chime in!! The schedule is below with my predictions Andrean at Merrillville, 7 pm - this is my game of week for week 1! Both teams have talent. Andrean led merrillville by 1 at the half last year. But a few key players leaving schools gives merrillville the edge here. I have merrillville by 14! Morton at Portage, 7 pm- both programs are down. But I’ll take Morton by 7 Hobart at Chesterton, 7 pm- Hobart has one of the best athletes in state in gibson. Chesterton graduated too much. Hobart by 14 LaPorte at New Prairie, 7 pm- could go either way! I’ll take Laporte by 7 Lowell at Crown Point, 7 pm - does buzea have the bulldogs ready to compete this year! You bet he does! Crown point opens eyes in the DAC with a 20 point win over Lowell! Michigan City at Warsaw, 6:30 pm- warsaw offense could give Michigan city some problems. The 3 yards and a cloud of dust offense is not the easiest to beat if ran right. Michigan city has one of the top running backs of junior class I’ll take Michigan city in a high scoring game by 3! Munster at Lake Central, 7 pm- nothing to say here expect lake central takes it. Both teams are going to start climbing back to relevance but LC just has to much talent to not win this one. Valparaiso at Penn, 6:30 pm- is Penn of old gone for good? Can Valpo and coach Marshall rebuild there entire team? This is a toss up! I’m taking Penn in a close one by 3

We will see. That’s my pick too. But a lot of games to be played! Everyone needs to stay healthy. But FW/Mishawaka won’t be an easy out in the north. Like I said I feel we coast to semis but after that it’s game time

Zionsville won’t ever see 5A again. They went up on enrollment will be there for a long while

They are a too 5 in 5A but rumblings say this is a building year for them. I hope not. We need competition. After week 1 I feel we will coast to semi

I actually agree with you here. Except I wouldn’t have Valpo on this list. I been saying since last year. Merrillville should be 2 and DC at 1!!! And I’m not sold on NA

Valpo has been in 5A for 4 years already. And Valpo is going to be down this year. DAC top teams this year should be merrillville, city, crown point, Chesterton

May wanna go do more research. Merrillville has a crap ton of transfers again. From Andrean, westside, Ben Davis, Hobart, lake central, Hobart. Again I’ll go out and say merrillville has the same if not a little more talent than last year. Everyone has been replaced except the NT grant. Which you can’t replace a kid of that caliber. 2 Safeys with D1 offers, 2 LBs with D1 offers, Dline is probably all D2, DBs are all Gonna be good they all have intrest but nothing yet. offense side.. QB was replaced by someone better that played last year till week 6 when he got hurt. We have 4 RBs that all have D1 offers (at other positions), and a D1 Wr( marshall) I can go through and name the players if need be 🙂

This year you may be right with no one getting by Elkhart. But I do think CP will become the new Penn here shortly and take over the regional for years to come.

Crown point has a lot of talent returning. They started using underclass me. To start late in season. And they scrimmaged teams from Illinois all summer. Big schools like boilingbrook. They don’t have speed outside of there RB. But coach has taught them to play no penalty football. And that are extremely fundamental sound. And I hate saying that being a pirate. They have probably the best coaching staff in state I believe they have 8-9 former head coaches on 1 staff

Crown point I’m thinking may come out north (1&2) regionals. Even though I’m pulling Elkhart.

Yeah it’s a school choice but entire lake country has opened up open enrollment. Most schools in lake county participate. But there are 4-5 programs in the area that don’t work there pop warmers system at all. So it’s all about transfers

I think crown point is ginna be under the radar. DAC fans don’t see them turning a corner yet. But the rest of state does.

Transfers depending on what they are can always shift the balance. But I guess this had to do with something new coach said to the team and it rubbed alot of parents a negative way. I hope it’s not true I liked seeing the turn west side started to make!

Just a note with transfers.. Gary west side up in the region lost there coach to Hobart. And the new one that stepped in uoset a lot of parents and they are losing people left and right. 4 to Hammond morton 3 to merrillville 3 calumet And a few to Andrean

According to there coach at there booster event yesterday. He said they have 1 returning starter for both sides of the ball, and he is a 2 way player. But they have a lot that got into games last year. Just didn’t start or play the crucial downs in games

I agree only thing I can think is the fact they only have 1 returning starter. And people think city is ginna beat them by 40 or more same with merrillville

I’m trying to figure out what I don’t know about whiteland because that was a suprise and Valpo I ranked is a shock I expected them at #3
