Whiteland defeated us this evening. CE was very sloppy tonight... roughing the kicker on a FG attempt inside the 10 gave Whiteland a TD, and a shanked punt to start the game off gave Whiteland a TD that they had to move the ball about 30 yards total.. Not going to beat many good teams when you gift 14 points to a quality team as them. Good Luck and it’s awesome to see GS playing up.

Whiteland scores with 15.6 seconds remaining and wins the game. Whiteland - 28 Columbus East - 21 Clean up the penalties and CE would have walked out with a victory. Not a bad team effort at all, the defense is really good, and the Whiteland offense is always the most difficult to defend with all the motion. CN is absolutely blowing the doors off Gibson Southern, so it will be another test for CE. CE opens up with 3 very tough games to start the season.

Penalties have been an absolute killer for CE.. A roughing the kicker on a FG attempt after holding them for 6 yards on 3 plays inside the 10, then it takes Whiteland 4 carries to get 6 yards for a TD instead of a FG... 7 plays, 9 yards all because of a roughing the kicker.. Ensuing kick off, East returns it’s 70 yards, only for it to be called back because of a block in the back. If East were to win this game it would be a miracle with how the offense has played. The last TD and the first TD was basically super short yardage situations for Whiteland. Not going to beat many quality teams only making teams going 10 yards and 45 yards for a score. Columbus East - 7 Whiteland - 6 End of 1 Parks is going to be a handful this year for defenses.. it’s basically a WR playing QB. Whiteland is a very good team, that motion offense always gives East problems.

Picking against East will get you kicked out of your new house even before you get moved into Columbus 🙂 haha JK East will be a work in progress (especially on the offensive side of the ball). It’s a total toss up tonight. They could win, they could get beat by 20 lol

I expect FC to boat race Jeff.. Jeff is just a school that has not put it together when they play a good/very good team or a team that is disciplined at all. Madison had some decent kids last year against East. One of the kids had an absolute ton of speed, was def their best player. Yeah I’m not sure why I said Elkhart Central, I meant Elkhart High. I believe they will be a very good team.

The D looks to be good this year, especially the front and the speed. Offense def needs to have a few weeks to gel. I do like Parks at QB (I saw he was impressing at some of the 7 v 7 tournaments, kid can def run.. Going to be a fun season. First 3 weeks are brutal, Whiteland, CN, Elkhart Central

That is not a shot at Floyd.. I do think it will be Floyd, BNL or Seymour that eventually ends the streak..

We will see. I’ve heard it a million times that it’s Floyd’s year. East is proven and until they are beaten I’m taking East by 14+. Wright might have had 9 carries for 14 yards against East last year. He caught a swing pass against the subs last year and did take it to the house (he has obvious speed). East is eventually going to lose, nothing last for ever. I’m surprised it’s almost been 15 years since they last lost a conference game with 99% of them being over midway thru the 2nd quarter.

Projected conference standings Top 3. 1. East (no surprise, the boys have been living in the gym and Parks/McDonald are going to be a handful) 2. Floyd ( they will be a good team, the issue that they have always had is line play. I expect them to handle everyone except East this year). They always have great athletes but Wright and Co never can get going when the lines are getting blown up. 3. Seymour (They gave East a scare last year in that miserable cold and rainy game)

Along with Parks being at QB this year they will be back to running the offense like they had when it was Cowan/Jones and Major/Hogan in the backfield.. Line play should be extremely good this year..

Markell Jones again Evansville Reitz or Central ran for 260 and 6 TD’s in the 1st half of a regional game a few years back.

Kyle Ralph is going nowhere. He would take a big dump on Florida before he ever moved down there.

Thanks for your opinion, but Warren and Carmel should be good every year. You had double and triple the amount of kids as most schools. Def not the pound for pound best.
