  1. Well, I'll disagree for you...Dwenger would NOT be considered a favorite right now. Yes their line play is good but I just don't see them being able to guard the athletes of a New Haven or Leo for 4 quarters, Columbia City has yet to prove themselves against a quality opponent so I would, without hesitation, put them over CC. They could score on the likes of New Haven's defense somewhat consistently but there's no way they win a shoot out. They would, I think, fair better against a Leo and East Noble due to that fact of similar styles but even then I think they are going to be a slight underdog.
  2. I like to refer to them as the "New Harding Bullhawks"

  5. Snider, yes as shown....Carroll, would need to see the matchup as I would have Carroll definately under Snider now. NorthSide, I say no way. North couldnt stop Northridge from running and East Noble would run all over them. Plus East Noble's staff would simply out coach the North staff.....

  7. Sagarin doesnt mean squat and if you are really a coach you know that. Their Sagarin rating is nothing more than a by product of the opponent (Brownsburg) strength they faced.......
  8. Yeah it will def be a dogfight, but I honestly don't see Dwenger being a huge factor if at all. This is a big talent year for NE8 teams, especially the ones in this sectional and I am having a hard time seeing where BD can match up with the likes of East Noble, Leo and New Haven and even Wayne for that matter. Dwenger hasn't been "Dwenger" as of late under Garrett and I'm sure the Saint nation is getting restless and this years out of conference games/beatings aren't going to help morale much.
  9. 4A is where they belong, but I dont see them making any noise in sectionals this year. 19 is packed and to be honest, Dwenger isn't "Dwenger" as of late.....not sure this move is going to strike fear in anyone in that sectional, at least not this year
  10. You probably wont find much love for them in the 260....js
  11. Eastbrook at Concordia....Concordia will take time to get back to where they once were....Panthers by 28 Dwenger at Moeller.....Moeller by as many as they want, any bets on Dwenger starting the season 0-5?? Moeller by 50+ North Side at Lawrence North.....NorthSide is overrated, yeah I said it. They need some semblance of decent QB play to turn this season around and get ANY hope for the playoffs.......Wildcats by 21 Snider at East Noble.....SAC game of the week. East Noble MUCH better than last year, just not good enough to topple the best team in the SAC (yeah I said it)....Panthers by 14 Wayne at Northrop.....Northrop looked bad vs the Dawgs last week while Wayne beat up on a cupcake.....Wayne with more smoke and mirrors will look again again (until they play someone legit)....Generals by 20 Homestead at Noblesville...Sparty looked impressive against Carmel, they rebound this week.....Spartans by 7 New Haven at Luers....Luers was taken behind the woodshed last week by a NE8 contender, they stay behind the woodshed this week.....Dawgs by 21 St. Joseph at South Side....Archers were close last week, pulling for Coach Goodwell and SS this week to get in the win column....Archers by 1 Warren Central at Carroll....Carroll got one put on them a little bit last week and now face a team Snider handled with ease, they need a similar result as the Panthers if they want to be seen as the tops in the SAC......Chargers by 12
  12. Look for East Noble to try to slow this game down with the running game. Yeah they had 63 plays on the ground last week but they have 3 very able bodied kids to run the ball sharing those carries so they should have a fresh body to run every series. The Knights QB has, for the most part, been average the last few years and makes mistakes if you can pressure him. He doesnt really have the ability to extend plays with his legs and has, in the past, ripped off throws to avoid a sack resulting in some bad picks in the past. Play action, I think, is where he can hurt you if they can get a running game going. Their achilles heal last year was pass defense as they gave up BIG yards through the air last year with a young, and honestly, slow secondary. I would defeinately look to take some deep shots if I were Snider to attempt to keep the safeties from creeping up in the box. I'm thinking 31-14 Snider.
  13. I think Wayne is alot of smoke and mirrors.... I'm not taking anything from their game with Attucks, looked like Attucks dressed about 28 kids for a Friday night game.....and they looked BAD. Their O-line is what everything will hinge on as it should. Regular season I see a 4 win season, 5 at BEST. Playoff run will all depend on the draw as I dont see them winning against East Noble, Leo or Col City head to head.

  20. This year is TRULY a toss up in the NE8. You will have the usual suspects in Leo and East noble with the recent success of Norwell. You have a resurgent Columbia City who crashed the party last year and a New Haven team that could/should be the MOST explosive offensive team in the conference trying to fight their way back to the top of the NE8. After them you have Huntington North, Dekalb and Belmont who, lets be honest, will remain in the bottom half. This year's title race, I believe, will come down to one key aspect....Line play. Whoever can put together a strong O-line to block for the numerous playmakers in the conference will have the inside track. With that being said..... 1A. Leo-From an offensive standpoint they are probably the number 2 team in the NE8 talent wise. The Lions return Schott, Zeisloft and Deckar while getting a HUGE add/upgrade in Hurst coming over from NorthSide (and I don't blame him after watching "The New North" documentary). Deckar is servicable at QB but with the weapons at his disposal, his job becomes alot easier this year but he MUST get better with the ball (INT's). The numerous defensive starters returning is why I have them here. Schott, who I believe is a BETTER defender will terrorize opposing QB's this season and Zeisloft return as the conference's top pick artist from a year ago. Only question mark will be ILB. Now lets see if the defensive play calling will help win them games. 1B. New Haven- This may come out of left field but, imho, the Bulldogs look SCARY offensively. All eyes will be on Graham (Ohio State commit and #1 ranked player in the state) but with Ajani Washington coming over from Concordia (1st team SAC WR), James Hardy II at TE and the BEST returning QB in the NE8 back in Williams, yikes. And lets not forget Bates at RB returning as well. The key to a contending season or another .500 year all comes down to O-line play which has been their achilles heal. If they can put a servicable line in front of those playmakers, they may just be able win by simply outscoring everyone..... 3. East Noble-the first losing season at EN in 20+ years isn't going to sit well in Kendalville nor with Caoch Amstutz. I see some form of a "revenge tour" happening this season as the youth movement from last year starts to pay off. The Knights may very well have the BEST running game in the NE8 this year behind Reinbold, Krehl and Mosely at RB's. All 3 are as hardnosed as they come and will grind out alot of yards on the ground. The Knights return Brazel at QB who in 2 years behind center is yet to really shine but he could do some damage this year off play action. I wouldn't be surprised to see some packages put together for incoming frosh QB Phillips as he will be the future (and a VERY dangerous one at that) at some point. The defense will be key in a run at the conference title this year as they will face playmakers week in and week out. They, I believe, cannot afford to be conservative here, especially this year.... 4. Columbia City- a fall from conference champs to the fourth spot, I know, seems harsh but they lose ALOT. The obvious bright spot is Stratton Fuller is back and he is BEAST in all 3 phases of the game. He's one of the top WR's in the conference as well as a top DB and return man....and he blocks kicks when they count (see sectional championship last year). Returning help at RB with Getts will help as well but the big question is who will replace Colton Pieper at QB??? The line should be in decent shape with the defensive being good but Columbia City's success last year was all about the offense and they need to find their leader..... 5. Norwell- the biggest faller from last year also lost a TON from a very talented senior class last year. Gone are the running combo of Graft & Colbert as well as monsters on both lines in Bolyn and Zeddis. Bailey is also gone at QB which never helps a rebuilding team as well as Ringger as a utility player. Defense, which was stellar last year, loses the majority of their player as well. Returning bright spots include Drew Graft and Trey Boddenheimer, both 2-way players. Just don't see them leading this team higher than this considering the talent in the conference this year. 6. Huntington North- new coach in Eschbach is really only bright spot other than year 2 in their new confines and turf. The Vikings generally have alot of size physically so there could be some blockers for Teusch at RB who should take over duties as top ball carrier. 7. Dekalb- another team that will deal with losses at key spots. Gone are Irk at QB and WR's Montoya and Wiley who were big to their offense. Coming back is RB Caiden Hinkle at 6'3 and 225 lbs is a bruiser. The Barons always seems to be the team that's just "a fews years from being good" and that clock needs to hurry up. There is some solid talent coming up in the lower levels, just not this year.... 8. Belmont- get turf and we will talk about you.....
  21. I agree that EN isnt beating Snider, BUT I do not see it being a thrashing by any means. It will be a good "get right" game after inevitably taking one on the chin from Warren Central. Coach Amstutz returns a TON from a young team last year and should have a strong running game which they will surely try to use to slow the game down against the Panthers. The outcome will never be in doubt but the Knights will keep it respectable.
  22. Over Andrean, no, but over Luers I'd say yes. They have questions on their D-line and lost their starting RB to transfer.
  23. I agree....for Norwell to make it they would have to go through Chatard AND West Lafayette in semi-state.....talk about being battle tested before state.....😵
