  1. Another interview this one is Murray Becher https://m.soundcloud.com/kurtgook/murray-becher
  2. The great Kurt Gutgsell of WBDC interviews Heritage Hills head coach Nate Hawkins. https://m.soundcloud.com/kurtgook/hawk
  3. One player wont make us front runner we graduated 11 starters on offense and 9 on defense. We return starting DE Jordan Mitchel , Adam Guth who was the punter and started about half the season at DB and was in the rotation at WR/TE and also return both kickers. Don't count us out but I imagine the Titans followed by Boonville are the favorites .
  4. Basically the HH schedule only has a few changes. Princeton and Boonville replace Forest Park and Pike Central and Jasper and Washington swap places from regular season opponent to scrimmage opponent and vice versa.
  5. Not Many options then as far as 3A South teams
  6. I threw the paper away and cant remember exact quote but Coach talked about the schedule in the JD. First he said no area options with the SIAC schools having no non-conference opponents he also said he would prefer to play a potential playoff opponent then cross the river and play Kentucky teams... That tells me they are still looking at options to replace either Tell City or North Posey in the future but probably couldn't find the right fit before the deadline to get the PAC schedules reworked. Just a guess but thinking Gibson was likely looking at potential teams to pick up before any new conference was finalized. I could see changes in 2021 or 2022 but not sure I agree with scheduling 3A opponents, Never been a big fan of playing teams twice but seems most coaches like it. Could a HH - Brownstown regular season game be in the future ??
  7. Heritage Hills survived a scare in the home opener against a much improved North Posey basketball team. The Patriots played their 2nd straight game without star Murray Becher and 3rd without backup Mark Doyle the Vikings were also missing a key player in Johnathon Ricketts. After one quarter it was tied 17-17, at halftime Posey led 31-30, After 3 Posey led 50-37, after 4 it was tied 61-61 and the final Heritage Hills 75 North Posey 67 in one overtime. Patriots were ice cold from the freethrow line to start the game but hit their last 14 or so straight to seal the comeback. Sisley carried the team in the first half and Sigler and scherry carried them in the 4th quarter and overtime. The Vikings solid guard play was a big factor in the Patriots only having 37 points after 3 quarters, Patriots score a bunch off of transaction from turnovers. In the 4th the Patriots picked up the defensive pressure . I believe in the 4th we changed up the defender on Ricketts as well switching from Sigler to Scherry . Free throws North Posey 12 of 16 Heritage Hills 20 of 27. HH scoring Scherry 25 Sisley 24 Sigler 17 ( career high ) Johnson 5 Kryzkowski 4 NP scoring Ricketts 27 Allyn 16 Wunderlich 14 Bender 5 Koester 4 Wahl 3 @Bcaster Anything to add ??
  8. The SIAC all-conference includes all conference teams and is the official SIAC All conference just like the PAC conference is for the PAC and the Evansville Courier All Metro is something that the newspaper does that has nothing to do with the SIAC team. The Newspaper has 2 teams All Metro and All Area and neither are affiliated with the actual conferences.
  9. Game was tight in the first half and Heritage Hills led 17-14 after the first quarter and 38-37 at halftime and took control in the 2nd half. Patriots scored the first 24 points of the 2nd half and outscored the Bears 32-3 in the 3rd quarter to increase their lead to 70-40 after 3 and the final score was Patriots 89 Bears 59. Patriots committed 17 fouls and the Bears 15 fouls. Patriots were 11 of 18 from the free throw line and the Bears 8 of 18. Heritage Hills scoring Sisley 23 Becher 21 Scherry 18 ( Scherry passed 700 career points tonight. ) Sigler 14 Johnson 8 ( first varsity points.) Kryzkowski 3 ( first varsity points.) Schaeffer 2 ( first varsity points.) Central scoring Banks 17 Windle 13 Brown 9 Madison 6 Byrd 5 Bosecker 3 Barnes 3 Morris 2 Joiner 1 How about the play of Cole Sigler tonight ? Just 8 days ago he was playing in the state football finals and just barely had enough practices to play tonight but I had him 5 out of 6 from the field including 3 out of 4 from 3 point range and hit his only free throw for 14 points
  10. All Conference, All City and All Metro are 3 separate teams,
  11. Could be wrong but guessing Jasper and Lincoln will still be on the area team as well as Perry Central. Cant see them including those schools in the All Metro team unless they change the name.
  12. I was looking at the top teams in the extreme Southwestern part of the state basically SIAC, Big Eight and PAC and if you used the success formula giving 4 points for state, 3 for semi, 2 for Reg and 1 for Sec the top teams in this area in order would be in order . 1.Mater Dei 2.Memorial 3.Jasper 4.Heritage Hills 5.Reitz 6.Castle 7.Southridge I'm too lazy to check the top 25 statewide using that formula.
  13. One final thought on this Patriot Senior class who went 24-2 their Junior and Senior season running the ball about 90% of the time, Every week they faced 7 or 8 in the box and yet Chatard was the first team to hold them to under 200 rushing yards this season. Biggest difference Chatard was not only strong up front but the overall team speed was off the chart and they were able take away our biggest weapon Cole Siglers speed... They beat us the way we have been beating teams all season by forcing turnovers, Winning special teams and a dominating run game. 1 loss to a better team takes nothing away from what this team accomplished and all of Patriot nation was is proud of what this team has accomplished. On to basketball season and the Patriots should have another State contender.
  14. Best moment of the night was seeing number 6 enter the game on the Patriots final drive, Tore MCL early in the 2nd round sectional game against Gibson and worked his but off in rehab to be able to dress for state. One carrie for 4 yards and was able to get off the 499 season rushing yard total he was stuck on since week 11.
  15. 1st congatulations to Chatard we lost to a better team 2nd great season Patriots
  16. Everyone have a great Thanksgiving I'm going to try to resist reading anymore of this until after the game or at least halftime at Lucas.
  17. Where do you get 45-0 ? to figure Sagarin you subtract the predictors and add home field advantage Sagarin had Chatard favored by 3 touchdowns If you use overall rating numbers instead of predictor its still 3 touchdowns. Personally I could care less just pointing out Sagarins prediction is 3 tds not 35 points like John Harrell To make predictions for upcoming games, simply compare the RATINGS of the teams in question and allow an ADDITIONAL 2 points for the home team. Thus, for example, a HOME team with a rating of 92 would be favored by 5 points over a VISITING team having a rating of 90. Or a VISITING team with a rating of 89 would be favored by 7 points over a HOME team having a rating of 79.
  18. First I know Chatard is a huge favorite and HH will need to play their best game and wont make a prediction but Sagarin doesn't make score predictions the 45-10 is John Harrel and John has made it known that he uses his own formula not Sagarins. Sagarin has Chatard with predictor of 100.53 and Heritage Hills predictor of 79.04 subtract and neutral site you get the Trojans favored by 21.49 according to Sagarin.
  19. No reason to clutter the page up with a new thread so I will post this here. This is the 8th meeting between Heritage Hills and Chatard and the Trojans lead the series 6-1. Chatard was ranked number 1 and Heritage Hills number 2 in the final regular season IFCA and AP polls. Sagarin power poll has Chatard ranked 6th in the state all classes and Heritage Hills ranked 29th all classes. Through 14 games Chatard is averaging 44.0 ppg and giving up 12.2 ppg and the Patriots are averaging 39.0 ppg and giving up 6.9 ppg. The first meeting between these 2 schools was in the 1997 Regional, The next 6 meetings were in the South Semi State and this will be the first meeting in the state finals. Heritage Hills lone victory in the series came in 2004, The Trojans came into that game as a heavy favorite and were the 3 time defending 3A state champs winning the title the previous 3 seasons. In that game Chatard led 10-0 after the first quarter, Heritage Hills added a Jace Morrison field goal in the 2nd quarter and trailed 10-3 at halftime .The Patriots had a long clock killing drive in the 3rd quarter and tied it up with 2:29 remaining in the 3rd on a Bryce Pund 2-yard touchdown run. Neither team was able to muster much offense in the 4th quarter before Jace Morrison kicked a 38-yard field goal with 8.3 seconds left to seal the victory, At the time HH was the only public school to defeat both Chatard and Roncalli in the 3A playoffs. Series 1997 Indianapolis Chatard 24 Heritage Hills 21 2001 Indianapolis Chatard 34 Heritage Hills 14 2002 Indianapolis Chatard 35 Heritage Hills 28 2003 Indy Chatard 24 Heritage Hills 3 2004 Heritage Hills 13 Indianapolis Chatard 10 2005 Indianapolis Chatard 21 Heritage Hills 20 Overtime 2007 Indianapolis Chatard 28 Heritage Hills 17
  20. First off the Danville receiving crew was unreal by far the best group of receivers I've seen this season.. We hear a lot about the Patriots playing so many two-way starters but against Southridge in regular season, Lawrenceburg last week and tonight the Patriots broke open tight games in the 2nd half and against Gibson in sectional dominated the final 6 minutes. Maybe the key to advancing to state is playing almost all road games 2000, 2004 and 2019 HH played 1st round sectional, 2nd round sectional, regional and Semi State all on the road. that's 12 road games and 3 home games combined before State in the 3 seasons they made it to the big show.
  21. Wow got ugly fast after I went to bed. I respect the heck out of Danville great program great tradition and looking at the teams they lost to and all close losses and that scares me but at same time Gibson Southern , Lawrenceburg, Southridge are all had great football teams this season , Jasper and Mount Vernon were good as well but not the degree of the other three. Also can throw in Forest Park and Tell City even though not state caliper had solid teams.. Off to work so I wont be reading this anymore before the game tonight.
