We are not even allowed to speculate on here. I think this cult of protecting coaches has gone too far. They don't do that on Yappi or other high school boards. We need more administrative balance on this site. Someone with some marketing savvy who understands how to drive forum traffic.
We have great threads sitting untouched in the Next Level Forum. Why hasn't someone identified that and moved them to the main forum so all user can have access and participate?
That's what happens when you run a not for profit operation.
lack of creativity and accountability.
My status as a state and federal taxpaying citizen gives me the right to inquire about the staffing of government school entities.
Perhaps you should go start your own message board/forum... OH WAIT.....

I'm not getting into that silly argument you had with another poster.
Hes too slow. He needs to get faster. Gaining another 15 lbs of muscle will not help him get any faster. He will get stiffer and lose speed.
I would push him to get down to around 218 and see what he can do.
You should probably leave that to Dave Ballou

Kevin Wright Hired Dave Ballou (from Avon Standout and IU player) as a Strenght & Conditioning Coach away from Avon when Wright got the HC job at IMG. Ballou left 2 or 3 years ago and went to Notre Dame for a year and is now at IU. I am guessing Kevin Wright has an offer on the table from a Division I program... Whether thats a Coordinator/Position Coach or a HC job at a lower level Division I program.

So all WL had to do was beat, Guerin, then Chatard, both on the road, then FW Concordia then Mish Marian, then make it to 3a State and Beat Heritage Hills?
If you are scoring at home, that would of been 4 straight Private schools on their way to Lucas.
That would of made up the difference between the 2?
All 3 were tremendous QBs and athletes. I know I am bias, however facing Kyle Adams 2 times in person and all the game film that I watched of him, the throws he made, the fact he got a legit big time scholarship to James Madison, a premier program in the FCS division was enough for me to see him on the Mr. Football ballot as QB position winner. If Kyle Adams was 6'1 he is not going James Madison........
Not a knock against Wright, very good HS QB himself.
Coach, you are allowed to have your opinion thats what makes this forum great. You saw Adams twice and his stats (which are crazy). Wright called plays at the line and audible out of stuff as he saw Defenses. He didnt have to throw for for yards... I kept waiting for Defenses to stack just so he could throw it. Eastbrook kind of did that and Spencer did what Spencer does and he made plays. I feel like because Spencer didnt throw for 2500 yards people will say he is underserving. But for those that watched all 30 games he played in the last 2 years know how good he is. I honestly believe Webo doesnt win back to back titles without 7 behind center and I think that in large part is why he is a finalist.

What were his season and career numbers? We they on par with what those other two QB's did?
Ask the IFCA. They are the ones that selected him.

Did either of one of them win back to back State Championships?

not going to lie, a bit surprised that Wright beat out both Kyle Adams and QB at Cathedral
I think a lot of it has to do with him winning State in back to back years and the stats he put up in both State Finals games.
2018
25/35 330 yards 4 Tds and 1 Int & 84 yards Rushing
2019
14/18 254 yards, 2 Tds & 1 INT & 56 yards Rushing

I don't know that I have ever seen 3 kids from the same school win the position awards... Even in the late 80s/early 90s of the Ben Davis hayday...
Congrats to Spencer Wright... The only player not from a 5A/6A school.

Even with this preemptive strike I'll put the over/under at 7 for people bitching about player X not being all state even though he was top 50.
You’re probably not wrong! And I’ll take the over!

Re: Charlie’s age.... If he started school late or was held back what's the deal? I promise we all know people that started school late Or were held back at some point. I would guess if he was held back at some point it was when he was in elementary school and NO ONE knew what kind of football player he would turn in to. I have an October birthday. If I was held back at any point I would have been well over 19 when I graduated high school.

West Lafayette should be on that list before Western Boone.
Create a list... And I put it was a homer pick.

I lost faith in this award when Russ Yeast did not get it. He was the best player on the field that year but he did not win and I ask then is this a 4 year award or a senior award for best player. With that being said I do think Spegal is the lead to get it, but are we doing his value on this year or all four
Either way it's his... IS the record holder of Rushing Yards and TDs, I believe. It should be the most lopsided vote in history and that isn't to take anything away from the other guys as those guys should get some recognition too... But what Charlie has done and the records he broke... Those may stand for a while.

When I started looking at this and putting it together I went and looked at past historical tournament success... Sectionals, Regionals, Semi-States, State Championships and then try to put together what I thought were the best 25 programs. I think most would probably agree with 20/25 and the last 5 would be the debateable teams. It's all opinion based off of what criteria you use.
Looking forward to seeing others....

Mater Dei, Penn, Columbus East too high.
Sheridan, LCC, Tri-West too low
12 hours ago, Temptation said:Hard to be critical here as I don’t know your criteria and I have yet to come my own but I’d think Carmel is a bit low. Nine state championships and 7 runner up teams (all at the highest level of competition if I am not mistaken) is tough to match.
They weren't in 1-25 order... Just as I they came off the top of my head... Hence the NO PARTICULAR ORDER... Just 25 programs...

Here's a list of coaches I think would be great hires for Fishers:
Justin Pelley, WeBo - Two time state championship coach and a proven winner. I think he could repeat his success at a bigger school.
Ryan Knigga, Lawrenceburg - Has had a lot of success at LB. I just like the way his teams play.
Pat Shanley, Laff Jeff - Would like to see his high powered offense at Fishers. Young coach, who could bring a spark to the program.
YOU SHUT YOUR MOUTH!! LOL.

There is lots of wealth in the farm fields and livestock barns of Western Boone county. Plus a good percentage of federal "bailout" money flowing to area farmers, including the 46071 area code: https://farm.ewg.org/addrsearch.php?search_input_text=46071
That's a zip code, genius.

For some reason, in name of sportsmanship and player safety gets thrown out after Sectionals....... makes no sense to me either.
I didn't understand why either... It really doesn't make a lot of sense. Would like them to review and leave it in for all games (tournament or regular season).
10 hours ago, BigTimeDB said:I thought it might be because the IHSAA assumed that large gaps in competitiveness diminish somewhat after sectionals.
But if it doesn't? There is no harm in leaving the rule through the playoffs too.

I have 2 questions from this game.
1. My question is with the game being such a blowout why did both teams play their starters the entire game. A lot of subs work hard all year and deserve to get into the game.
2. When Webo went up 41-0 why didn't the running clock rule come into play? Or does that rule exists for the state finals.
I can't answer #1. I think Webo had some kids play that typically don't see the field a ton. particularly Seniors.
2. There is no running clock after Sectional Final

I believe an additional data point would be Marion county/Indianapolis and the surrounding urban sprawl/doughnut counties. 50% of this year's state finalists came from this demographic.
Lots of rich farmers around there.
Please. Go back to complaining about how Frankfort should be classified

I do not but I did not set up the parameters.
DT being DT. His parameters are skewed... So teams that have had recent success are Affluent or Private... Teams that struggle need contraction... Apparently there is no in between.

One could argue that ISU/NDSU is bigger football than the Chicago Bears.
