Best way to beat a very athletic team is to eat up clock and wear them down. -

NIC Teams in Sectional Championships

While Chesterton may look better on paper and who they played my gut feeling is Penn finds a way at home. It would not surprise me if the SJ-NP game is much closer than is was in Sept. (35-0) SJ defense is playing well. But the NP offense seems to have found more than the one RB. In the end NP should prevail. Jimtown & Marian will depends on mistakes and if the Jimmies do not allow big plays out of Marian. I can see this one going down to the end maybe with the team having the ball last winning. The Knights being at home -

Yes, it was Carroll that was listed as natural grass in the book LaVille looked like a mud bath on the sports last Friday night. I am not sure what they can do to make it somewhat decent. There may be some lake effect rain this week. Who knows how much sun plus they are talking about heavy frost a couple of nights this week as well A couple of weeks ago Mishawaka has a large puddle of water on one end of the field, I believe the last week of the regular season. Their field always seems to be pretty worn by this time of year. -
So there are 48 sights where sectional championships will be held this weekend According to the 2021 Football Digest based on what is in the book the following was derived 6A - 7 games on turf and 1 on natural grass 5A - 7 games on turf and 1 on grass 4A - 6 games on turf and 2 on grass 3A - 4 games on turf and 4 on grass 2A - 3 games on turf and 5 on grass 1A - 1 game on turf and 7 on grass These #'s were derived from the digest and some information may have changed since it was submitted to print 28 on turf and 20 on grass The next question would be what if any of the grass fields are worn or tore up from games last weekend?

State tournament and playing fields

As more and more turf fields appear in Indiana it would seem the time has come to start talking about neutral sights for semi states and maybe regionals. I am sure people can think of many places that would be great venues for a big game. People say the gate and concessions. I am not sure how that is divided up past the sectional but it would seem some formula could be used to help the schools playing -

South Bend St Joe 15 Logansport 14 Many would call that an upset -
There was a priest at Andrean Fr. Eckert who raised a lot of money for the stadium named after him. Sometimes you cannot wait on the administration as they will always say they need the money for other things

Adams to run over Goshen eventually KV over Riley NP to put Plymouth out of their misery CMA over Clay - Will Clay field a team in 2022? Glenn because of the athlete who I hear is now a RB Jimtown Marian - Washington will not be able to handle Atkinson Bremen Logansport over SJ. - 2 years ago SJ destroyed the Berries. Last year Logansport ran all over SJ. SJ defense may keep it close but no offense will doom the Tribe -
While leaders in the corporation and city will blame vouchers, there is one strong charter grade school and high school in SB. The parochial schools are not full. But what they never consider is how many students have gone to John Glenn, LaVille, New Prairie, Mishawaka, Penn, Niles, and Edwardsburg. Open enrollment is an even bigger factor in losing kids along with affordable housing especially in rental housing. There are a pyramid of issues in South Bend not all related to the schools. Plus the big fight yesterday at Clay does not help either.

I get frustrated with the diocese and then the schools when someone wants to make a donation for something it takes an act of congress to accept it. But if you give them straight cash with no restrictions the gold plate is there.
-
South Bend schools are like Hammond and back some years Gary. I do not see any similarities to FW as they are not losing kids by the multitudes. Indy has down sized high schools greatly and the reopen a couple. Some of their former high schools are charter. Until SB figures out how to downsize their buildings then find the right person to bring the program back not much is going to change. If they are content with the way the program is then parents will have to look at other options in this era of open enrollment and vouchers. Plus recently it seems there are more parents moving to Mishawaka and their kids transfer to Mishawaka. The years of failing buildings academically with no plan to fix is is catching up with them SB is expecting to lose another 800 kids next year. That is more than one building. Hammond made the bold decision a few years ago now SB has to.

So, not being from FW, is there room for a field at Snider? When they built the school was it too costly to put a field in then? In reading this discussion I am just trying to understand the logistics on the situation
