We have a new AD, hopefully he has more drive and ambition. The old AD was a great secretary but not a good leader. In the old days, love him or hate him Frank DeSantis was driven to have the best for the athletes and his entusiasm was infectious on the whole school. The superintendent is a paper tiger, says the right things but has no real action. One school board member is very active in improving things for all students and athletes, donates gear and equipment all the time and very active in youth sports. One school board is openly hostile to any idea of improvement and has mentioned to others that athletics isn't his priority. It shouldn't be the main priority, but don't say it isn't a priority. They seem to have a blase apathetic attitude anymore, and it is a real disappointment. As far as Coach Leeper goes, I won't question his effort or level of commitment, I question his game plans, strategy, and effectiveness. It is obvious to me that if you rank the 6 coaching staffs right now in the new conference, they are the weakest. That's not good enough. I don't know if they will fire him, Bremen doesn't like to rock the boat, but I hope he has enough personal accountability to step aside and let someone else improve things.
-
Hopefully the Leeper era is over soon. The Bremen program is a shell of its self. Six teams in the conference, and I don't think there is an argument that the Lions have the worst coaching staff and program at the moment.
-
Bremen is dead with Graverson being out and coaching staff not putting other kids in position to succeed. Leeper is so tied to his system and his damn the torpedo attitude sets his team up for failure. He is a good guy, but definitely the weakest head coach in the conference.
-
Bremen's defense has be good against inferior offenses, but the same can not be said for the offense. The passing attack with Laidig and Graverson has not be as good as one would think. I have agut feeling LaVille wins this one. Season has been down for the Lancers but that coaching staff with have them prepared. LaVille 25-21.

Game Cancelled
MarshallCounty replied to Football Guru 25's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Apparently illness at Blackhawk, not enough healthy players. -
Ok, my bad. I knew that game was going to be a dog fight. That game was closer than the score. Bremen couldn't do anything offensively, and Triton hand Bremen the game with 6 turnovers (5 picks and 1 onside kick). You mentioned that Bunge was a house of horrors for Triton in the past and that seemed to be the case.
-
What happened to the Triton starting QB, when he left the offense died. The back up was completely lost back there. Triton's defense was stout and kept them in the game.

I didn't attend and this is second hand information, but was told Goshen did not fair well against Bremen. If this is inaccurate, I apologize. -

What I was told, the conference members don't want the private schools. Fairfield and Rochester were asked to join and passed. I think Wawasee would be a good addition. North Judson would be another good school to look at. Bit of a travel for Jimtown but would be close for Knox.
-
What is everyones take on the restart of the conference. 1. Knox-Tons of talent with this special group of players mixed with a legendary coach, this is the kind of team they tell stories about down the road. 2. Tippy Valley- Great year last year, was a top 5 3A team last year that had a horrible draw for sectional. The lose a lot of talent, but supspect they will be pretty tough again. 3/4/5/6- Flip a coin with this bunch. I think they are all capable of beating each other. Jimtown has a new coach and see if that can reignite the Jimtown Franchise. LaVille loses tons of talent and expereince but has some ballers coming back. Glenn is the wild card, new coach. Bremen will try and throw it all around with Laidig and Graverson, but do they have the talent and depth to win week to week. I have my doubts, they are treading water as a program, not bad but not anywhere near where they once were.
-
From a Jimtown Insider, Coach Stoner had family ties to Fairfield, his father in law coached there. Knox has talent back for this year, they truth will come out the folllowing years when this group graduates. LaVille graduates leaders, but has a few pieces in the lower grades. Bremen has some good seniors in Laidig and Graverson. They may be mid pack. I have no faith in Coach Leeper to increase the numbers, has been an issue for years. I don't know what to say about Glenn. Tippy will challenge Knox for the title. (my views have no value, and are likely to change based on how hungry I am) I

For the most part, I think this topic has been fairly tame given the nature of the situation. -

That last meeting was to be December 13 this past Wednesday. I haven't seen the meeting notes. -
How will this impact basketbll and the payments they recieve? WIll all 400 D1 basketball programs be paying athletes?

I currently live in SE Indiana. Talked to 2 AD's that I am close to and neither one of them have any interest in starting it. Cost and finding coaches are the biggest hindrance.
