It’s somewhat crazy to me that this is the case….like…how many of them started as freshman? And were the older classes ahead of them just small/not that good? off my head the last team I can recall who had this many young kids returning for multiple years was Tell City who was 1A at the time and really lacked numbers. But delta is basically a 4A school regardless…I have to imagine they are going to turn the corner next year or something. At the HS level, having an abundance of 3 year + starters is such an advantage. It’s almost a threshold of where Experience/knowledge of a system > Talent

I mean…I think it’s fair. They have played a lot of teams close. Might have had 2/3 games where they were within a TD midway through the 4th. Certainly feel like they are a better team than the 4-5 record indicates. But that’s 3A and this is 2A talk. if PC can’t beat MD then I’m rooting for North Posey…if North Posey can’t then I’m back to Linton doing it in semi state…if linton can’t do it then MD is taking home the big trophy on thanksgiving weekend (I’m probably forgetting another team worth mentioning so if you are a fan of said team…don’t come after me)

He wasn’t the only one. I think I had them on the preseason HM if not top 10 for 3A. The digest also had them in the top 10 I believe. If I recall, when I looked at them on maxpreps in July/august they had a few seniors and only a few juniors who heavily contributed. Just off the top of my head I think they were returning like 18/19 starters this year and going into next they might have about 15? also the idea of a 4A school moving down to 3A would help them because they would be towards the top of 3A enrollment. but….it looks like it didn’t work out so maybe next year when they have like ten 3 or 4 year starters lol

I just hope they beat Vincennes. I’ve been poking the SIAC all year…if Vincennes wins it’s going to be a long 9 months back to august on here for me lol

It’s NostraDumfries thank you very much. my prediction is with the SW Indiana Pickems. I believe hh has Perry Central as a 24 point underdog…I think PC covers. Again I give them about a 35% chance lol I don’t necessarily think they will beat MD….I just suggested that Perry Central shouldn’t be overlooked. the real irony here is that MD fans are very much overlooking them…yall are so mad that I gave a team a 35% chance to beat Mater Dei. alright alright…since MD is 6-3 I’ll give them a 66% chance of winning. PC will now be lower at 33%. The remaining 1% is that all of these seeding threads get read by the ihsaa and we suspend the tournament a week to seed everyone.

….I think I actually like this system. would be cool to actually see the numbers for Indiana. It just seems like a pretty cut and dry way to do it….you get rewarded for winning….and if the teams you beat, can also beat good teams, you are rewarded for that too….all without actually needing to see what the team names were. it could be done listing everyone as “Team 1” all the way to “Team 1000” with no bias

In some sense….I think Southridge might the #2 team in 3A south. Should Gibson Southern slip up, I think they have a real chance of making it to LOS. i don’t really see anyone who is better in their sectional…or their regional. a semi state game would likely be against Tri West, Webo, Owen Valley, Vincennes Lincoln, Or Gibson Southern….and I’ll take Southridge over any of those except Gibson Southern

Even as a non SIAC guy I liked coming to this thread to see the stats being shown. Honestly the best part of the SIAC now is that since it’s closed off….comparing these stats is completely fair…everyone played everyone

The Vikings could easily be better than PC, I just gave PC the nod because they are 8-1…but NP is 7-2 with losses only to linton and Southridge I believe. im bound to stir the pot a bit if MD and NP play each other lol yeah yeah yeah I get it. im still not picking a stinky SIAC team. I’m here to burn bridges 😘

That would explain it. admittedly, I don’t know Jack about 1A football other that Lutheran should walk to 15-0. I don’t know anything about providence either except that they are 6-3. But I’m assuming they play a tougher schedule to be favored over a 9-0 team

I just want Cathedral to win 6A already since the success factor was implemented, it’s been something everyone has been watching out for. i thought 2015 would have been the year coming off their 5 peat of state titles but it didn’t happen. this might be the year though and would make it a 3 peat

Give me Tecumseh to take it all. Tecumseh is a PAC team in all sports except football, but this is the final year before they rejoin football conference play in the small school division. they are 8-0 (not sure why they didn’t play 9 games) but doesn’t matter as they dominated everyone including 7-2 North Posey and 8-1 Perry Central. this is definitely biased but hey…would love to welcome Tecumseh back to PAC football as a reigning champ and since they are 8-0 I’m not going to pick them to lose

Don’t really have too many thoughts on 5A….but my gut feeling is that Bloomington South is the team to beat out of the South.

I feel like it’s gotta be linton this year….just so dominant….even against a very good Boonville squad they were all over the place finding ways to score and pulled out the win over the 4A boon. now…this is going to ruffle a lot of feathers among my SIAC frenemies….but Mater Dei has a tough round 1 opponent imo who could pull off the upset. Perry Central doesn’t really play anyone too tough and certainly MD has played a MUCH harder schedule….but Perry Central is 8-1 still with their one loss being to 9-0 Tecumseh. PC vs MD probably the sectional final matchup all things considered but they face round 1. MD certainly can’t overlook them in the slightest. will PC win? Ehhh 35/65 chance imo…but certainly a game to watch

I hope youre right lol The thing with GS this year is just how different the team is while being dominant. last year the defense was good but I don’t think it was this good. The DL is wrecking teams and through 9 games I believe 3 DL have over 5 sacks each. The team has also combined for just under 80 TFL I believe, just short of 10 TFL per game….and the craziest part about it…at least in my opinion, the best kid on the DL is a freshman.

Nah no anonymous stuff if we are going to have coaches seed it then they gotta be willing to put their name by their seeding. As for tiebreakers….I think it would be pretty cool if they put the tiebreaker as “most points based on IFCA coaches poll over the entire season) I know it’s a bit of a wild idea….but it would actually mean that a poll matters. Every week when they cast their top 10 or whatever it is…it will matter and not just be a talking point.

Oh come on….it’s 2022…you really think they are going to do this in person? Lol it’s going to be a zoom call. coaches don’t even have to make a drive to exchange tapes. It’s all done from their phone/computer.

Simple idea 1) KEEP all in format 2) coaches of a sectional are in charge of seeding. 3) coaches determine who the top 50% of the sectional is and seed only those 2-4 teams 4) the other 2-4 teams are random draw for who they play everyone is happy

Maybe I’m crazy but I recall back in like 2012/2013 when I first joined this forum that there was a Pickems sub forum where this could all be done by just clicking bubble? Would it not be easier to set that up or is that function not available anymore?

Look at the bright side though….we don’t have to do any of the tallying or the spreads haha.
