Crown Point at Penn

Merrillville > Penn And we saw that final score… -
Combined thread this week: Brownsburg @ Ben Davis: Hard to imagine Brownsburg does not have a serious case of déjà vu heading into this one as they are sputtering a bit whereas the Giants are peaking. Still not sold on them to hoist to the trophy later this month but I think they escape this one and exercise some demons. Brownsburg 38-23. Cathedral @ Lawrence North: An exciting matchup on the northeast side as perennial power Cathedral takes on up and coming Lawrence North. Rumor has it the Irish are healthy, which was not the case late in the regular season. If they can control the clock with their run game and stay on schedule, this one could come down to the last second. I still like LN. Wildcats 31-27. Fishers @ Hamilton Southeastern: Hoping we see both of these squads at their best Friday night as when they are they can play with anyone. That hasn’t been the case every week, however as both have some head scratching losses. The Royals are slightly more consistent and are at home so I will take them here. HSE 28-24. Franklin Central @ Center Grove: The Flashes had an up-and-down season and a key injury at the quarterback position late but here they are again. This one was closer than expected a couple of years ago before CG stepped on the gas last year. Moore’s team will be ready. Close early but CG pulls away late. CG wins 30-17. Perry Meridian @ Warren Central: The Warriors are looking at three straight home games to start the tournament and ever since the realignment it has become a one game season on the east side. The regional against Center Grove next week makes or breaks each teams’ season. Warren goes up early and then begins regional prep. WC 41-13. Zionsville @ Westfield: Exciting finish for the Eagles last week and they will have the best player on the field once again this Friday night. However, Westfield seems like a freight train that is heading downhill since the Brownsburg loss. Shamrocks roll here. 38-14. What say you?

Temp’s Eliminator Poll (Week 2)
temptation replied to temptation's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
1-2…close 3…unknown still but rewarding being undefeated 4…maybe I am being biased but have they peaked? Feel like I’ve seen this movie before. 5-8…close as hell. Gap after 8. -
Temp’s Top 25 (Week 11)
temptation replied to temptation's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I keep asking myself this question…is there a coach currently in the 6A state tournament that I trust more than Eric Moore? And I keep coming back to the same answer. No. -
Temp’s Top 25 (Week 11)

Yep. I could totally imagine a scenario in which CG runs the table and steals the entire thing. -

Crown Point is your favorite in what exactly? A regional matchup against the Carroll/Snider winner, or more? -

So talk me though why the Snider/Carroll game was so lopsided the first time around. My memory is foggy. Do you expect this week to be any different? Is the winner just fodder for Crown Point in the regional? -
Temp’s Top 25 (Week 11)
temptation replied to temptation's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Unpopular opinion…give Warren Elkhart’s schedule and I am not sure they give up a point all season. Westfield, LN and Brownsburg also in consideration for one of those top 5 slots along with Snider and Elkhart. You’ve been adamant in your critique of Sagarin and its warranted but I am sure we could come up with some sort of formula that combines SOS with points per game given up on defense. Don’t tempt me, lol. -
Temp’s Top 25 (Week 11)
temptation replied to temptation's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I mean, as it always does it comes down to schedule strength. I think Warren is a clear #1 end could be convinced Elkhart is top 5. This is all on paper obviously because I’ve never seen Elkhart play. -

69 plays, 54 of which were runs (nearly an 80/20 split) just strikes me as HSE never really feeling threatened and taking a business trip up to Fort Wayne. Arguing semantics at this point I guess. Did Homestead ever have the ball in the 4th with a chance to take the lead? -

Sure passing counts but based on those in the know isn’t it safe to say once HSE built a solid lead, they went into a shell and kept everything in front of them? When the clock becomes your friend, you just let the other team run out of time which it sounds like what happened here. A moral victory of sorts…congrats. -
Can they put a scare into CG?

Uh yeah, this tells a different story. This is an example of how final scores don’t tell the whole story. Nearly 6 1/2 yards per carry… -

I could be mistaken but I believe I heard FC is/was banged up at the QB position.

2024 Election - Biden vs Trump - The rematch

MSM: "Man, can you believe what Trump said about Puerto Rico? So much divisiveness." Biden: "Hold my beer." -
Brownsburg @ Avon: Episodes of deja vu for the Bulldogs who have struggled in the tournament recently? They draw Avon in round 1. Maybe the rivalry game keeps the Bulldogs focused as they are clearly the better team and have big goals over the next few weeks. Brownsburg wins 38-14. Carmel @ Zionsville: We may be witnessing the end of an era at Carmel as the Hounds have looked discombobulated for much of the season. Zionsville gets em at home and I am not sure these two have ever played on the gridiron. Bigger game for Zionsville. They pull one off here. 23-21 Eagles. Fishers @ Noblesville: Another rematch and this one was a classic at Fishers during the regular season. The Millers get a chance to host this time and are looking to snap a 7 game losing streak. The Fishers contest (an overtime one) was the streak starter. I think this one is closer than it should be but Fishers makes a couple of plays late. Tigers win 27-17. Franklin Central @ Columbus North: An underrated matchup on the schedule that is not getting much attention. Winner gets CG in round 2 in a "prove yourself" game. Flashes looked good before getting roughed up by Westfield in week 9. Bulldogs have been solid all year and are at home. CN wins this one 24-17. Hamilton Southeastern @ Homestead: Which Royals team shows up? The one that lost to FC or the one that beat Brownsburg? Time will tell. Homestead in for a long night here. HSE wins 38-10. Harrison (West Lafayette) @ Westfield: Shamrocks start the tournament at home and have looked the part of a state title contender over the last month. Harrison is good, but not good enough to play with the top of the HCC brass. Westfield wins 41-17. What say you?:

Ben Davis @ Pike: Pike had some early momentum but has not been the same since BD rolled them in week 3. On the other hand, Ben Davis seemed to have found something since their week 6 loss to LN, winning their last three. I'll take the Giants again, 34-20. Center Grove @ Jeffersonville: A battle tested CG team travels south to take on an overmatched Jeffersonville squad. A breath of fresh air considering the gauntlet the Trojans faced at the end of the season. The bus ride will last longer the game. Jeff is improved, but will be no match. Trojans roll 48-7. North Central @ Cathedral: No 6A team benefitted from the blind draw as much as the Irish as the extra week off, combined with NC in game one gives them a chance to lick their wounds and get healthy. This one was not close in the regular season and won't be again. 41-0 Irish. Lawrence North @ Lawrence Central: Another rematch of a regular season contest, though it was all the way back in week 1. LC actually gave LN its best game of the season ironically enough, only losing by 7. The teams sort of went in opposite directions after that however. I say LN wins a bit more comfortably this time even though its a rivalry game. LN wins 31-14. Tech @ Warren Central: Another lopsided one here as the Titans are completely overmatched. Warren has some momentum heading into the tournament but will not be tested until the regional. Warren wins 56-0. What say you?

Nah, I get it...not sure if it was you but someone on here claimed that Westfield's poor performance in the semi-state last year was due to not having a chartered bus for the road trip. -

Just make sure to leave the "bus excuse" in Hamilton County if that's how it plays out...
