  1. Or the fact that FSU and USC who were deemed difficult opponents in the offseason are having terrible years and ND's schedule has been as soft as a baby's ass? That week 1 win over A&M is by far their best. Hell, Louisville lost to Stanford this past weekend.
  2. App State was actually FCS at that time.
  3. So are the Irish.
  4. Eh, I am just a fan of excellence. Could you have imagined if Michigan had lost to a MAC team at home last year? That alone should be disqualifying for an opportunity to play for a national title.
  5. Mediocrity is being rewarded. We were told the games I mentioned were also “high stakes”…which they obviously weren’t. The supposed #5 team in the country is a 12 point underdog this weekend, lol.

  7. Crown Point @ Westfield: A poster on here insinuated that I never admit I am wrong so here goes. I was EXTREMELY impressed by Crown Point on Friday night as I caught parts of their game against Carroll. I still place them as the longest odds to win the title, but I have one foot on board and give them much more of a chance than I did all fall. I think that Westfield is the most complete team left and actually boasts a win AT Center Grove and had a near loss at Brownsburg. I am not a big "revenge game" kind of guy but I do believe Westfield has some added motivation after their comeback bid fell short in the region last year. They get the game at their place this year, which I think makes a difference. Westfield to LOS. 30-24. Brownsburg @ Center Grove: A couple fellow posters have dropped the "team of destiny"/"over the hump" mantra when it comes to Brownsburg this year. Their ability to dig out of early deficits and come back in win is commendable. For stretches of their contest against LN last week, it seemed that neither team wanted to win the game as both turned the ball over multiple times but in the end, LN's penalties and Brownsburg's execution made the difference. Don't get me wrong, I think Brownsburg is a more complete team than Center Grove but this one is on the southside and you're giving me Eric Moore? Brownsburg can't get behind early again. Gotta go CG here. Trojans win 23-20. What say you?
  8. One of my main reasons behind my passion for college football and preference over the NFL is the fact that it seemed every Saturday matters. I was looking forward to the 12 team playoff more so than anyone but I am kinda off board now. The regular season is nowhere near as meaningful as it once was. Just look at the rankings above. Head to head does not seem to matter. We were sold that UGA/Bama, OSU/Oregon, Bama/Tennessee, UGA/Texas, UGA/Ole Miss mattered and they obviously are one small data point. We have another this weekend with IU/OSU. OSU can probably afford another loss whereas IU's margin for error seems much smaller but I could still see them getting in the playoff at 11-1 as the ACC/Big 12 have cannibalized themselves. IU and ND at 11-1 or SEC teams at 9-3/10-2?
  9. Updated Odds: Westfield - 3/1 Brownsburg - 4/1 Center Grove - 4/1 Crown Point - 5/1
  10. Believe it was a hand warmer.
  11. I’ll just say this heading into semi-state weekend…anyone picking against Moore and CG at this point is doing so at their own peril. They might now be flashy, might not have the best win/loss record but I’m not betting against that guy anymore. I mean, I am betting “team of destiny” is being tossed around to describe Brownsburg at this point but something has to give Friday night.
  12. Possibly. Let’s revisit in 6 days. Westfield has averaged 44 points per game since their loss to Brownsburg.
  13. The captain returns with some well timed receipt keeping. Gotta love it.
  14. Great analysis. LN was the ultimate high risk/high reward type of team. Not walking back anything I said but I think their ceiling was the highest of any 6A team but their floor was also lower because of their lack of discipline and untimely turnovers. Next weekend is gonna be fun.

  17. Jumped around from game to game tonight…man what great ones. I now have one foot on board with Crown Point…LN was a terrible matchup for them in my opinion and they are now out of the way. You could make a case for all four teams left. At last…parity!
  18. Yep. HCC with a big opportunity to shape the future narrative next weekend.
  19. LN has to be sick. Kudos to Brownsburg…two weeks in a row.
  20. What a night of football!
  21. Uh…very little. More so O$U paying $20+ million.
  22. But IMG is just 5 spots behind at 15? Wasn't it 31-3?
  23. I mean, he was at the Bama/LSU game on an official Saturday night and saw what DeBoer did with Milroe so...
