  1. Linton lost last year 27-28 against what we all can agree was a better MD team than this year….a 1 point game in sectionals. stop talking about 3 years ago or 4 years ago you have done this twice now just go back to last year and look at the teams…we know which teams have improved or regressed from last year to this year. …but hey it’s better to frame your argument if you leave out the context of last years results. People will agree with you more if you point out 4 straight wins and not a narrow 1 point win on a team that is better this year
  2. What were the rankings like before the SIAC became 10 teams similar to 2022 currently?
  3. I know they were leading it in the 4th Qtr. just couldn’t put them away and the game went to OT….and then a 2nd OT. more the reason to think HH is going to be hungry in this game. They are coming off a loss that probably left a lot of them very sour and they are definitely going to try and get redemption/make a statement against GS. what I’m confused about is why @hhpatriot04put GS as 27.5 favorites. I jokingly said I only wanted GS on that line if Boyd was playing but I would still take that line just because it’s HH and it’s a big rivalry game….so like I’m always looking to take an extra victory lap wouldn’t be surprised one bit if GS has everyone fully healthy and it’s still a game that comes down to the wire. South Warren was a nice W but like I said a few weeks ago…GS is going to measure themselves by how they do against HH and that’s still the case
  4. This is more of a wish and check to see thing…but Gibson Southerns freshman schedule is often super flexible with teams sometimes just not having enough players to field a team currently it shows they play Boonville on the 29th of September which would mean it can’t happen….but I don’t know if Boonville has the numbers. I only mention to check a team that doesn’t have any voids right now because a GS vs Chatard freshman game might honestly be the most attended freshman game of the year lol obviously if Boonville has a team they can field this won’t happen…but hey…The GS community would love to play Chatard. unrelated to the freshman team…I’m kinda hoping to see GS/Chatard find a way to have a regular season matchup in the future. Both teams are constantly moving 5A/6A teams on and off the schedule in preparation for the playoffs…why not schedule a game against a top 3A team in the regular season. If anything it’s the best preparation a team could have
  5. I can’t let this go @tangolol your justification is that a 3 win Reitz team last year beat them 41-34….thinking Boonville was great or something…and Boonville was 2-6 entering that game with wins only against Princeton and Washington. if anything….that’s an indictment against the SIAC last year.
  6. Last year they were a 2-6 team lmao they literally only beat Princeton and Washington. so far this year they have beat HH…held Southridge to 13 points in a losing effort…..they also just went toe to toe with a VERY good Linton team. linton probably could win handily against Mater Dei…they are looking great. And if linton looks like they can beat Mater De then I’m sure Boonville can handle bosse/central/Harrison Boonville has some studs on their team and their defense is playing solid right now You are over here saying Harrison and bosse could beat them by 2 scores or more….and that they need an 0-5 central team to upset memorial or Reitz….IF ANYONE IS GOING TO UPSET MEMORIAL OR REITZ IN S24 ITS BOONVILLE i usually like your comments but come on man. Your argument makes zero sense right now given what we have seen these teams do so far
  7. Yeah I’m with 32 you guys may not like where you’re at but like…I still view HH as a must win and a very tough opponent. Would be idiotic to overlook HH in any way.
  8. I’m going to have to firmly disagree about bosse beating Boonville by a couple of scores. Or really the bottom half of the SIAC. do I think Boonville can win S24? Not really…especially with how good I think Reitz is…but like…Harrison, bosse, central are a combined 2-13 right now….feels very ambitious to just assume they can beat anyone by multiple scores just a weird flex lol. If you want to talk about the SIAC beating them in s24 at least talk about memorial/Reitz more. just so disrespectful to claim that two 1-4 teams and an 0-5 team could handily win. Like what do you even have to make that claim
  9. Gibson Southern is more hurt by playing Washington/Washington scoring 14 points in the 4th against the JV/backups on a fumble return td and KR td. sure taking a 0 for SoS on sagarin for south warren wasn’t ideal but Washington having such a low ranking + showing they scored 20 really messed with things regarding the SIAC last year I thought that sagarin and other rankings were biased against the SIAC. There were moments last year where good SIAC teams were ranking incredibly low. it is weird to see such a shift but ultimately I think the shift this year is more “normal” while the SIAC is closed off…it’s incredibly important for them to make playoff runs. These ranking systems need SIAC teams to play as many out of conference games in playoffs as possible…which is kinda hard when almost an entire 4A sectional is SIAC
  10. What’s curious is the rumors were at the VL/Castle game so either some VL fans feel they should be in the PAC or some castle fans don’t think VL belongs in the SIAC. unless there is some other random fan who decided to go to that game instead of their favorite team lol
  11. Also playing in The Jungle. Much more difficult than at The Jewell
  12. Living in Wisconsin, I find out maybe a few hours before the opponent does lol. i do think our sophomore qb is good enough to win the rest of the regular season…but 4 TDs over HH…feel like we need our best 11 guys out there for that to have a chance
  13. I think it’s fair girls basketball, Softball, and football….those are definitely the top sports for GS. Maybe golf. But that’s more of something on the rise with the girls squad very solid and the boys being elevated massively by the sophomore boy who finished like 12th in state as a freshman
  14. I’m pretty sure Gibson Southern has no interest in the SIAC. GS loves having the flexibility on their schedule. I would think if anything GS wants the SIAC to split into divisions so that they can have out of conference games which could open up some great matchups against Memorial/North
  15. You know what the packers have that they don’t though? the ability to have a tailgate in your front yard across the street from Lambeau. Or at the minimum just walk to the stadium from your house all you suckers gotta drive. I can drink all I want and take a 20 minute walk home lol it must really suck to lose to the packers and then have to drive home in shame, sober lol
  16. Amazing if he earns playing time next year it’s going to be weird seeing Sellers/Scheller/Delong in 2023 knowing in 2013 it was the same lineup just the older brothers haha
  17. I’m not aware of any younger sellers than Isaac…but Isaac played for Gs 2016/2017 and has been a coach since then I believe. At least for last year GS had both Sellers on the sideline coaching. An understated thing that helped Brady have the year he had no doubt. Maybe I’m just old now. Nick was a freshman when I was a senior….and he graduated in 2015/16….yeah I’m old now
  18. I wasn’t even aware there was a coaching change. This would make more sense new era…some changes. Program needs a year to adjust but everything is still in place to be Uber successful. side note im glad GS played Whiteland as a covid game in 2020 last minute schedule…because since then I don’t know if I want GS playing them 😂 I believe it was a loss in 2020 and Whiteland has only improved
  19. Castle at Reitz [-3.5] Bosse at Memorial [-28.5] Harrison at Vincennes [-24.5] Mater Dei at North [+2.5] Jasper at Central [+15.5] Boonville at Mount Vernon [+7.5] Gibson Southern at Heritage Hills [+27.5] I’m only taking this if Boyd is the QB this week lol. Pike Central at North Knox [-36.5] Tecumseh at North Posey [-6.5] @hh definitely going to audit you at the end of the year to see if you were screwing me haha
  20. James Franklin is meh to me i like Penn state because I play devy fantasy football and they have a lot of guys I really like and continually pump out great NFL guys who can produce early in their careers. penn state would be better to bench Clifford for Drew Allar imo. The WR talent they have there would be better served but then again Penn state is a year out from a legit playoff run….maybe 2
  21. I don’t want you to hedge against yourself on a bet lol I think Penn state/OSU and then they lose to someone they shouldn’t might even be Maryland. 10-2 also possible and I’m not against it….but I don’t think they are nearly as good as last year
  22. For the annoyance, yeah I would put Minnesota over MU. 3 years ago they were 11-2 and last year 9-4. It’s not like they are Rutgers. ultimately though. I see this Michigan team as a 9-3 team and probably finishes #20-25 in the nation hasaan haskins had to have some crazy games last year with 20+ TDs to get them where they were and they had Aiden Hutchinson who was by far and away the best college defender. There is no eye test for this team right now…it’s just riding the success of last year while getting confirmation bias against truly one of the worst schedules so far. They haven’t been tested at all and it’s going to only take 1 close game with a conference opponent for people to move them closer to #10 immediately. 1 loss and they probably drop to 15 because nobody will pick them over OSU at that point. And that’s the problem. The actual best programs can take a loss and still be ranked in the top 10 because they still have something to point at and say “we are still great”. If Michigan loses they have last year.
  23. Yeah I feel like CE is trying to recapture some of that momentum they had in the previous 15+ years. Just 1 really off season last year and now it seems like they are on their heels a bit but still fighting to regain control.
  24. I think people are too hung up on last year and how much of an impact haskins/Aiden had for that team. i just don’t think they have proven anything yet…I sure as hell don’t think they should be ranked 4th in the country. i know Penn state has taken some losses out of conference but at least they schedule those games. there are 7 teams currently 3-0 in the B1G and 4 who are 2-1. the teams Michigan has played are right now a combined 0-9 against FBS opponents this year and have 2 wins against FCS schools the fcs schools are Duquesne University who is 1-3 and lost to Hawaii by just 10 points. Their 1 win was against an NAIA school that is typically a .500 team and Central Connecticut State who is 0-3 and lost 28-3 against Connecticut….a game that was 7-3 at the half and 14-3 entering the 4th Michigan loaded with 4 and 5 star talent is playing teams that can barely win against bad FCS schools. im just not going to give them any credit until they do something worth noting. All the teams that are 3-0 right now Penn State with #37 SoS Ohio State with #69 Indiana with #102 Maryland with #105 Rutgers with #116 Minnesota with #130 Michigan with #131 it’s that bad I also wouldn’t be surprised if Maryland gives them all they can handle. Maryland just happens to have Tua’s little brother at QB and he can sling it.
  25. Part of these rankings is recent performance. CE was unranked last week I think but now moving up with the W Memorial was held back the first 2 weeks with losses due to not having all of their guys. I think this is a list that is expected to change over time more than other rankings and it’s probably more suited towards gauging momentum. Linton is 5th but it would be a tall task for them to beat most of these teams I think. They could get it done still but I don’t think we can look at it as like “well _____ is ranked higher so they would win”
