Gibson Southern 21 Southridge 14 Southridge had a fumble. Listening to SR radio station…they are not happy about the call. Could hear the fans screaming. That fumble resulted in a Gs td and first passing Td for Soph. Liam Bryant in first career start -

I always respect when people but out high energy posts. I’m sure there are a number of PAC fans who have eyes on this game -
Oh wow. Reminds me of one of my favorite Coaches at GS when I played. Coach Paridaen (Now HC at North). I believe he was living in Evansville and was teaching/coaching at Eastern Greene for a few years. coaches who do that to get their foot in the door are a cut above most. Takes a lot of commitment to make those long drives every day. Turns your entire fall into 12/13/14 hour days

Definitely a great coach. I obviously have Hart as #1. Coach B I think is 2A to Coach Wilk at HH being 2B coaching is just so big of a difference at the smaller high school levels and I think that’s why we see a lot of reloading between these 3 teams And if I’m not mistaken, all 3 started at their programs in 2012/2013. It was almost a changing of eras in the pocket when it happened. I believe the entire PAC changed coaches at least once between 2012 and 2014. To add…. isn’t the Mt Vernon coach a Coach B guy? I believe I recall reading he was once the assistant there

stick around…we need more PAC fans besides HH and GS and the 1/2 north posey fans. it’s going to be really interesting to see how this one unfolds. I think it’s always tough coming off a big emotional win and then going on the road to another top notch opponent. GS has to get off the bus for this one and be ready. Also going to be interesting to see how this defense handles SR. I don’t think GS has seen the type of offense SR runs. The DL has been very impressive this year so this will be a fun challenge getting new looks with lots of motions and fakes

Definitely feels like radio silence. But SR fans have been rather quiet all season so far. Maybe their fans just haven’t logged on here as much this year as they have in previous years. but that’s just my perspective and just speculation at best. kinda wish we would hear more about this team because this seems like one of the better teams they have had in the last few years…at least since the 2017/2018 years

That’s where I’m at. Southridge’s starting defense hasn’t allowed a single point this year and the JV only gave up 7 to Washington in week 1 or something like that between that and GS’s rushing defense, I just have a hard time thinking this is a high scoring affair. I think anything the winning team needs to score 28 I’ll take GS 28-17 with a late TD to seal the game….but otherwise I see the game as a one score game for most of matchup

Week 5 Games Central at Reitz [-23.5] Mater Dei at Jasper [+14.5] Memorial at Harrison [+17.5] North at Bosse [+14.5] Vincennes at Castle [0] Gibson Southern at Southridge [+27.5] Heritage Hills at North Posey [+20.5] Linton at Boonville [+7.5] Mount Vernon at Forest Park [+20.5] Pike Central at Washington [-17.5] Tecumseh at Perry Central [+13.5] it feels weird that you have the Reitz Central game closer than the GS Southridge game

2022 3A outlook
DumfriesYMCA replied to DumfriesYMCA's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Probably better to just search “Chatard Southridge 3A” I posted a link but then it got off topic and down a rabbit hole there were multiple threads but some of your Southridge friends started one topic back in February regarding the matter -
2022 3A outlook
DumfriesYMCA replied to DumfriesYMCA's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
It’s a little of everything some schools stick to their historical schedules and it works. Heritage Hills comes to mind for this. If they have the horses their schedule doesn’t matter they will show up and play. other schools like Gibson southern have learned that playing above their class is the way their program needs grow and mature through a season. travel and what not come into play too for some teams…and scheduling is hard. Gibson Southern schedules 5A/low 6A teams every year but I think for the longest time many of the bigger schools didn’t want to schedule them because they didn’t think it would be a competitive game for their kids. I have to imagine there are plenty of other 3A schools who have the same issue and just have to try and find games whether it’s playing down or out of state -
If you really think about it….this is really because kids are listening to their coaches and sticking to the gameplan as it unfolds. you don’t see as many punt returns because punters are trying to get hang time and minimize a return….and the return kids are more disciplined/not selfish and will only take the return if it’s a situation that is favorable to the team. is safety a factor? Yes…but we have rules for protecting the players already. This is more about teams wanting to just take the field position and get their offense out there…minimize the risk of not getting the defense off the field. if you want more punt returns in todays game you need to find matchups where the talent isn’t proportionate….like a punter on a team who can kick it further than his teammates can run in 6 seconds….or a returner who is a step above everyone in the speed department.

KY #10 South Warren @ Gibson Southern

I didn’t think about that aspect…but I didn’t sub in much 😅 that does seem like something logical and a good reason why though. -

I don’t think it did here Like what is the problem if a player is all the way down by the endzone….if they are out of bounds and don’t interfere with the officiating crew or anyone working the game….there is nothing wrong with it…but it’s a rule for some reason. and to me…I just can’t see a reason for why you have to restrict a team to a certain area on the sidelines. -

I’ve always wondered why do we have the rule of players in the box on the sidelines. like I just don’t see the problem if they were outside the box…then again when I played I was always getting yelled at because I would be hyped up on the sideline and next thing ya know im at like the 15/10 yard line and coach was yelling at me to get back lol -
Oh I’m a staunch bears hater so much so that I have never started a single bears player on any of my fantasy football teams in the 10 years I’ve played. not a single one of em i also have a shirt of Aaron Rodgers that says “I still own you” lol wont find someone who hates the bears more than me 😂
