I agree on the talent but like the Heisman Trophy, I believe it should be a single season award, hence the reason it is given annually and the year is in front of the “Mr. Football” title.

So based on your experience are you going to “play harder?” It’s the state championship for goodness sake.

Just using the data available. I’ll tell SAC fans the same thing I tell HCC fans: No one will take you seriously as a conference until you start winning your fair share against the others. The HCC’s measuring stick is the MIC. The SAC (big school’s) is the HCC under the current tournament format.

Opens another topic for debate...is it a one year award? Should it be? I still say that’s why Kiser won over Bell and Johnson over Yeast...to many it IS a career award.

And Zionsville obviously HAS gotten better, hence why they are playing this weekend.

The “SAC’s best” struggled with the bottom of the HCC in 2019 and was beaten by the HCC two consecutive postseasons now. It’s a trend. The gap from the HCC to the SAC may actually be bigger than the gap from the MIC to the HCC.

THANK YOU. I guess that BD also forced the CG fumble at the mesh point on their second drive... I will never accept lazy, one sided analysis, so no...we cannot have interesting discussion. Fundamentally sound teams like CG who are not flashy get no love from some folks on here. Hence, the reason some folks thought this game was going to be close. CG may not be explosive compared to other teams but they impose their will and force you into submission. BD became more and more deflated in their body language with each second half snap last night. It was a downward spiral they could not stop. How about we CREDIT CG for BD’s “bad quarter” next time?

Oh I am fully aware. I’ve seen years like last year, where stats matter (as they should relative to the level of competition) and have also seen instances (Hunter Johnson) where stars seem to matter. If Steele wins it, get set for back to back winners from CG. They have three juniors that will duke it out in 2021.

If the margins of victory play out like many project next weekend it’s not too far fetched to state that the best four teams in the state reside in four different classes...

Yes. Never considered this myself and unsure if the IHSAA did either. They may want to pull a 180 from your original idea, lol. Will WeBo fans want to stick around and root for conference foe Danville? What about neighboring county school Zionsville? Will Zionsville fans want to cheer for conference member Westfield? How about the Chatard, Roncalli, Cathedral contingent? This could get interesting...or ugly...depending on how you view things.

As if sectionals, regionals, and semi state trophies don’t “motivate” players? Once again, ridiculous analysis that is meaningless. You should have stopped your last sentence at the word “way” while you were ahead. Your analysis begins when many current Chatard players were in diapers...or the womb.

This kind of analysis always makes me chuckle. The current Chatard seniors were in 8th grade/freshmen the last two times they were knocked out by Danville, basically meaning not one player from either team played a meaningful snap the last two times they were on opposing sidelines. Makes for a cool storyline building up to the game for folks to talk about but means nothing of substance when predicting how the game is going to actually play out. The coaching staff can circle whatever they want, but they aren’t suiting up.

Did BD’s “bad quarter” have anything to do with adjustments their opponent made or are we ignoring that fact? CG swarmed to the ball and those quick/tunnel screen passes (BD’s bread and butter all night) had no shot in the second half...yet they had no other “go to” calls. Some people are so quick to discredit the winning team...

Stranger things have happened. I like what I saw out of Westfield and Zionsville tonight.

Let’s not throw dirt on the HCC just yet. Yes, Zionsville and Westfield will be big underdogs but next weekend is a huge litmus test for the Hoosier Crossroads Conference.

Will be interesting in the first year of game times/dates being determined by geography as NINE of the 12 teams participating are within 45 minutes of downtown Indy...lol.
