Not everything is fair in this world DT. It is what it is. I have always said that I do not like the success factor. I think that's punishing teams who have a great program or punishing kids who have to play up  a class just because teams that came before them won many games. I have always stated that the private schools should be the schools that should have to move up a class. People argue against that, but they get a lot more benefits with having to play in smaller classes with lots more football players to choose from. Not to mention kids who are paying to go to the school for football or basketball or etc. And then also, private schools help players out that they want to go to their school to play (recruiting). I am not against private schools I just am saying that they will always have an advantage when it comes to athletics because of the smaller schools that they play.

Again, things are not always fair and that is just the way it is. You cannot have a nonsuccess factor points system in place. That becomes a slippery slope of having specifics in place and how the IHSAA and schools approach seasons. Play in the class you are supposed to play in based off of enrollment and do the best you can.

Some good comments, some retread.  If you have evidence of any school and undue influence, please report it to the IHSAA.  The IHSAA is a group of member schools, not a group of public schools.

I'm not saying the old numbers would benefit anyone. I'm saying the new ones would. And it sounds like your school would be one of those.

I don't think they'd be of any benefit.  Isn't the idea of being placed by enrollment based on enrollment for a reason?  I'm not following the logic.  A poor to mediocre 2A team falling to lower in the 2A pool with fewer players?   I'm talking about where I teach, not the where I graduated from.

Previous enrollment classifications as stated above?

This pandemic has the enrollment numbers all out of whack. Without trying to create too much controversy here, I believe that are a good number of schools that would "benefit" from using the current figures. It just doesn't seem right to me...

I believe my school is way down, how would using an outdated number benefit?

It’s great we have someone on here with a direct pipeline to the divine mindset. That’s not conviction. That’s arrogance.

I was trying to count the number of world religion followers I've had sitting in my classes.  I can think of at least 6, possibly 8.  I wonder which of them is wrong.   It has only been recently when any of them (their parents) have given me a paper on what I have to be careful on what to say in class.

Thanks for the info. I always have reservations when an Indiana school takes on Ohio. By and large, I think it's a different level of play. Dwenger took out Cincinnati LaSalle a few year back, but the Jaylon Smith Luers teams got it handed to them three years in a row by Columbus Harley and manhandled by Toledo Whitmer in that same time period. That being said, Kudos to Warsaw for scheduling that game. The Tigers seem committed to building their program.

Hartley, yes, but you should watch the Whitmer game.  It wasn't a manhandling at all.

  7. Legal action on a rumor?  Are you kidding me?  Will they want the instant messages and emails?  There are bigger fish to fry.  Maybe a better coach didn't get the job.  Maybe a better coach got the job.  We'll never know.   New Haven is sometimes fun to watch.

With 100% certainty, it was NOT age discrimination. It is sad to see that it was implied.

You would certainly know best.   Only the people on the committee would know for sure and that would include you.   I reread our conversation from years ago.  I also reread some emails that my friend and I have had regarding things.  There certainly are two different perspectives.  Both of you have a lot of success.  Continued success to you both.

With the Rona pandemic for the past year and half, I just don't see how one can accurately report enrollments. Is the number how many butts are actually in seats? That obviously changes from one day to the next...

What about those students who have been a part of your school, but choose virtual for the year because of concerns?

What about those who were in-person, but at semester decided to go the virtual route because of rising case numbers?? Or vice-versa??

Seems like a jumbled mess to me....

My school is down, not sure how many, but down.  We let kids who are virtual or a mixture participate in extracurricular.

Seems like the smaller schools are the ones who are getting the most out of the current SAC format. It's kind of crazy how nobody has pointed this out at all...

Thanks for the share.  It's been pointed out since all in playoffs started.

I agree. Football in the state of Indiana has evolved over the last five decades. The SAC should evolve as well. Sure, the Knights have had success against both Carroll and Homestead since they joined they conference, but they struggle mightily against Snider and Dwenger. The chances of them winning an SAC title is about 5%. NE8 is definitely a better fit. I'd be curious to see what guys like Lurker and Panama think about it. The other option would be to divide the SAC into two divisions.

Can anyone list out the SAC winners of the last 10 years?  I think the same names will pop up.

Ya know. I can say with utmost certainly that I am more well versed on this discussion and the inner workings of the conference than anyone who has submitted a response.  So to quote me as an "outsider" is beyond ridiculous!

As for the conference in 2021.  As I said before...

    Wash, rinse, repeat!

I certainly don't think you're an outsider, but just being honest that you're a referee and may have a little bit of inside information is good.  I heard some of the coaches implying that things were in the works and this was public implying.  You don't have to believe it, but you can certainly text them or shoot them a message on facebook, and then comment here.  Oh, and take three knees and kick the ball out of bounds.  🙂 🙂 🙂 Clock management counts.  🙂

I haven't had ONE Athletic Director/Insitution contact anyone who would be directly impacted by your "proclamation" ... Make any mention of them doing any sort of thing.

They have contracted officials via a master schedule for the next 3 years at minimum.  I would love to know your source(s).

The last I heard about it was an interview with the Luers head coach, Leisure Suit!, and he was talking about something in the works for the near future.  I can't remember it word for word, but something about the upper teams looking for some outside competition.  I'm sure it's on the web somewhere.  I've heard it mentioned on 1380 a few times, too.

Your ENTIRE argument is moot!  Its a closed conference schedule, so none of that is even possible due to the current structure.  Hence, my earlier comment.

And to suggest that teams wouldn't travel to play FW area teams, is ridiculous.  I am certain that teams would welcome the competition from all corners of the state, so long as the logistics were amiable to both schools.

But aren't the AD's working on this?
