  1. Lipton? Like the tea guy? Or do you mean Linton? If you mean Linton, trust me that locally it has been discussed THOROUGHLY.
  2. Yep. ND decided to play up. The word is they were trying to avoid Linton.
  3. I have one question I hope someone can answer: 67-40????
  4. Maybe my post was a knee-jerk reaction to coaches polls in general. When I go and review only the 1A line-up, I can't say I'd change it much. Except Springs Valley maybe deserves to be in the 8-10 range. BUT, I stick by my original claim that just because the coaches got it right this time, it doesn't mean it is a great way to rate teams in general. I'm a Sagarin fanboy despite its known flaws with closed schedules.
  5. I understand this is a 1a thread, but to make my point I am going to bring in some 2a examples: early week Coaches Polls mean absolutely zilch. There is no way Ritter or Paoli or North Davies should be receiving votes for their performances this year. That is a hold over from last year. Having seen how the polling system works, I put very little faith in the coaches poll anyway. As an example, a coach from southern Indiana has no hope of ever seeing a team from "the region" play unless they meet up in Lucas Oil. How can they possibly vote on such a team's ability? These votes rely highly on tradition and reputation and have very little validity.
  6. I'm a PLAC guy, so I don't have any dog in the fight. But I've seen both Tell City and Forest Park play, so I'll say I'm going with TC over FP. TC is a very physical team. I was very impressed with their D-Line. They're not as talented as they have been in the past few years, but they are still a respectable team. Forest Park is a well-coached team, but I just don't think they have the physicality to hang with TC over 4 quarters. To me their QB was their top athlete, but he went down with an injury last week. If he is back for this one, it may be an interesting match up as he has an ability to extend plays that may give TC trouble.
