What you are saying is that all the students coming from Gavit and Clark should just forget their history and go with the Hammond name. It is typical in a consolidation for the new school to have a new name and mascot.
This past year Marietta won in 7A and Harrison out of Kennesaw won in 6A over Allatoona. My son played football at Harrison and his daughter played 4 years varsity soccer at Allatoona.
Valdosta was dominant for decades, but they have dropped off. They are no longer in the largest school category. They are 6A now I believe. They are an independent city school district and there has been a lot of population shift to their Lowndes County schools.
Vincennes Lincoln has selected Tim Young as their new head coach. He formerly coached at Vincennes Rivet. He coached Rivet to one state championship and five semi state championships.

Georgia has a lot of really good 7A schools. I would list the top ones as Lowndes County (Valdosta), Colquitt County ( Moultrie), Grayson, Parkview (Decatur), Marietta, and McEachern (Powder Springs).
I haven't researched this, but I doubt there are few other states that use a blind draw in the football playoffs. Georgia certainly doesn't and I don't think any neighboring states here do. No NCAA football playoffs use a blind draw. Indiana is always way behind the rest of the country in most things and this is another example of that.
I have never visited the Cathedral campus. However, looking at it on Google Earth it looks like they have an artificial turf covered football field. It also appears that there is about 150' of woods to the north of the field separating it from the Retreat House. Wouldn't there be plenty of room to build seating there? Just asking.
Rivet seems to have gotten into an easier sectional. They are now in 64. Sectional 63 loses Rivet and gains Orleans making it even tougher.
Vincennes Lincoln seems to have a pretty good assignment in Sectional 31. Southridge is gone and that will mean no more long drives to Huntingburg.
He played at Forest Park. He previously was an assistant at Perry Meridian and then head coach at Benton Central near Lafayette.

The latest reclassifications have Southridge dropping down to 2A in boys basketball. This will leave Sectional 31 with only 5 teams. Sectional 30 to the east has 7 teams so it might be reasonable to assume one of them could be reassigned to Sectional 31. Brownstown Central is the furthest north and west of the core of Sectional 30, so I think the might end up being the team to be reassigned. Also with Southridge out as a host, it looks like Washington, Vincennes, and Princeton might end up rotating as hosts.
