  2. Right now NP seems like the team to beat in the big school division.
  3. Sounds like Mishawaka dominated..........they may be the favorite Penn loses to Laporte and next week Indy Cathedral for the Kingsmen Northridge is too physical for St Joe tonight Culver Academy over Marian
  4. Great when programs take on a challenge like Chatard is doing with Warren Central. This just will help the Trojans come tournament time.
  5. The highlight is Mishawaka and Elkhart. Watching the Cavemen last Friday night on TV you have to be disciplined in your defensive approach. If you commit too soon you are sunk. They key will be how well disciplined the Lions are. (wish they have been more original in a nickname)
  6. I think Elkhart has to show they are reloading and not rebuilding. I watched the Marin/Mishawaka game and Mishawaka surprised mebased on what they had lost. Having a solid QB is a great beginning for any team. I lean to Mishawaka at home.

  9. Not to take away from week 1 but any thoughts on a scrimmage you might have watched.
  10. This week the St. Joe community said good by to Fr. Cam a long time supporter of St Joe and who was on the sidelines for many years. He died at the age of 90 and was buried yesterday in his hometown of Cleveland. He touched many students and athletes lives while he was involved at SJ. Up until last year every game we talked before the beginning of the game whether it was home or away. It will be a little strange to look across the field and not see him there. RIP Fr Cam, you lived a good faithful life as a servant of Our Lord.
  11. July 1 Ancilla is now part of Marian University Indianapolis - the football team they have in Indy has been very successful
  12. Anyone know if there have been any transfers or new players that would add to any NIC team? Anyone opting out of football for whatever the reason? Interesting Elkhart is replacing Mishawaka with Carmel for two years.
  13. So I was over in City today and talked to a person who told me they have made major upgrades in athletic facilities. There is new turf at Ames Field, new bleachers in the Wolves Den, over $100,000 spent to improve their weight room, and a new design for the Wolf Head Symbol. This person said their athletic program has quality coaches throughout and could take off big time. They also are marketing the school corporation with a catchy slogan: "One City, One Pack"
  14. St. Joe is advertising for a part time strength and conditioning coach. Not sure why part time but would assume has to do with financial and the budget. This is something that is grossly needed for their athletic program. Not sure why it took so long since it had been talked about a few years ago.
  15. SO the concept that later start times proved educational worthy did not work?
  16. This appears to be a better situation than Niles for this bright, young coach.
  17. The SBCSC is more worried about am empty building becoming a charter school than improving their overall program. The Democratic political machine got the tax money through on the back of a town where about 30% live under the poverty level. They lost over 400 more kids this year and who knows with next. They need 2 high schools and one trade/vocational/ career high school. but they won't do that. The school board seems to be a puppet to what the corporation wants.
