the number of next player levels on the recruiting sites. Now, if you want to talk PER CAPITA? Indiana holds its own.
