Ok this is something I use hear when I played and everything was grass. If you have have fast team you keep the grass short if you team is more power then speed you let it grow long. Not sure if really does any thing but I know it was something I heard a lot and know teams would do.

Ok I want to start out by saying this is not a knock on any school or team but a question about should ihsaa looking to move some of the games played in later rounds do to pour field conditions. Let take Indian creek they play on a grass fields and have had 14 games played on between varsity jv and freshman, not counting on what else it has been used for. We have a lot rain the last few weeks and more coming this weekend. You have several schools close by with field turf, why not move the game.

I find it kind of funny that three people that committed on this as who cares let them play and such are coach’s or supports of schools that have had a lot of success at playing at class or two above there enrollment level.
do I like the rule no I think it should be based on that you have to play a min about of played for it to be considered a quarter played, but it is not. it is like the dress number rule for the tournament do I like it no but you have to follow it.

Why would you get in trouble? Talking about a team is one thing. Talking about the field conditions is a completely different thing, and even appears it would not even factor into your post
I really did not want to name the school because it does not matter what school because it was not the kids fault more that how a coaching staff let it happen.
also I was in the mood to be a little bit of a smart butt
also if this does happen would both games be a forfeit

What game and what school is this?
It was a Cg jv game and the team they where playing I will not name because it seems you can not say anything bad about them and I do not want to get into trouble.

I was told that a jv game was won by forfeit do to a player play in 8 quarters for the weekend. But how does this happen that a coaching staff does not know many a quarters a player plays in.
the bigger question if a teams does this do they have to forfeit both games i they play in or just one. -
Should the ihsaa find a way for everyone to have a bye week

Must be the potential rain keeping people away....
Would have thought Center Grove was brining an entire battalion
This games also falls during fall break

By seeding you would still have the same 4 teams just seeded unless you are talking 1 threw 16 and do that way

I like it, but let's keep them as Sectionals so the current trophy system stays the same across classes. Instead, have 6A abolish Regionals.
I would be ok with that too

It would eliminate a success factor point for winning a sectional. Doesn’t matter for 6A, but it could for a 5A team playing up in 6A. With the current format, a team like Snider (just for example, when they were playing up in 6A) could win 2 sectionals and no regionals, and stay in 6A. Without sectionals, they could win 0 regionals and go back to 5A.
Easy fix if you make it to the regional game you earn the same points as winning the sectionals.

Combine sectionals to make one regional? Still to include all teams?
Sec 1 and 2 for Reg. 1
Sec 3 and 4 for Reg 2
Sec 5 and 6 for. Reg 3
Sec 7 and 8. For. Reg 4

I have though about this for a while now and feel that in 6 and 5a do a way with sectionals and just have regionals. It would open it more up to playing different teams, and at a little more spice on who you good be playing.

I heard on the Irish post game show that the last time Center Grove played on grass was 2017.
Not sure of the year but it was at FC the last year they had grass

In truth i do not think it lack of effort or intelligence. I just think most people like it the way it is. I have read on here over the years that you need to seed it so 1 and 2 are on the opposite side. And I can understand why that is, but you also have a lot people that like the fact the there 3 and 6 team has a chance against the 1and 8 team and can get one or two more weeks of playing and practice.

There’s no accurate way to seed 64 teams. I swear to God there isn’t
I can agree with that but you could Get close with doing 32 for the north and 32 in the south
-
My thought on this is not when who plays who but where. I have said a few times on here over the years with talking to people. It does matter when you have to play a team but more where. Each class should be seeded 1 threw 64 or 32. And the higher seed should be the home team no matter what unless for some reason their field is not playable

Update for you @StatQueen
The overflow lot at the retail center on 46th and Arlington has a new 100 yard pond in it currently equipped with 30-50 Canadian geese. I put some orange pylons at the 3 spots next to it for your reserved parking in case you're late.
You better not drive your Range Rover either. Also, bring your Tide sticks because your Trojans might get a grass stain or two on our "crappy grass surface".
I guess they have to wear there Red pants

No comment on the field but someone needs to get a hold of espn in they can put a fake high school on tv why not 2 top 25 schools that are in the same state

A bigger question I would should say should why the coach or coachs get no punishment. I know a baseball coach that messed up the pitch count, he made a honest mistake. They made him sit out the next game the team played. Should the rules not be applied the same.
if the rule is for players safety should it not have more teeth
