Tbf…Charlestown was probably the better team overall in 2012. GS just had all the momentum in that 2nd half and put on the 2nd best comeback that I’ve ever seen. Charlestowns QB was also insanely talented and could do it all The real reason GS won that game was because GS had played close games all year and was coming off 2 back 2 back OT wins in sectionals….and Charlestown was averaging like 65-7 in their games with like only 1 game where the starters played the 2nd half. Down 28-0 and then 49-21 at the half they thought it was over but the opening kick of the 2nd half was a botched squib kick that bounced off a Charlestown players helmet right back to the kicker. From there on, Charlestown put up like 50 yards of offense and went on to lose 56-49 Amazing game the only game that tops it for me is coming back from 17 against a Brebeuf in the state championship last year who was technically a 4A team with over 800 kids playing in 3A

I totally forgot about Hamilton Heights in 2013. The landscape of 3A was so much different back then. I believe Jimtown and Yorktown were also pretty strong in 3A during this time too

This is probably the cringiest tough guy Internet personality I’ve ever come across….and for something as trivial as quick dismissal of your comment. does it anger you that someone would take the time out of their day to tell a bunch of old men in Evansville Indiana that they are wrong about their analysis on high school football of all things? Is that your button? also…I don’t care what you or others think about me 😂 I’ve been on here a decade and have made a fool of myself probably 100 times. Lost tons of debates and the silliest of arguments I tried to make. I’m not here for approval from people. I’m here simply because I love talking about football and this forum is nothing but people who love talking football. If you don’t agree with me you can just have a nice debate with me instead of trying posture yourself as something you’re not

SW Indiana gets plenty of talk the way it is on here. It’s nice reading up on multiple other programs from all around i wouldn’t worry about trying to feature anything in particular…you’re doing great the way it is

Ironically it’s probably the same people who love to use the voucher program to their benefit. why foot the bill for a tax increase for a better school when you have open enrollment and vouchers and can just opt in to a better school. the freedom of choice in education can be a wonderful thing but I’m sure there have been a number of schools who have suffered because of it

For as many times as I get in arguments with memorial fans about teams that DONT include Memorial or Gibson Southern, you would think I would learn to let it go lol But I think Boonville is quietly pretty good and they have some studs. They also get a lot of grief about their schedule but they are still scheduling quality teams. Linton, GS, Heritage Hills, Southridge, Mt Vernon, Paoli, North Knox….these are all winning programs. Winning program who is beating other winning programs. but hey..they could win out and beat GS in week 9…be sitting 7-2 and probably still be the 7th favorite to win that sectional according to some of these guys lol

For 3A….I think last year was about as great as you can get for top players. 3A was absolutely stacked this year idk…I think every team has a few kids they can pound the table for but nobody has a kid where they can say “they are by far and away the best at their position in 3A” personally I think the best football players in the state are at the highest enrollment classes. Definitely a gap from the top of 4A to 3A/2A…which hasn’t been the case lately

Yeah and some of these things are definitely affected by politics. i wasn’t specifically thinking about Carmel and they are probably the best public school to send your kid to….but at the same time they could lose 1000 kids make a new 4A school….and still have either the #1 or #2 for enrollment. google says they have somewhere between 5200 and 5400 kids, with Ben Davis 2nd with about 4400 kids off of those 2 specific school….I just kinda think it would be cool to see some new schools/mascots/teams for sports and I know there are a lot of areas in Indiana where people are talking about the rapid expansion of suburbs and more/less new life to areas….yet almost no talk of any new schools

I have a friend who I often visit in that area and every time I visit I swear it has grown by a few hundred houses. I don’t live in the area but it definitely seems like the suburbs are exploding…and we are getting to the point where some 6A schools could lose 1000 kids for a new 4A school and they would still be 6A by a mile of enrollment

Was just thinking about how some schools are projected to move up to higher enrollment classes and it got me thinking a little bit. a lot of states have 400/500/600+ schools with football programs. Indiana is sitting at around 325-350…somewhere in there. we have schools pushing 5000 kids if not more Are there any new high schools being built/proposed? At some point there will have to be new schools made to be able to take in the ever increasing population

Just a few more years and GS should be 4A and we will get all the answers to our debates come sectionals. it’s going to be a lot of fun on here debating that. The question is…which team gets left out of s24? Are any of the Evansville schools close to joining north/castle in 5A?

This. clifford is also imo at his ceiling He’s a great college QB. Nothing wrong with that…..except that he plays for a program that is looking for that Elite QB to put them over the top and into the playoffs. Unfortunately for him…Allar just happens to be the #1 QB from the 2022 class and the last year or so Allar has been on a rocket ship to the top and improving his game tremendously. i think I recall him absolutely lighting up the Elite 11 competitions and he went from a high 4star to a consensus top 3 QB in just a matter of a few months

I’ve never been inside a casino and I don’t plan to change that lol imagine thinking a willingness to risk money is an indication that you have a good argument. and you’re right…you can have your opinions and I can have mine and to me, your opinion that a 1-4 bosse/1-4 harrison/0-5 Central could beat Boonville by 2 scores is crap. I provided numerous points to support my argument….you humbly bragged about being a sponsor for a sports show, claimed the eye ball test, and then tried to talk about 2018 results like those matter this year. You’re just mad you’re getting pressed and someone is holding you accountable to the claims you are making. if you want to make bold claims you better be prepared to defend it

Chatard/Guerin Norwell/East Noble Gibson So/Heritage Hills Owen Valley/Sullivan these were the ones that stood out to me as games to watch. Obviously teams like west Lafayette/Southridge/Tri West/Webo and plenty of others should be followed but from my quick glance these stood out

Honestly comical I will take “can I get Dumfries off topic for 400 Alex” you made the bogus point about Boonville and got called on it. Don’t sit here and try to shift this to memorial or anyone else when that was never my argument. You can’t win your points above nor can you disprove my points…so don’t come at me now asking for bets against memorial. Moving goalposts is bogus. Either argue your original point and try to prove me wrong or just drop it. I’m not giving you any outs by you dragging memorial into this conversation.
