  1. Covenant Christian 17 Cardinal Ritter 0 4:00 in 2nd
  2. Cascade 10 South Putnam 0 3:00 left in 2nd
  3. I recall many people feeling this way about Bishop Luers in 2A a couple years ago. I think their name was being etched onto the trophy as Eastside shocked them in the sectional final. You never know. Otherwise, I don't disagree with your assessment of 5A parity.
  4. I'd like to see AC challenged before LOS, but I just don't think there's anyone among the likely north sectional winners to do it. It's hard to tell whether Carroll can be that team from their atrocious regular season schedule. The most competitive game they'll play before the tourney is tomorrow against Sheridan, and the Blackhawks are in no way comparable to the Jets.
  5. Hope #78 isn't one of the injuries. If he is, I hope he can make it back soon!
  6. You might be on the lookout for some guys in maroon at the Landing Strip next week.
  7. Greenwood Christian also has a week 9 opening. Linton/Lutheran and GCA/Phalen would be a better fit for all four teams. Linton will beat Phalen 63-0.
  8. Wrong Lutherans. Those are the Wisconsin folks. We'd serve you sauerbraten.
  9. Began there in 1976. Have been in a new facility on S. Arlington since the early 90s.
  10. LCC had the 47-game streak, and Sheridan had a 44-game streak from 2005-2008. Assuming LuHi doesn't fill it's week 9 opening and doesn't draw the sectional 47 bye, it would take a third state title win to equal the Sheridan streak. Tying the LCC streak would require 2024 wins over a steadily improving Beech Grove team, Cardinal Ritter, and a Triton Central team that may be the defending 2A champions at the time. Can anyone confirm the longest streak in state history? Bloomington had a 59-game streak from 1968-1973. Not sure if that's the longest, but it sounds like an untouchable record.
  11. I'd agree, but for Triton Central. AC's base offense makes it tough to keep up the pace with the Tigers.
  12. Lutheran Scecina Ritter (by a lot) Beech Grove Monrovia (by a lot) Triton Central
  13. Scecina Cascade (by a lot) Lutheran Triton Central (Monrovia wins on the ground, Triton wins bigger through the air) Speedway
  14. 2A #1 Triton Central 6 1A #1 Lutheran 28 Halftime
  15. Cascade (by a lot) Lutheran (by a lot) Scecina Triton Central Monrovia (by a lot)
  16. Lutheran Speedway Monrovia Triton Central C-O, C-O, C-O-N-C. C-O, C-O, C-O-R-D. R-D, R-D, R-D-I-A. (Scecina wins this easily, but I can't pick against the Cadets)
  17. My way too early picks: 1) Adams Central - 3rd time is a charm for the Jets. They head into 2A with a blue ring. 2) Providence - South sleeper. Young team in '22 bounced by Lutheran in the regional. They avenge that loss in '23 in what will be considered an upset, but really isn't. 3) Lutheran - Name a single 1A/2A team in the last 20 years that graduated 15 seniors and were as good the following year. I can't either. 4) South Putnam - Strong program, but won't make it through a tough sectional. 5) North Judson San Pierre - Advance based on returning experience, despite losing a lot to graduation. 6) North Decatur - See above. I think they would have won it all had they made it past Lutheran in semi-state. 7) Carroll (Flora) - Someone has to win sectional 43. 8 ) Sheridan - Someone has to win sectional 45. 9) South Adams - Gets beat twice by big brother. Again. 10) Milan - Not much size, but scrappy. North: AC over NJSP South: Providence over North Decatur State: AC over Providence
