  1. @temptation Where in your honorable mention is Southridge? And In comparison to Memorial? not that I think they should be top 25, but I think it would be a really good matchup this year. Not sure who I would pick to win it
  2. That’s where I’m at. It’s 1A/1B with GS getting the slight nod since it’s been 20 straight victories. but it’s a fun game to think about that won’t happen this year.
  3. Saw this and thought it was worth sharing. 5A the only class without an undefeated regular season team
  4. Went through and looked at the play by play on digital scout and found this pretty interesting -Boonville ran 39 plays -the first 2 plays went for 174 yards and 2TDs -Kyle Sokeland reported that the next 37 plays went for 155 yards total. -of those 37 plays….10 of them were either a sack or TFL. Another 8 were either a run for no gain or incomplete pass. - 18/37 ≈ 49%….so basically after the first 2 plays, it was a 50/50 chance than Boonville had a positive play…and that’s without factoring in penalties/turnovers/fumbles. it was certainly a great start for Boonville but looking deeper into it….titans defense pulled it together quickly and went back to doing what they have been doing all year.
  5. I feel like the playing 2 ways thing is a little overblown sometimes. GS does have players playing both ways at times…I mean Delong has been playing in all 3 phases of the game all year just like his older brothers did Tbh….I don’t understand how other teams can have 50+ kids on the team but still start 6 of them on both sides. It’s one thing when you have a talented kid who rises above the rest and earns other roles because of how great they are…and it’s something else when players don’t step up and coaches are forced to play the same handful of kids both ways because that handful of kids are the only ones giving their best effort
  6. I saw on Twitter that after the first 2 plays for Boonville, they were held to 155 yards the rest of the game. I feel like this year there has been a number of games where the opposing team scores first and it’s a good battle in the first half…then the 2nd half comes and GS has made all the right adjustments and the players just take it to another level.
  7. Brownsburg loses to HSE CG loses to Cathedral How do we even rank 6A right now lol
  8. Final Boxscore 19 3rd down attempts…7 4th down attempts….. 61 rush attempts?!?!?!? 400 yards rushing from GS? Whatever way is needed to get the job done. PAC Champs!
  9. Gibson Southern 39 Boonville 21 Final Boonville might have had many fans worried but Gibson Southern this year is playing with so much heart. 3 minutes into the game it was 14-0 but the Titans just don’t give up and I believe they have now extended their win streak to 20 games. Perfect 9-0 season with a big game to win the PAC big school title
  10. Delong with the hat trick and another TD It’s pretty much all Titans for the 2nd half Gibson Southern 39 Boonville 21 under 5 left in the game
  11. Gibson Southern isn’t backing off. They respond with a drive capped with a Delong TD. Go for 2pt and get it extending the lead to 11. GS 32 Boon 21 6 minutes left
  12. Boonville answers Gibson Southern with a drive of their own and they eventually punch it in after crossing into the 4th Qtr. PAT good GS 24 Boon 21 11 minutes left
  13. Boonville and Gibson Southern exchange drives to open the 2nd half 2nd GS possession they make a solid drive but ultimately get stopped at the goal line and take the FG GS 24 Boon 14 3 minutes left in 3rd
  14. this halftime box score is kind wild to me. Gs has been in 3rd down 11 times….they have ran 53 plays…18 first downs….that’s like an entire game. outside of the last td where roberts went 71 yards for the score, Boonville is giving them an absolute game and making them earn everything.
  15. Gibson southern forces Boonville to punt the ball back with a minute left. Devan Roberts immediately takes the ball and breaks off a 71 yard run for a TD. PAT good GS 21 Boon 14 under a minute until half
  16. Gibson Southern with a very long drive. Delong punches his way in for a TD 2pt conversion is good GS 14 Boonville 14 2 minutes left until half
  17. Not sure why they don’t. They have the hudl setup….jokingly they are probably more concerned with live in game adjustments than a live broadcast haha Boonville 14 Gibson Southern 6 have traded INTs and punts. Boonville about to punt now. Under 8 minutes left until half
  18. Gibson Southern responds after getting a stop on defense. Long drive that eventually went for a TD PAT blocked Boonville 14 Gibson Southern 6 3 minutes left in 1st
  19. Boonville is here to play and are going for the big upset Gibson Southern drive stalls, punts to the 11. first play from boon is a QB keeper that goes 89 yards for a TD. 2pt conversion good Boonville 14 GS 0 12 minutes left in 1st Qtr
  20. Gibson Southern @ Boonville Boonville received opening kick. 1st play is an 85 yard run for a TD PAT missed Boon 6 GS 0 literally 15 seconds into the game lol
  21. Idk. I expect GS to win but I just don’t know what to think of Boonville. I think they are better than what many think….but GS’s defense is also playing so damn good. this isn’t to take anything away from the offense as the offense is amazing…but this defense might honestly be better which I think would be a first under Hart. outside of that….sectional draws definitely take away a lot of attention. my prediction is 28-17 GS
  22. I’m aware. Just like Mt Carmel is 3A but it’s more like a low 2A school for Indiana not what I meant though. Like literally big lol. They have 2 tackles who are 6’7 and 6’8 and 300 and 350lbs respectively. And they have big kids every year. Their JV and freshman teams are probably closer to small school varsity size but I was mistaken on them looking for a game. They needed a freshman game last week not this week.
  23. Week 9 Games Castle at Memorial [-3.5] Bosse at Harrison [-14.5] North at Central [+28.5] Reitz at Mater Dei [+9.5] Vincennes at Jasper [+2.5] Gibson Southern at Boonville [+17.5] Pike Central at North Posey [-31.5] Southridge at Forest Park [+41.5] Tell City at South Spencer [+9.5] Washington at Mount Vernon [-21.5]
  24. I think I saw something about Kankakee needing a freshman game. it’s Coach Harts younger brothers team. which idk if we really want that as they are a BIG team. Currently the Illinois 5A #1. John Hart- Brownsburg 8-0 and ranked either #1 or #2 for 6A Nick Hart- Gibson Southern 8-0 and ranked either #1 or #2 in 3A Derek Hart- Kankakee 5-1 and ranked #1 in 5A Illinois talk about a family lol
  25. Maybe I’m looking into it too much…. but could a coach asking for an early running clock just be to get the 7th grade game done and move onto the 8th grade game? as far as I can remember they are played on the same day on the same field…so if a 7th grade team is losing handily there is no need to drag it out. Get the 8th graders out there and get the show on the road. idk…that’s just my perspective and what I remember of going to watch 7th/8th grade games
