Don't even want to think about it. Valparaiso return 19 starters from last season. And apparently Mishawaka can throw the ball this season.

Last year people were practically giving Snider the title while Valpo was quietly coming along. We seem to be on the same path again this year with no one saying much about the Vikings.

    Yep, Hello LaPorte !!

He had an offer from Iowa before last night. Rumor was that there were some colleges at the game scouting. So who knows after last nights performance. It was impressive to say the least.

It's hard to replace a kid like Veezy, but I'm not sure the impact of him leaving was as big as some thought it might.

I heard on X that he has peaked interest from ND. I'm sure there were numerous college scouts there for Sullivan. Sure, it would be nice to have Veazy and Buchanan both, but Buchanan has played well and is the top back in SAC, NE Indiana and maybe state.

Let's see what happens to the land that sits next to Lane Middle School (and the soon to be empty Fire Station) across the street.

**Just a thought as it relates to R. Nelson Snider HS and having a unique FB Stadium.

Call Woodson and Bates to get the $$ to get this done.

Who is going to beat them the rest of this year in the SAC? Nobody, which would put the streak at 24 heading into next year. Most likely, they will be favored in every game in the SAC next year as well and to be sure they will be even better next year than they are this year as they will have a senior QB who is a 3 year starter who is also being recruited at a D1 level, hence my statement

OK, just found it odd that you are giving them a W against Snider next year, which I'm assuming you are???

I sometimes think (and I am guilty of this in my rankings too) many coaches fall into the "name recognition" trap.  Teams get the benefit of the doubt often times based on history which is sort of unfair.  I also think that can occur in the other direction in terms of biases.

After all though, it is just fun discussion.  Not life or death.

Yep, the only poll that matters is at the end of the last game of the year 😀

Luers 48 - Concordia 21 - Luers showed a little life last week, it will continue against a Cadet team that gave up 70 points last week to North Side

North Side 63 - Northrop 28 - North Side has another big week against a lower tier team, not impressed in the least

Wayne 49 - South Side 7 - General bounce back this week with an easy win over the hapless Archers

Homestead 35 - Dwenger 21 - Sparty trying to get on a roll before they play Snider next week

Snider 42 - Carroll 14 - Yep, I am calling for a big Panther win this week. Don’t care what Sagarin predicts, which is Carroll by 9 points, the eye test tells me the Panthers roll the Chargers. Carroll has won 19 straight SAC games and if Snider doesn’t beat them, that streak could reach 30 next year. All phases of the game, offense, defense, and special teams favor Snider in this one

    Why is that??

Leo doesn't even garner one vote in 4A? Columbia City over New Haven and East Noble?

Should we even trust a coaches poll? How is a coach even qualified to come up with a Top 10? Aren't they too ultra focused on their own teams to worry about who's Top 10 and who isn't?

But, you would think they should know some things??????

Is the gap between the haves and the have nots as big as its ever been in this conference?

    @BTF?

Seems like a bunch of yawners and just waiting for the Carroll/Snider showdown…

I would say so, but there is always the chance that Snider and/or Carroll have an off night against a middle tier team.

I call hogwash on this. There isn’t a coach alive that can get South Side to even a respectable level. Pretty much, same from Northrop.

I think a head coach would have some affect on that situation. But would think his success would be also developing the middle schools that feed into respected high school and the youth programs that feed on to those middle schools. The open enrollment situation now plays a bigger role into this, takes away from trying to develop from the ground up though. I would think Snider has a good ground level base, whereas someothers don't??

    Cathedral: 35

    Penn: 0

    Halftime.

Absolutely no intensity/emotion from Penn. Almost as if they were defeated by walking on to the field. Odd to see compared to the Penn teams of the past.

I give them thumbs up on scheduling game. IMO it would be interesting to see Snider schedule Cathedral, CG, Carmel to test themselves??

Concordia was a formidable opponent a few years ago and they will be again. Not sure what the solution is to your question short of just dropping out of the SAC. Snider would do the same thing to Northrop, Luers, and South Side.

Maybe Snider and Carroll could play 2-3 games per season ?? 😊
