  1. Throwing a fit? Not one exclamation point, ALL CAPS or any name calling Just calling a spade a spade. Question: Why now? What changed? The nickname stood for decades without incident. Did “Rebel” suddenly become offensive? Did it’s meaning change from 1970 to 2020? Do we know more about rebels now than we did before? Lets have a civil discussion for once.
  2. Never said they were forced. You seem to be the “triggered” one.
  3. LOL @ freely. Simply staying ahead of the storm. Control the story before you BECOME the story. Like many of other happenings today, simply giving the impression you are “taking a stance” by doing something like this keeps the mob off of your back.
  4. The Chicago Cubs disagree. One of the cleanest looks in sports.
  5. Coach Walsh = genuine man who happened to coach football Urb = football coach who is not a genuine man You can fool kids....adults, not so much.
  6. Urb continues to be the biggest scumbag in the coaching world. He just told Texas less than a month ago that "his health was still an issue." He'll be exposed by grown men who won't buy his schtick. This will end just like the Saban, Spurrier and Kelly experiments more so than the Carroll, Johnson, Switzer ones.
  7. I heard it edged out "The Roncalli Football Team" by a narrow margin...
  8. "They might pursue him, but I can't imagine Mike coming back into the MIC. Not at this stage of his career. Been there, done that, has the t-shirt." You also couldn't "imagine" Kirschner going to Warren a few weeks back and that happened in your own backyard. Maybe you aren't as plugged in to "the rumblings" as you think?
  9. It DOES matter and while DT does like to throw things with little to no substance at the wall to see if they stick, taking the opposite approach and speaking in absolutes from the other side of town is no better. Outside of travel, isn't a main cornerstone of conference affiliation competitive balance? LC is is a non-factor for the conference title in all 20 IHSAA sports. I do not have Franklin Central "jumping to the MIC" if you have read closely. I have cited that Franklin Central's profile in terms of enrollment and SES will fit in more so with the MIC schools in the years to come as things continue to change and evolve. Its common sense.
  10. Yay for cancel culture! I sure hope that everyone can recover from the suffering/traumatic experience of their former nickname.
  11. Can you honestly name ONE IHSAA sport in which Lawrence Central is clearly in the top half of the MIC?
  12. Ah, gotcha. Thanks for clarification. Can we also discuss the majors offered, tuition fees and performance of the chess club for each school? I'd be willing to bet ND is better there too. Gimme a break. Citing academics on a college football message board after your team gets curb stomped is the ultimate white flag.
  13. Looks like the Colts draft needs have changed.
  14. Wow.
  15. JFK Jr. High The real question is what is the origin of the Bayside/Valley rivalry?
  16. "Who isn't" as in who isn't speaking about results on the field. Weird flex = strange environment to boast about superior academics Notre Dame will continue to churn out six figure CEO's while Bama will continue to operate as a football factory. ND will never go that route but is still a top 10-15 team annually which is commendable.
  17. Who isn't? Some call it sour grapes but its obvious that college football programs are not operating under the same rules which is why (even though I give them hell), I respect Notre Dame for excelling both on and off the field. Notre Dame IS undoubtedly light years ahead of Alabama academically but weird flex on a football message board.
  18. Not biting huh? Still feeling "disrespected" from that Outback Bowl invite I assume?
  19. I’m just here for the spin from the ND faithful. ”We played them tougher than Ohio State did.”
  20. Guess I could. Didn't think of that. Those numbers easily available?
  21. Good call. Thanks for the correction. Not 100 percent accurate but if you take every 2021 football recruit from the five states mentioned listed on 247's state list (those with a 2 star ranking or higher so not necessarily "blue chip" recruits), and figure in the total population it looks like this. 1. Ohio 2. Michigan 3. Kentucky 4. Illinois 5. Indiana
  22. Simply put: Some guys are more interested in their "brand" and "likes" on social media as opposed to winning games on the field.
  23. I am actually starting to change my tone when it comes to bulletin board material. I used to say it made no difference but between the national semi-final in CFB and what we saw this past weekend in the NFL, I think it has some merit.
  24. Its really as simple as population in most cases. Nothing more, nothing less. Not saying the top teams in Indiana CAN'T compete with those from other states, but the depth in those states probably wears Indiana out. Just look at the number of next player levels on the recruiting sites. Now, if you want to talk PER CAPITA? Indiana holds its own.
