  1. Crown Point/Warren is a one possession/pick ‘em game for me right now. Would have not said that a week ago.
  2. So Crown Point beats a top 25 team on their home field by 33 points and you question whether or not they could beat Warren? Warren beat Warsaw by 34 at home. I think Merrillville/Warsaw is a one possession/pick ‘em type of game right now. You must think the gap from 1-25 is bigger than I do…and I actually think it’s pretty big.
  3. I am not disagreeing that they perhaps should’ve had a more in-depth search, but the guy led them to two top 10 wins last season and called a masterful drive in the Rose Bowl. Had Michigan not won the title last year, I might tend to agree with you but we are pretty content so he will get a decent leash. No shame in losing to Texas who is a bona fide national championship contender and after replacing 10 offensive starters. What really sucks is the inability to get playmakers on offense in the portal because all of the good guys were gone before all of Michigan’s underclassmen declared because the Wolverines were playing into January last year. Almost punished for winning.
  4. Hot take based on zero facts, smh.
  5. Merrillville is a top 35-40 program. Comparable to Warsaw if you ask me. I’m still not confident enough in Warren’s offense to claim this is a slam dunk.
  6. Crown Point didn’t just beat em…
  7. I’ll say something slightly controversial here, but the ease with which Crown Point dominated Merrillville is better than anything Warren has done in my opinion. Now, that being said, Merrillville is “Brownsburg lite” in terms of being regular season heroes and tournament zeros, but we will see. Both of those teams will get their opportunities to jump Crown Point with impressive victories going forward, whereas there is probably only one team standing between Crown Point and an undefeated regular season.
  8. I’ll admit, 3-9 is nearly impossible to rank at this point. You could make a case for any of them.
  9. Crown Point showed me something Friday night.
  10. Herbstreit’s kid the real deal?
  11. If only Cathedral could have pulled it off! LN routs Wayne. Carmel rolls Centerville. LC beats Edwardsville. CG beats Trinity! WOW!
  12. @BTF: Tell me how Dwenger plays Moeller rougher than East Central.
  13. I do too and they will get their chance. But right now, you have to reward teams for winning games and as more data becomes available, we will find out who just had bad nights versus who is who they are. Can’t rank Fishers ahead of Pike who got steamrolled by Ben Davis, who got beaten by Avon who got beaten by Lafayette Jeff. Can’t rank Noblesville ahead of Fishers.
  14. Felt pretty pessimistic around 3:45pm yesterday before remembering my Wolverines don’t have to relinquish the crown until mid January of 2025. Felt MUCH better last night around 6:45pm. Honest question…is there a path to the playoff for ND with 10 games to go or was yesterday a death sentence to their season? (EDIT: Just saw the post above).

  16. Just when you think this story can’t get any more ridiculous and overblown, here we are. The “boogeyman” Connor Stalions is whom is the crutch for every team’s shortcomings and failures is now a psychic…
  17. Outside of wrestling, boys/girls track, football and boys/girls basketball, I’m not sure Warren could compete with CG/Carmel in anything else.
  18. Strange. So, why football?
  19. I think that most of the sports you mentioned (could be mistaken) in which Carmel and CG play have “invitationals” in which multiple teams compete unless you are insinuating they have a wrestling dual/volleyball match. You're going to run into each other in those sports wheee competitions are mainly invite based as naturally they are hard to avoid. You’re right though. It’s all really bizarre and silly in the grand scheme of things and the kids are ultimately suffering so the adults can virtue signal and control some embellished narrative. Carmel and CG are both getting on a bus Friday night, traveling 2+ hours each way across state lines in order to “protect each other” from the other party because some adults refuse to lock themselves in a room and sort out their differences. Both teams will roll back into their school parking lots well after midnight and the coaches (and some players I assume) will be right back at it the next morning. Then, they’ll look at folks with a straight face and speak about “doing what’s best for student athletes.” Crazy times we are living in.
  20. Just stop. I’ve been over this on this forum multiple times. You wanna be the best, play the best. CG became an easy target with the help of the media and outside nonsense. I am old enough to remember when “big bad” Warren had a “play anybody, anywhere” type of mindset. Then they, along with the other MIC schools, get their feelings hurt and breakup with Carmel and CG before Carmel and CG have a chance to breakup with them. Warren hasn’t beaten CG since 2019 and isn’t going to do so by taking advantage of “the opportunity to get other teams on the schedule.” Soft.
  21. Yep. Kudos to BD for having the stones to put CG back on the football schedule. Warren still playing the victim card and Carmel is just too hard headed to walk it back. Pretty sad for the kids honestly.
  22. I actually agree with you. Just like the debate. The BD and Cathedral games don't look as daunting as they did a month ago (though it is a long season), though the case could also be made the Pike game actually looks competitive whereas no one would have said that a month ago. I pegged them at 7-8 wins preseason simply because it seems every challenging game outside of Snider is on their home field. THREE road games and two of them are Pike and North Central?
  23. Good stuff. Absolutely mind blowing to me that after week 3, Pike could be sitting at 3-0, while BD is 0-3.
  24. You said “they had to prove themselves”…wins over a Snider team (that even you are skeptical about ) and WARSAW and you are sold on 8-2/9-1?
