  1. I had this thought the other day.  Could a 1 or 2A school that does not a game for what ever reason schedule a game against say a 5 or 6A team JV team that also does not have a game that week?  I know it would not count as far as an official game,  but would it not be better then no game.

One I do not even no if this is allowed by the ihsaa.  And two I do know there is pro and cons to this. What do you all think on this.

I was also a bit surprised to see Whiteland’s number down quite a bit from their recent trend.  It was nice to see some “new blood” in the 5A and 6A finals this year with Whiteland and Carroll.  Harrison has grown just like those two schools but needs a breakthrough in the tournament to really take the next step with their program.

I agree wilh you on Whiteland was surprised to see that as well.

I know my opinion does not mean much but, i have always believed that the count for class should be done for males and females sports separate not just one number for both

  3. Here is my four cents on a few changes I would like to see

    1. On field goals attempts if the kicking team misses the ball is spotted at the line of scrimmage not the 20.

2 on kickoffs the receiving team can call a fair change if they are inside the 20 and ball will be spotted at the 20.

3 on a first down a more consistent job between crews on how fast they start the game clock.  I have seen some where it is almost the like they say first down then start the clock and others that what till the down markers are set.

I am curious if there is a playoff game if a visiting team can challenge a site being used based on this.

Also, confoirmed from someone at the IHSAA that they indeed widen the posts at LOS for high school games.

I stand corrected thank for that information.  I think the reason I was thinking that they did not move them out was they still used such tall pipes and in my eyes they did not move them.

Fully understood - New Pal will play anybody anywhere, too (as evidenced by scheduling Center Grove & Westfield) and expect to win every Friday night. But as someone who is interested in class alignments and who gets the Success Factor bump, that was just something I found intriguing. Cathedral has proven it can compete and win at a 6A level (just as New Pal proved pretty well it can compete at the 5A level, especially as evidenced by 3 State Finals appearances in the eight years it was in the class).

This will be a dynamite game this week.

The problem with UIndy is needing to put high school hashmarks and goalposts on the field. I know other tourney games have been held there (especially Scecina hosting a few games there), but it's not a great spot. The visiting side is also *very* small (and much smaller than Tech's).

Cathedral has hosted games at North Central, too, which also has plenty of accommodations for a large crowd (and a better press box). But Tech is a good stadium and much more centrally-located.

Just curious why would they need to move the goal post I know they don’t change in them in LOS

  6. The play i

Here is the go ahead score by Cathedral. Please tell me where the obvious tackle by the Cathedral RT is. The RT is #76 (Note I saw no CG player tackled to the ground by an Offensive Lineman.

That is not the play that is in question about a no call on the right tackle vs the LB.  It was on the 4 and 10 that cathedral converted right before this play.

The 2023 class and the 2025 classes both went undefeated and should be state contenders right now. What is happening between their Freshmen year and now?

And what was the Freshman team's record?

I have seen the 2023 class play CG since 7th grade, in my opinion the WC team was good, but was not special outside of 2 kids.  One of them does play anymore and just playes  basketball and the other one is New Pal. Stating Quarterback now

  8. During the CG Vs LC football game at around 1100 min mark of the 2nd quarter.  CG was kick off the ball it was heading out of bounds but did a crazy turn and never went out.  The official on the side had start to pull his flag to to throw before it went out.  When it did not go he stoped a few bounce latter he still throws his flag and stops play.  Should have the flag just been picked up and replay the kickoff

One's thing for sure...Trinity is being forced to spend time on the Wing T this week in practice.  Guessing they don't see it a ton.

Here is a question to go along with that statement is CG offensive one of the hardest to prep for?
