Whiteshoes National Top 100 - August 31
DumfriesYMCA replied to whiteshoes's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
👀👀👀 That’s crazy money….but on the other hand….8M might be a reasonable price…I mean…if I could control the Wisconsin Badgers, I would probably be willing to spend millions to get an Uber Elite QB who could potentially put the program over the top. i often joke that as a badger fan I have no interest in playoffs….just the Rose Bowl ….but it’s a joke haha lemme see the badgers playing for a natty -
Whiteshoes National Top 100 - August 31

I see Center Grove is ranked right by Long Beach Poly. big fan of Long Beach poly lately. They have this QB named Nico who is that dude. Elite passing prospect elite dual threat as a runner. Larger than life personality and yet according to everyone who meets him…his character as a person is just top notch as well. i think the kid is going to be a superstar one day…I just don’t understand why he chose Tennessee of all places…especially as a Cali kid -
Mt Carmel gets turf
DumfriesYMCA replied to DumfriesYMCA's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I got my wish! Mt Carmel announced their week 1 game for 2023 (Indiana week 2) that they will be playing Gibson Southern. I assume this is because New Albany was a 2 year contract and it’s now been 2 years…so GS moved to find a new opponent so many connections between these two schools and like I said previously …despite being 15 miles apart, to my knowledge this will be the first matchup on the football field for these two teams -
NIL and High School Athletics

I think it’s very short sighted to suggest anyone playing sports collegiately is getting a participation trophy. speaking from personal experience, even as a D3 lacrosse player who got 0 kickbacks for college costs….the amount of work everyone has to put in is a lot….i mean I played at most 5 minutes a game if that and still had to put in all the work everyone else did. At any level of college but especially say D1 football….there is no just participating…you are on that team and putting in incredible hours of work trying to improve and help the team in any way you can….it really doesn’t matter if you are a blue chip prospect or not…if you want to be on any sports team at the collegiate level you are working your butt off day in and day out -
NIL and High School Athletics
DumfriesYMCA replied to DumfriesYMCA's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
The collectives is the big thing because I agree I don’t see it as that profitable for advertising and such…but colleges able to set up collectives so that everyone on the team is paid and not just limited player is the most important thing. with collectives under NIL you don’t have to be a 5star player…you don’t even have to be a 4star player you essentially just have to be good enough to make a team roster. It’s definitely something that’s more in reach than many probably realize…and like I said…it would be an incredible leg up in life to leave college with say 50k in the bank and an education…..and you wouldn’t even need to be a starting player on the team its definitely something that could motivate a lot of kids because who knows how many have just seen sports as a waste of time because it doesn’t help them progress in their life goals -
At work and talking sports. Coworker mentions that he would have probably tried harder in high school if NILs were a thing. which brings me to the question/discussion I want to mention. Now that it’s a lot easier to get paid for athletics in college, with many colleges having a trust fund to pay everyone annually, is the level of competition going to improve? so often I see all the negatives about NIL, but I think there is some good out of it in this form. A lot of high schoolers know that the odds of going pro are very slim and some probably don’t try as hard or give up the sport to focus on academics. Which focusing on academics is never a bad thing….but now it’s entirely possible with just hard work that a kid may get a scholarship for a sport and be able to make an income of $20,000+ while still in college….and that’s an amazing opportunity for kids who think they can’t be a pro athlete…get a free education and leave college with money in the bank or able to start a business/investment.

Does Alijah Price have interest from D1 schools? Been seeing a ton of hype around him and Ben Davis but nothing in terms of D1 interest

2022 3A outlook
DumfriesYMCA replied to DumfriesYMCA's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
After Week 2 Owen Valley is gaining traction. They also did a pretty sweet hype video that they put out last week. getting over 75 on sagarin for a 3A team is hard most years but they are obviously doing something right -
After last week I don’t even want to try and guess how the SIAC plays out this week lol

Yeah I was under the impression the 2 on defense would be platooning in and out. But happy for both! It’s not easy getting varsity starts under hart as freshman

Remember the animal of a DT GS had from 2013 to 2015? Well he has a younger brother lol Assuming I got the right kid….but idk who else it could be. His brother I believe played 3 years on DL and started some his freshman year on the OL. Maxpreps shows that he finished with 71 TFL 9 forced fumbles, 2 blocked punts, and 15.5 sacks in 3 years on the DL…which is even crazier when you think back to how much easier the schedule was from 2013-2015….probably 90% of those games were running clocks so he probably only played the first half of most of those 3 years

I think only 1 got the official start and the others rotated in throughout the game…but still impressive. Impressive to have this many freshman earning varsity time under Coach Hart. as for New Albany…..it’s a big mystery. looking at last years game….it was very senior dominant…for what GS has seen of them, only 3 kids on offense who combined for 10 yards total last year are returning. So i guess whatever there is of film this year is about all we have to go off of. They graduated a lot of their playmakers
