  1. Did some redecorating for my neighbor…
  2. They lost to CG on the road in the last minute and lost a close one to a national top 100 team in Trinity (KY)...how much lower can one honestly have them? Also, can you be specific about how they are being "outcoached?" This is the second time you have claimed that unless I am mistaken.
  3. Because it gives Merrillville a share of the conference title....that's why.
  4. Could also make the argument this game is an absolute MUST win for the Irish so they are treating it like a “rivalry game.” A loss this weekend and the ship hits the bottom of the ocean.
  5. Cade McNamara…don’t miss twice.
  6. Has little to do with Michigan though I am hoping that Michigan's 10/11 win season that is forthcoming will allow them to poach a few ND recruits, lol. And if you think they are winning 9 games with Drew Pyne under center, you are kidding yourself.
  7. Yep. Never been more excited to potentially be wrong in my lifetime. They are now decisive underdogs in at least 3 (BYU, Clemson, USC) of their remaining games.
  8. The late 1980's were a glorious time in the Hoosier state for the reversible jacket crew. Not so much since. Yep. The Irish are "stuck" with Freeman. If whomever replaces Rees doesn't work out in a couple of years, he will really start feeling some pressure though. (I will never be more happy in my life to lose money...(I was on record all summer stating the over on ND wins at 8.5 was a lock)).
  9. So many more posters in the Trump thread below...
  10. In the era of NIL and college sports mirroring the professional game more so each day, in your opinion are college athletes (particularly revenue sport athletes) above being booed for underperformance? This is currently a hot discussion topic in the hometown of my favorite college program. Quarterback A returned after leading his team to a conference title, win over its main rival and playoff performance the year prior. Was told that the position was still up for grabs as Quarterback B has as higher ceiling (also comes with a higher risk in my opinion) and had a great offseason. Quarterback A would be known in the modern era as a "game manager." Quarterback B was a 5 star out of high school, possesses a skill set running the football that Quarterback A does not and can make a few more throws than Quarterback A. Quarterback B would be known in the modern era as a "dual threat." Quarterback A starts game 1, is not very impressive. Quarterback B comes in and looks the part...fans boo. Quarterback B starts game 2, lights the scoreboard up and checks every box. Quarterback A comes in after the game is in hand and is once again not very impressive...fans boo. I've seen arguments on both sides here. Argument A: What I outlined above. In the era of NIL and college football mirroring the pros, no one is above being booed for a poor performance. Argument B: These are still kids. They chose to play for your university. They deserve better. Thoughts?
  11. BD hosted Brownsburg but your other point is true. That one is forgivable as I am sure many voters simply look at the box score. LC has respectable losses to Westfield and HSE and comfortably beat Warren. That one is inexcusable.
  12. I'm not sure "afraid" is the term I would use. Embarrassed, more likely.
  13. And though Warren turned it over multiple times, it was still a comfortable win by LC. I think the pollsters are obviously placing a lot of emphasis on what is an overrated King (MI) squad whom Warren beat soundly. King plays Cass Tech this weekend so we will get a bit of an idea as Cass Tech lost to Carmel.
  14. I can't be the only one who has noticed this thread is mainly down to 4 folks sharing back and forth. Remember in 2020 when EVERYONE seemed to have an opinion (and make it known) regarding politics? What happened to all of them? I guess you can only reply with "at least he's not Trump" so many times. #Unity #BuildBackBetter
  15. Ah, now I get it. Thought you were referring to the list I posted. My bad. So SAMFORD > Oregon? Georgia only beat them by 33. This is a fruitless exercise...
  16. Couldn't agree more. Why even play the games?
  17. Those are Sagarin RATINGS. To put it in perspective, the two teams you mentioned (Oregon and Arizona) would be approximately 10 points apart on a neutral field.
  18. Was halfway kidding but looking at Sagarin if you combined the two conferences… 1. Utah - 9 2. Oregon - 14 3. USC - 15 4. Washington - 21 5. Oregon State - 35 6. App State - 42 7. Arizona State - 43 8. Marshall - 44 9. Washington State - 50 10. UCLA - 53 11. Louisiana - 54 12. California - 59 13. James Madison - 62 14. Arizona - 65 15. Stanford - 69 16. Georgia Southern - 78 17. Georgia State - 96 18. Coastal Carolina - 100 19. Colorado - 103 20. Old Dominion - 110 21. Southern Miss - 113 22. Troy - 115 23. ULM - 132 24. Texas State - 168
  19. The “chosen one” has CHOSEN surgery? Lou chimes in…
  20. Here we go: Ben Davis @ Warren Central: One teams’ quarterback play has elevated it to a state championship contending program where as the other teams quarterback continues to shoot its squad in the foot. The Giants have had this game circled on their calendar for 365 days after last year‘s meltdown on the west side. The Warriors have to take care of the ball to stay competitive in this one. If “August Warren” shows up they have a chance but the last two weeks have not been promising. Giants roll 30-17. Carmel @ Lawrence North: Both teams fairly easily disposed of inferior opponents last week to set up this weeks showdown. Carmel has the talent advantage here for arguably the first time in 2-3 years. They still found a way to win those contests and will do so once again. Hounds win 27-14. North Central @ Center Grove: The O’Shea experiment is expiring and a trip to the southside will do the Panthers no favors this week. Center Grove showed championship mettle in coming from behind on the west side last week to extend their in-state winning streak over 30. Don’t let your kids watch this one. CG wins 56-7. Pike @ Lawrence Central: Is it too early to talk about a changing of the guard on the east side? After shocking Warren last year in the sectional, the Bears then went into a hostile environment and took advantage of multiple turnovers to knock off Warren last week. Have to avoid a let down this week because Pike is more than capable. The Red Devils kept things respectable against Carmel but just aren’t ready for prime time. LC wins 27-10. What say you?
  21. A huge week in determining the conference championship forthcoming. What I perceive as the top four teams in the conference finally go head to head. Lets start alphabetically: Avon @ Franklin Central: Sorry to keep dogging on the Orioles but this is once again an example of the past versus the future. The Orioles could not stop Brownsburg last weekend in what has now turned into a lopsided rivalry. The Flashes dropped a close one to Zionsvile. One team struggles scoring but the other team cannot stop anybody. The Oriole D is the medicine FC needs. Franklin Central 27-20. Brownsburg @ Fishers: Two teams coming off rivalry contests with different results as a Brownsburg trucked Avon and Fishers dropped a heartbreaker to HSE. All would be forgotten were the Tigers to knock off what many perceive as the top team in Indiana. I think this one is going to come down to the wire and these games make Fishers dangerous in November. Brownsburg 31-28. Hamilton Southeastern @ Westfield: Sorry BD/WC, this is the game of the week in Indiana. This will be a true litmus test for the Royals to prove all of the offseason hype was warranted. I could see a bit of a hangover here after the close overtime win over their rivals. Not willing to stick my neck out too far I guess as I have been on record as saying I have to see Westfield lose a conference game before I believe someone else is ready to take the mantle. Rocks hold ‘em off 23-21. Noblesville @ Zionsville: Perhaps I wrote the Millers’ obituary a bit prematurely as they gave Westfield all they could handle last weekend after getting blown out by Fishers the week prior. This is my “upset” of the week. Noblesville wins 27-21. What say you?
