The part about it never being their fault drives me up a wall. Seems to me like especially the last 5-6 years it has gotten way worse. Watch any college basketball game, the moment a ref calls a foul on a player, he either a) throws his hands up and looks at the ref in disbelief or, b) goes over and tries to argue the call with the ref. He’s already made the call bud, just accept it and move on! Not singling out college bball by any means. I’m sure it happens in all sports more now than it used to, but for me I always notice it more with basketball.

The 2A game today was like a boxing match where no one was ever able to knock the other out. A tale of two defensive juggernauts really. Was beyond impressed at how well the BC defense played against a team that was that much bigger than them in size. Those goal line stands were the stuff of legend. Can’t say enough about how well Brownstown played today. They made every person in this community, beyond proud of them. Congratulations to the Braves on an amazing season. Here’s to next year!

I know I’ll catch some flak on this one but do not care. The refs really missed one on the BC TD pass that was called out. Not sure how it looked on tv, but live in-person he was in. Either way, congrats to both teams. That was a heck of physical game to watch.

Wasn’t aware of that, makes sense now. Guess more so what I was getting at is that it was an odd thing too see for the first time in the tiny town of Vallonia 😂

Speaking of declining enrollment— There is a Salem bus and a Seymour bus that come to Vallonia (small town just south of Brownstown on 135) every morning to pick kids up. Not sure how many, but I do see them down in town there.

Unrelated but Brownstown’s 2016 semi state game at Lawrenceburg, IMO, goes down as one of the best football games I’ve ever watched, regardless of skill level. What a game that was.

Heard that Lapel’s back 7 defensive guys are very, very good. Which is to be expected at this point in the tournament. They have any/many guys playing both ways?

Linton looked impressive in their game against what appeared to be a good Sullivan team (I know nothing about them) last Friday. On the other hand, Brownstown’s closest game this year (so far) was still something like a 20 point differential. All that said, Brownstown/Linton game should be a good one. Hopefully the weather is a little better for it this year.

Does Paoli have many guys playing both ways?

Their defense seems to be playing more lights out this year, even more so than last years team. I’m not sure we’ve yet seen what Brownstown’s offense is capable of putting up, especially since the JV is finishing out most games. Just my two cents

Gonna have to screenshot that one coming from a GS guy 😂😉 Side note but I was able to watch some of your game against Heritage Hills. Props to Gibson Southern for being able to finish that one out with the win. That was one heck of a game by two very talented teams.

I’d be willing to bet at least three of those teams on that list would get a running clock going on most of the Hoosier Hills teams. There’s some damn good small school football being played this year.

I read something on Facebook last night about how the current Greencastle QB, used to go to school at Springs Valley. Is there any truth to this? Although Greencastle has a less than favorable record, and almost got a hundred put on them last week, he has put up some good numbers this year. I can’t help but wonder what kind of team SV would have if he were still down there. Any PLAC guys care to elaborate?

I think this group of seniors still have a bitter taste about how their season ended last year. In other words, I’m excited for the tournament to begin. Should be a fun one! Hopefully everybody stays healthy like you said.

I would love to see a rematch of Brownstown and Linton in the regional. Both very good programs with hard nosed kids.

Brownstown guy coming in peace… Will this game be streamed anywhere?

I remember reading his post on FB earlier this year saying that schools that have been consistently uncompetitive should just drop football as an extra curricular… all time dumb take IMO also he can’t get enough of IU losing on the CFP stage. I doubt he’s logged off since they blew the final whistle on that one lol

This is going to have to be my only source for local football talk. Whoever is running the Hoosier Prep Gridiron on FB has some incredibly dumb takes. Talking about IU the way they did after their game with ND last night, especially after the incredible season IU has had, just did it in for me. Maybe they do it for the clicks and reactions, I don’t know.
