  4. Wild finish in the Lapel/Eastern Hancock game last night. The last minute of the game is well worth the watch. E Hancock with the ball down 21-20, the final drive features one of the best catches of the year. E Hancock nearly pulled off the victory twice. The rematch would be in the sectional 38 semifinal. The EHSN team does a VERY good job with these games. Not sure if there are any students involved in this crew, but they do a great job every week!

  7. My picks from an "unofficial" thread: Sect 33: Andrean Sect 34: Southmont over WeBo (3 pt game in wk 7) Sect 35: AC over Bluffton (AC by 30 in wk 8 ) Sect 36: Eastbrook over Alexandria (EB won by 10 in wk 4) Sect 37: Monrovia Sect 38: Lapel over Triton Central (this could be an instant classic, hopefully in the title game) Sect 39: Linton Sect 40: Brownstown Central Regional: Andrean over Southmont AC over Eastbrook Lapel over Monrovia Brownstown Central over Linton Semi-State: Andrean over AC Brownstown Central over Lapel State: Andrean over Brownstown Central
  8. A couple significant rematches from last year that could go the other way this year: Andrean/Adams Central (potential north semi-state) - can ACs team speed overcome the size advantage Andrean has in the trenches? Brownstown Central/Linton (potential south regional) - BC has been steamrolling teams all year. Can Linton get Paul Oliver the ball enough to keep pace (whether through the air, or in pistol)? I just hope we don't see any clips from this game posted as often as the "pass from the knees" last year. There's a lot of potential SF movement riding on this bracket, including a scenario in which three teams could earn their way into 3A (Andrean beats AC in SS, then beats Linton at LOS). Could also see some familiar names drop down. Should be a fun tournament!

  10. With the tourney draw Sunday at 6pm, and conference titles on the line in the next two weeks, here's just one prediction for the 2A tournament (assuming the ping-pong balls fall "correctly") : Sect 33: Andrean Sect 34: Southmont over WeBo (3 pt game in wk 7) Sect 35: AC over Bluffton (big preview this Friday) Sect 36: Eastbrook over Alexandria (EB won by 10 in wk 4) Sect 37: Monrovia Sect 38: Lapel over Triton Central (this could be an instant classic, hopefully in the title game) Sect 39: Linton Sect 40: Brownstown Central Regional: Andrean over Southmont AC over Eastbrook Lapel over Monrovia Brownstown Central over Linton Semi-State: Andrean over AC Brownstown Central over Lapel State: Andrean over Brownstown Central

  17. With the changes to the ICC, Indy Lutheran had two additional non-conference weeks to fill. Significant adds for 2025 are games at 5A New Albany and hosting 5A McCutcheon. A week 3 game with Linton would be a good fit, but could also be week 14 matchup. Personally, while The Roy provides a great game environment, I absolutely HATE filming there!
  18. Would love to have Jackson Willis available to finish a stellar career as a 3-year starter. However, Mason Shrum (6-1" Jr) has been patiently been waiting for his chance, and took full advantage Friday (14-18, 190 yds, 3 TDs). It's certainly a challenge to take your first meaningful snaps in the sectional final, but he's played well. Lutheran QBs have historically not played defense. Even in the single years when other skill guys have had to step in (Andre Jones 2017, Tez Clay 2021), their defensive snaps dropped. That certainly helps.

  21. Thank you for running the Pick-em again this year! Friday was an exciting game, regardless of score. Best of luck to the Bulldogs, and the new conference next season.
  22. Sect 37 Monrovia 6 Lutheran 21
  23. Lutheran Triton Central - This should be one of the better games of the week. Harrell has Lapel favored by 4, but I just don't think Lapel is tough enough to keep up with the Tigers. Plus, I'm hoping for a potential Lutheran/TC rematch on home turf.
  24. I think Lapel/Triton Central is too low. This should be an exciting/close game!
  25. LCC takes care of business this week, then will face a tougher test against Andrean. Been looking forward to that game!
