  1. Well Oregon could have a big letdown after Ohio St. Not really surprised with Penn winning. NP has the running QB and RB but passing game very suspect based on what I saw when we were there. Nice club could make a run in 4 A
  2. St Joe 49 Washington 0. Running clock second half. The Panthers are not very good Adams 7 RIley 6. The weak schedule is now showing the Cats are not what they were playing weaker competition Penn beat NP Elkhart shuts out Marian
  3. Will Elkhart be ready after the big game at Penn? Big test for the new coach. Nothing would surprise me if Marian comes out on top Penn does not do well at NP. This could be a close game. Another defensive battle? Or will NP find their running game? Not impressed with Riley. Adams scoring 48 on Washington not a game changer for me. Maybe Riley defense wins this one. St. Joe - will the O come to play the full game? Washington is winless and struggeling.

  5. A shoot out between NP and Marian 42-28 St Joe beats RIley 29-0 Adames wins over Washington Elkhart 7 Penn 3 a defensive struggle or not efficient offenses?
  6. Friday, Oct. 4 Elkhart at Penn ©, 7:30 pm New Prairie at Marian ©, 7:30 pm Adams at Washington ©, 7 pm St. Joseph at Riley ©, 7 pm First place is at stake this weekend as Elkhart travels to Penn.
  7. No much to say about the games this week. St Joe and Elkhart were 17-14 at half E. One of their TD's was a pick 6. They came out in the second half and played better. Went more to the power running game and wore SJ down. The Huskies ran the ball better but some self -inflicted errors (bad snaps, couple of interceptions, untimely penalties) got in their way. The D line for the Lions was not as strong and intimidating as the press make it sound. An Elkhart fan on the sidelines told me at halftime this is how they play all year, better in the second half. I will say this. Their coach is changing the sideline culture.
  8. NORTHERN INDIANA ALL TIMES EASTERN CONFERENCE ALL GAMES W-L Pts OP W-L Pts OP Streak Elkhart 3-0 121 16 4- 1 154 35 Won 4 Penn 3-0 103 20 4- 1 159 89 Won 3 St. Joseph 2-1 31 39 3- 2 72 69 Won 1 Marian 2-1 75 32 2- 3 123 101 Lost 1 New Prairie 1-2 62 30 3- 2 151 44 Lost 1 Riley 1-2 36 90 2- 2 71 90 Won 1 Adams 0-3 26 113 0- 5 46 184 Lost 13 Washington 0-3 26 140 0- 5 68 196 Lost 6 The games this coming week Friday, Sep. 27 Elkhart at St. Joseph ©, 7 pm Penn at Adams ©, 7 pm Riley at New Prairie ©, 7:30 pm Washington at Marian ©, 7 pm
  9. The had a fight at the Washington Riley game just before half. Player ejections so some will not play next week
  10. SJ beat Adams 24-12 The offense inconsistencies continue Half the O line starters did not play Adams scored one TD on a pick 6. The other came late in the game
  11. There are 2 big games but seems little interest. Will Marian try and take away the QB running for Penn and make others beat them. Can Marian's play makers be the difference? If Elkhart plays discipline defense and takes away the QB running with NP then it could be an interesting game. Can NP Handle the their athletes? St. Joe should dominate Adams but it is Homecoming for SJ and let's hope them come out ready to play. Riley takes care of the Panthers
  12. Hard to believe we are halfway through the season already 2 big games: Marian at Penn and New Prairie at Elkhart Friday, Sep. 20 Marian at Penn ©, 7 pm New Prairie at Elkhart ©, 7:30 pm Adams at St. Joseph ©, 7 pm Riley at Washington ©, 7 pm Then you have the battles between the 4 high schools in South Bend
  13. Over many years, this defensive performance by St. Joe was one of the best I can remember. The plan was solid, and the boys followed it. It was an impressive performance. NP seems to have a 2 headed monster and if you keep them in check your chances are good. They contained both of them. Now SJ cannot rest on beating NP as they have to get ready for the Knights and the Holy War So, SB is down to 3 high schools and the product does not seem any better. Looks like Adams/Washington will fight for the cellar. Riley may be the best SBCSC team but will they crack the top 5 of the NIC?
  14. How many QB's are NIC schools having to replace? Penn, Marian, St. Joe, New Prairie, maybe more With Clay closing the few players being sent to other South Bend schools probably will not make an impact. With the tougher schedule it will be interesting to see what Riley does. Recall, they had an amazing run during the regular season and lost to Wawasee in the Sectionals. The schedule is much tougher. Seven straight conference games for all schools this year
  15. John Glenn High School football coach charged with battery against student (wndu.com)
  16. Sort of a surprise but a decision is made what is best for the person
  17. Nope. There have been surveys with suggestions. They brought it down to the top 20 then the final 3 They have had the students /and SJ family involved. The favorite among those who were close to Fr. Bly is the Rams. He had told people for years that if the Indians ever had to go it should be the Rams. I hope not the Huskies since Hartford, Michigan which the tribe went after also, chose that one. The only one close to the name was the Workermen after St. Joseph the Worker
  18. The final 3 names for the new nickname for St. Joe are: RAMS HUSKIES BUFFALO
  19. Thanks for all the help
  20. Is there a list of all of the high schools nicknames in the State of Indiana anyone know about? Thanks for the help
  21. 2024 schedules are stating to come out on John Harrell's football. NIC is playing week3-9 conference games. Changing up where some games have been played St. Joe plays Marian earlier and not at the end of the season Marian now closes with Riley Elkhart ends the year with Adams Riley has picked up FW Wayne See what else comes out
  22. So 46 sports reported Penn dropped Cathedral and Hammond Morton and cancelled the Carmel contract. They will play Washington and Riley. Yeoman states he is glad they were able to keep Valpo and Mishawaka at the beginning of the season. Apperas softball and baseball are not happy since in 25 they go to playing each NIC team 2 home and home. It means losing games against better competition. The other sports were saying they were looking forward to picking up new competition
  23. If Penn were to opt out of NIC football, Culver as a full member would work. Plus you can have odd numbers in the other sports. Just think a natural thing to do Plus the way SB is head in 3 years there may be only 2 high schools
  24. Heard that in December the Mishawaka school board is going to vote to install field turf for the 2024 season
  25. So, the Elkhart Administration let go their football coach after just two seasons. Guess, the program was not going in the direction they expected. Also heard the NIC schedule will be begin on Week 3 through week 9 Not confirmed but was told in week three RIley plays Penn and in week 9 Marian,
