  1. You're right, I worded it wrong. I never heard whether they were invited, and if they were invited, did they notify the schools that invited them of their intention.
  2. True. Divisions would only be for football for scheduling purposes. Kind of how the NIC is split with thier divisions. Doesn't follow enrollment entirely.
  3. No official announcement. 6 schools are locked in according to school officials. Waiting to hear word from two other schools who were invited.
  4. I don’t see Mishawaka leaving the NLC, they seem to be happy there. Would NLC be open to Penn, Elkhart, St. Joe, Marian joining the NLC and splitting into the Big and Small Divisions. Big- Penn Warsaw Elkhart Mishawaka Concord Northridge Small- Northwood Marian St. Joe Wawasee Goshen Plymouth
  5. My guess is 2 or 3 years. South Bend is eating options. Plan looking at closing 1 not 2. Specifically said they won’t close 2.
  6. If Rochester were to jump, Pioneer and Cass would be a good pair for the TRC.
  7. 1 hour 15 minutes from Fairfield to Knox.
  8. A local media member stated that Fairfield has been approached and are on the fence. Wawasee would be a shocker to join.
  9. I think the NIC offered the 4 schools a lifeline. I don't think the decision was made for or against Penn, and probably waas more of a move for the South Bend Schools to have more winnable games in football and other sports. In some cases it worked, and other cases it didn't. From what I have heard from Bremen people that this change is not coming as a result of competition but more of a financial decision. The gate Bremen was recieving from playing certain schools was down dramatically compared to when they played in the NSC. This is about getting similiar schools with similiar fan bases that will lead to larger gate reciepts. Bremen hasn't been over its head competion wise in most sports other than basketball, and the basketball issue isn't a conference issue its a commitment to the program problem that started back 20 years ago at the end of the Gary Hudson era. Failure on the part of the adminastration to hire quick fixes instead of having a winning vision. Thats a Bremen problem. I am sure that they have feelers out to several schools, as an idiot fan who has no real insight, my targets would be Fairfield and Rochester. After that Judson and possibly Wawasee. Then you could look at St. Joe and Marian. CMA brings strong competion but doesn't bring in gate. They would not be considered in my opinion.
  10. Glenn Bremen Jimtown LaVille Knox Tippy Valley They want 2 more teams, if not they will run with 6. From my sources it is done, just not announced. If this is false, I will fall on the sword and take the tar and feathering.
  11. Rockville and Turkey Run didn’t want to merge. Union Dugger and North Central Farmersburg didn’t want to merge. Demographic changes sometimes force tough choices.
  12. I am intrigued either way. I don't know if I have a strong opinion either way. Bremen and Glenn have every right to pursue every option they feel right for them, and the individual schools have every right to vote in their best interest. If they are accepted so be it, hope they make the best of it. If the the HNAC schools vote it down, that is their right and I respect it. Its not that I don't care either way, its just the way it is. Find what works for you and go do it. I can see both sides of the argument. If I'm a Culver or Caston, I see their perspective. If I'm Knox or LaVille, I can see them wanting to pursue a possible different direction if they have post season success as the end goal.
  13. It’s hush hush, but things are happening. Cards were all laid out on the table. Friday appears to be D-Day.
  14. Buddy of mine that is a former school board member said big news coming Friday for Bremen.
  15. NIC/NLC is more logical than NIC/DAC. But in reality none of it’s logical.
  16. Unfortunately some programs aren't thriving to succeed. Attitude reflects leadership, and I question the leadership of my alma mater.
  17. So does LaVille and Knox jump ship and join Bremen and Glenn? Does Jimtown come with? Valley? Rochester? Wawasee? Fairfield? CMA?
  18. Did they have the vote? I had heard it was going to be March 8th.
  19. Bremen appearently is losing tons of gate money in most sports playing the South Bend schools. The leadership at that school has been suspect for almost 20 years now. They don't tend to have much foresight when it comes to the big picture. They are tend to be like the little dutch boy and his finger in the dike. They keep trying to plug holes with the easy solution and have really layed a ground work for success. They have a few good coaches in some programs, but other programs they just keep rinsing and repeating. There hasn't been any financially investement of note in athletic facilities in almost 30 years. They have lost some good coaches to other places because the coaches are more invested in success then the actual school. The like to brag about giving kids oppurtunities, but the oppurtunities don't have much cooridination in a school wide plan. I know there is some new energy in the elemetary school for some sports, but I'm afraid once those kids and parents move up no one will continue the effort.
