  1. Can't compare a guy who has won at the highest level to a guy who has won at the FCS level and has had one year of success in the power 4...and you know it. Now, can Cignetti get there in the next few years? Sure. Not gonna dodge Penn State and Oregon and get a down Michigan every season. If we are gonna use "great" to describe Cignetti we need another superlative to describe Harbaugh.
  2. 3/4
  3. Eh, process of elimination. Mediocrity after Oregon. Sucks they have to pick 12. Hell, Michigan’s worst team in 15 years just shut down what Urban Meyer deemed “Ohio State’s most talented team ever” earlier this season. $20+ million, lol. Hoping James Franklin and Ryan Day do just enough to keep their jobs.
  4. Well Wright and Cignetti have the same amount of wins over FBS ranked teams so maybe we should compare them.
  5. Cignetti is good, Harbaugh is great. I mean, Harbaugh’s successor just went into Columbus and did what Cignetti’s team couldn’t a week prior, with a walk on QB and 11 new offensive starters…sometimes you gotta send big brother in to take on the bully who beat you up. As for Notre Dame, I’ll reserve judgment until they beat a ranked team that isn’t a service academy. We gonna compare Bud Wright to Harbaugh next?
  6. Sure. Ok. 12 teamer…Harbaugh woulda made it 4 times under the current format.
  7. Which is?
  8. Has Cignetti ever even beaten a ranked team?
  9. Wow, so much to unpack here. Out of all of the teams remaining in contention for the title this year, I’d actually like to see Notre Dame win it. Look, no one does it the “right way” anymore but Notre Dame is about as close as it gets. Zero hatred in my heart after my team ran the table last year. Two years in a row of a non-SEC team winning the championship would be gold. If you think the amount of “cheating” that Harbaugh did is even a pinprick of what goes on in NCAA football, you’re delusional. I notice that you conveniently ignored the data from his years in college prior to Michigan. (Is it even POSSIBLE to “cheat” at Stanford?) (And I am not even wasting any energy on the Cignetti comparison, lol. It’s so asinine it’s not worthy of words.)
  10. You’re drunk. Still waiting on that supposed NCAA hammer to drop I assume? He cheat at San Diego, Stanford, San Francisco and LA too? Dude is a winner. Plain and simple. Beat the Buckeyes (along with Penn State, Iowa, Bama and Washington) fair and square without Stallions on staff last year and embarrassed OSU’s offense this year too. The proof is in the pudding. How can you hate from outside the club when you can’t even get in?
  11. Where’s the lie? 0-8 in BCS/NY6 games… https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/schools/notre-dame/bowls.html
  12. Don’t need to feel better…team is on top right now. Best MAC team in 2007 had 5 losses, App State won the national title by four touchdowns that year.
  13. OSU/Oregon OSU/PSU OSU/Indiana Georgia/Bama Georgia/Texas Bama/Tennessee Georgia/Tennessee Just a few examples of games that were billed as important in 2024 and none of them actually were as all will be in the bracket next week. Let’s rewind to the old 4 team format… Think about how exciting this weekend would be. Georgia and Penn State would be playing for their postseason lives this Saturday. I love March Madness but I’ve always liked how college football rewards the BEST team 90+% of the time…college basketball rewards the HOTTEST team. Oregon is the only team flawless thus far. Boring.
  14. Thanks for making my point Bob. Regular season is meaningless. Hell, the conference title games aren’t much better. I can get into the B10 championship game for $15 this weekend. As a fan, why would I waste my money on a conference title game when I can save up for a guaranteed playoff game ticket? Maybe ND can win their first meaningful postseason game since I was in middle school this time around.
  15. Yep. OOC games against P4 teams are pointless and the committee about to prove it once again.
  16. Don't forget a 6-6 Vandy team, a game in which they were 23 point favorites.
  17. An FCS team that would have demolished the MAC. Not trying to polish any turd, demons were exercised last year.
  18. I could be mistaken but I am not sure that is the point he was making.
  19. People still love to bring up the UM loss to App State nearly two decades later and I could make the argument that this season’s ND loss to NIU is worse. That App State team won the FCS title the previous year and won it again in 2007 after beating UM… This year’s NIU team finished 7-5 and tied for 6th in the MAC.
  20. It’s a whole body of work. That’s why. It’s been well established in the other forum that we disagree when it comes to how we rank teams and that is fine but a loss is a loss. A four TD favorite losing to a mid-tier MAC team is damning whether or not it happens in September or November. I keep hearing the “money line” being dropped in relation to the SEC and Bama specifically but isn’t South Carolina also in the SEC? Because it’s hilarious?
  21. Yeah, good points. But Michigan IS Indiana’s best win. Not their fault and I give them a pass on their non-conference schedule because a team like IU should always schedule light in the non-con in my opinion.
  22. Shane Beamer of South Carolina with an elbow from the top rope. They chose to play LSU in the non-conference and have three ranked wins...Penn State, Indiana, and Boise State have ZERO. Notre Dame has ONE and a loss to a MAC team. Alabama DID beat South Carolina, narrowly at home so I guess there is that. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/other/shane-beamer-to-rethink-non-conference-scheduling-after-college-football-playoff-rankings/ar-AA1vhoM6
  23. Unless I am mistaken, Notre Dame over NIU and Bama over Vandy were the only power 4 point spreads larger than OSU over Michigan in which the underdog won outright. And all three teams who were upset are likely playoff bound, lol. It was fun when the regular season used to matter. Now you can take up to three weeks (25 percent of your season off) and still play for the title…
  24. Yep. Also, Scott Jennings is a national treasure. Watching this guy dismantle CNN “journalists” has been appointment viewing TV.
  25. Every football player I have ever met runs a 4.4 40...then runs +11.50 in the 100 later that spring.
