  1. Wait a second, I owe everyone on here an apology. I somehow overlooked the Merrillville score Friday night. Not sure if I did not just hit refresh on Harrell’s site or what but just saw it. What the hell happened?
  2. Figured worst case scenario, folks could just upload their brackets here. What do you say? Start with your sectional champions (1 point per winner). Regional champions (2 points per winner). Semi-State champions (4 points per winner). State champions (8 points per winner). Include your final score for each title game as a tiebreaker. We will have an overall winner and then winner by class. Choose to participate in as many classes as you’d like. Any volunteers to help grade? Due at 7pm Friday.
  3. Believe I helped organize one in the past and I’m willing to do it again if there would be enough interest prior to this Friday’s games. Anyone tech savvy enough to throw it together in a digital format so we don’t have to do it the old school March madness way?
  4. Left the receipt in my pocket and washed my shorts. 20.5 it is. Not calling a confident win by Michigan by any means but if I were a Buckeye fan and watched that game Saturday against PSU, I’d be sleeping with one eye open going forward. I’m not convinced OSU’s defense is “fixed” and Michigan ran through Penn State like a hot knife through butter. Stroud can’t throw for 400 if he’s on the sideline for 40+ minutes of game action…and the running game travels. UM has the best OL in the country…again. And perhaps most importantly? They now EXPECT to win this game.
  5. Even if OSU beats Michigan by 21+ and drops 50 as you claimed this summer? How you feeling about that game currently?
  6. Slightly inaccurate but I will let it slide. Hope you are right but I just don’t see it. The loser in Columbus goes to Pasadena.
  7. Can’t let that IU loss go just yet. Yep, finally put em #1 for the first time too… 😉
  8. I fear you may be right. Had no real measuring stick for East Central all season and kept them in the high teens. Not a program built on moral victories obviously but I’ve spoken repeatedly about the amount of respect I have for Roncalli on here so to play them like they did speaks volumes. Could they potentially play spoiler to both New Pal AND Roncalli?
  9. Not ranked. One of about 5/6 teams I considered that narrowly missed the top 50.
  10. 1. Michigan 2. Ohio State 3. Penn State 4. Purdue 5. Maryland 6. Illinois 7. Minnesota 8. Iowa 9. Michigan State 10. Wisconsin 11. Nebraska 12. Rutgers 13. Indiana 14. Northwestern
  11. Wasn’t implying they were. Just stating that the two conferences have really beaten one another up and thus not been able to climb the rankings.
  12. SIAC and Mid-State are crapshoots. Lots of parity. I’ve got Reitz (HM) (#33 overall). I’ve got Jasper (HM) (#41 overall). I’ve got Memorial (HM) (#50 overall).
  13. Not to beat a dead horse but Roncalli had the benefit of some late season measuring stick contests whereas New Pal’s were all in August. No fault of theirs. Hell, I have so much respect for both programs but I actually moved East Central UP in my rankings based on how they played Roncalli. The best part is that we will likely get to see this one settled on the field in what could shape up to be the game of the tournament.
  14. Hamilton Southeastern Brownsburg Cathedral Center Grove Roncalli New Palestine Westfield Ben Davis Fishers Carmel Carroll (Fort Wayne) Fort Wayne Snider Lawrence Central East Central Penn Crown Point Warren Central Merrillville Fort Wayne North Whiteland Gibson Southern Bishop Chatard NorthWood West Lafayette New Prairie
  15. Mel Tucker better donate some of his salary to Kenneth Walker.
  16. Avon @ Noblesville: The Orioles got one in the win column last week against Zionsville while the Millers continue to struggle. I think Avon makes it two in a row. Orioles win 27-21. Brownsburg @ Hamilton Southeastern: The matchup all have waited for is here and the conference title is on the line. Kudos to both teams staying focused. I’ll take the Royals here in a small upset 27-24. Fishers @ Zionsville: What has happened in Boone County? After looking like they were rounding into form last month, the Eagles have hit a road block. Fishers lost to a Westfield team not ready to hand over its northern 6A supremacy just yet. Fishers wins here 30-17. Franklin Central @ Westfield: Rumors of the Shamrocks’ step back may have been over exaggerated and they may actually be the sectional 4 favorite. FC has improved but not enough to reach the upper half of this conference. Shamrocks make a statement here. 34-14.
  17. The final week of the schedule has some juicy matchups. Ben Davis @ North Central: After sleep walking through the first half, the Giants dropped 29 unanswered points to stun LC and position themselves for a outright MIC title with a win over lowly North Central. Won’t be a problem. BD wins 42-7. Cathedral @ Center Grove: A possible semi state preview has some asking the annual question of “will we see both teams’ full playbook” with bragging rights being the only thing at stake. This is about as close to a coin flip game as you can get in my opinion. Can’t wait. I’ll go with the Irish in what some might consider a slight upset. 20-17 Cathedral. Lawrence Central @ Carmel: Interested in the mindset of these two teams as LC blew a FOUR touchdown lead with the conference title at stake and Carmel looked stuck in the mud against Warren. More impressed with LC this season but think Carmel finds a way. Hounds 23-20. Lawrence North @ Pike: This one could be sneaky good as both of these teams have showed flashes but also laid eggs. I will stick with the Wildcats on the road 27-17. Warren Central @ Christian Brothers (MO): I think I’ve been wrong about Warren every damn week so this should give Warren fans promise. Don’t know a ton about CBC other than second hand accounts but they are littered with power 5 talent and have a playmaker committed to ND. They score in bunches. Long bus ride home for WC. CBC wins 38-21.
  18. 1. Ohio State 2. Michigan 3. Penn State 4. Purdue 5. Maryland 6. Minnesota 7. Illinois 8. Iowa 9. Wisconsin 10. Michigan State 11. Nebraska 12. Rutgers 13. Indiana 14. Northwestern
  19. They’ll definitely play their way in if they can beat Columbia City this Friday. Both of those teams are on the fringe.
