    Hello all,

I feel as nobody on here has ever given any insight into the JC program. I always see the they don’t belong in the HHC they need to move conferences, but it’s never going to happen. Plus it’s not true JC has plenty of potential to field a team that can compete with New Albany, Floyd, BNL, East, etc. I was a former player on the 2015-2016 team and we showed we can be a winning program, but there are some factors in my opinion that hamper the program such as high coaching turnover my senior year we were on head coach number 3.

I actually agree with you. And that team you had was pretty solid.

  2. I’m not in the pick em, because I’m not consistent enough, but I’ll give some analysis.

BNL/Jeff-I think Jeffersonville will take this one. They aren’t a great team. But they aren’t bad either. And at home they won’t be a pushover. I love their RB. He’s a load to handle.

Floyd/Silver Creek-This will probably be a competitive game. Floyd Central looks better despite the final results the past 2 weeks against 2 teams they really have no business playing. They have a size advantage over Creek. No word on how long Bernardi will be out. So Cody Bibelhauser will carry the ball. Floyd Central actually moved the ball against Male and Manual. But made too many mistakes inside the 20 and 30 yard lines. Robertson is capable of 200-300 yard games going forward. I think FC gets this one.

East/Seymour-This one is hard. Because I think Seymour is a pretty decent team. East hasn’t looked good. Their opponents were both very good programs. But I don’t know if East can muster much offense right now? I watched their game on YouTube with North last weekend. Defensively they’ll be fine in the HHC. I’d say East will win an ugly game. Their defense will win this game.

NA/JC-JC had a blowout win over Brown County. NA really hasn’t looked very good. They also struggle offensively. I’m going to pick Jennings County in a suprise early season upset over New Albany.

If East doesn’t make some changes with guys in key positions on offense any touchdown we score will be an accident

I can only speak for my team. We have some good pieces but there is still plenty of work to be done. We are down our top 2 Running Backs, and not having Bernardi is a massive blow. I do know that Floyd Central is done playing Male and Manual. The bad News is they’re playing Louisville St X next season and they’re actually better then those other two. But they’re playing Terra Haute South which is much closer to our level.

    Final Scores

Jennings County 46, Brown County 6

Gibson Southern 45, New Albany 7

Is Jennings County good, or is Brown County that bad?

  4. Floyd Central is starting to wear down. Playing a lot of guys both ways. Manual has about 80 players on Varsity. Their depth is ridiculous. Bragg needs to stop playing these teams. This is insanity.

    Columbus North - 10

    Columbus East - 6

Halftime... Fogarty's post pretty much sums up CE right now. I expect CE to fare much better in the HHC, but against 2 teams that are large (Whiteland is gigantic) it just seems like the offense can't do much.

That’s how I feel about Floyd. They can win most of their HHC games. Two top 5 teams in Kentucky, nope.

  5. I have 2 bold takes for tonight. Keep in mind that I could definitely end up wrong because these are “bold” takes. Lol.

I can see Jeffersonville beating Seymour. Seymour is the obvious favorite here. But Jeffersonville is intriguing since I’ve learned more about them. Their young OL is huge. They’re about 6-5 270 across the board or something like that. Their RB is 5”11 220 and he has some speed. I think they’ll suprise some teams.

Also, it would not shock me, if FC could end up with a respectable score against Louisville Manual. The Male score didn’t look good, but that game was a lot more competitive then the final score. A 2 or 3 play difference and that game ends up like 35-21 or something like that. Floyd is going to get a decent amount of Ws this year.

Wiegleb was really solid. He’s held in high regard around here.

I played for him as well. His 1998 team was his best team. They lost in the Regional in a close game to Cathedral. His 2001 team was really good but lost to state champion Jasper. In 2003 they won the HHC but lost in Sectionals to Curtis Painter and Vincennes Lincoln. Wiegleb retired, and he turned it over to his OC and things went really south untill Glesing put them back on decent footing.

East had strong years in the late 70’s early 80’s. Jeff used to be a lot stronger football program. 70’s and 80’s Jeff was a solid program, back in the Patterson days. Even under Ware early in his career Jeff was a program you had to deal with. Jeff has had a LOT lean years since. East had some lean years at the end of Stafford’s tenure. FC back in the day was usually solid, occasionally having a good year. Towards the end of the Weigleb tenure obviously during the ensuing years things went south. New Albany has been in a perpetual state of rebuilding for as long as I can remember. I can recall two decent teams in the years I’ve been around, other than that a lot of .500 or sub .500 seasons.

Wiegleb was really solid. He’s held in high regard around here.

Yeah that’s exactly the number of students Columbus High School would have if it had never split in 1972.

Yeah they’d be ridiculous as well.

I feel like BNL is right there with them. I’ll need to research it though. Probably going to add up every team’s conference wins and losses to rank each school by winning percentage. I’ll probably also add up their final position in the standings each year and divide it by the number of years in the HHC to find the average. Those stats will reveal the HHC hierarchy.

I’ve basically done it. It’s like East, Jeffersonville, Floyd Central. In that order.

Just realized there’s a typo on here. East has won 26 HHC championships, not 24.

It’s pretty evident that Columbus East has been the class of the HHC. Definitely the most dominant. Floyd Central and Jeffersonville have been the next 2 best programs in the HHC historically.

I think more of a possibility than Silver Creek joint the HHC is Jeff, FC, and New Albany leave HHC to form a conference with a growing Charlestown and Silver Creek

I don’t like that Idea. I like playing teams North of us. It’s fun to go to Seymour, Bedford, Columbus, and North Vernon. I’m just an old school Indiana guy who enjoys the state I guess.

Here is the week 2 schedule. The good news is an HHC team is going to get a win this week…as long as Jeffersonville doesn’t cancel their game again.

I think Floyd Central is done playing Male and Manual after this season. Manual isn’t as good as Male but they’re still pretty good. Like Whiteland good. We should be at least a 3 TD underdog.

East’s offend e was abysmal in the second half.  I think 4 three and outs and one first down before the final drive when they essentially ran out the clock.  East defense wore down due to being on the field the entire half and Whitelands massive o line

Well look at it this way. The whole HHC had a bad night. There is a lot of work to be done with all these programs.

  13. Male beats FC 42-7. I thought Floyd held in pretty good for 2.5 qtrs. 2 bad onside kicks led to some easy points. Threw an INT inside Males 20. Threw a pick sick close to the Redzone. After gaining 7 yards last year, Floyd had about 200 in this game. Still need to work on some stuff but should be a team that can win 5-7 games.

I’m going to stick with my stance that the HHC won’t fair well outside conference. But the games inside the conference will be competitive.
