Well, I guess the jury will be out until November, for this team. Hope they snap back into contention.

Been to the Final Four the last two years. They've been "in contention".

Jason's a fantastic guy. Nice interview. We'll see what the Giants have in a little over a week. If it's not the toughest schedule in the state, it's in the top 5.

An HCC AD has confirmed that two MIC member schools have reached out to the HCC to gauge interest.

Stranger things have happened. I'll be interested to see the developments with this. For Carmel, I suppose it makes sense from a gate standpoint. Having a football schedule with Fishers, HSE, Westfield, and Noblesville on your schedule would renew old rivalries. I've just never heard those rumblings from that direction.

    Center Grove...I can see that.

The Lawrences moving as a pair...I could see that.

The MIC has had six core teams since 1996, that's a long time in this day and age.

This is a real thing in WV... this has been going on for the past several months. I would like everyone to weigh in on this topic. It is easy to swoop down from the hills over a practice field.

With the amount of video that is available, why would anyone need to spy on anyone else. Granted, you don't get practice video on someone, but, with Hudl, etc. Why would you need such nonsense and tomfoolery?

  5. Very sad news from the Center Grove community as longtime PA Announcer Jason Mueller has passed away after a long and tough battle with cancer. He was a great announcer, teacher, and father. Condolences to his family and friends. Rest in Peace, sir.

I don’t understand what it has to do with throwing other coaches under the bus.  Obviously these guys are all “good coaches” as their administration have hired them to lead their programs.  Why is it so controversial to have a real conversation?

I’m not saying Simmons is not a “good coach” but where would he fall within the MIC/central Indy if your favorite team were drafting a coach?

The resumes of Kirschner, Moore and O’Shea and Hebert blow him away as do those of his two Hendricks County rivals.

It’s still too soon to make broad judgments as he still has time and I firmly believe you can wipe away 2020 but he’d better start winning soon.  .500 seasons will never cut it (nor should they) at BD.

Why would I start naming other programs? If I say well, BD has the advantage in coaching vs. X Team. Then that's a subjective judgement. I'm not familiar with what goes on exactly at all the other programs in the MIC. I'm not 100 percent sure what, for example, LC is fighting right now. You want to start a tit-for-tat, hot take back-and-forth that would force me to start throwing other programs under the bus, and I refuse to do it. Why make our guy look better by trashing someone else?

All I know is that the last two years the Giants were left for dead, and they ended up in the Semi-State pulling upsets both years to do it. In 2019, they were Co-MIC Champs. I've got nothing else to say about that. You can have your opinions, but I'm not going to participate in your exercise.

Just don’t see it with Simmons.  Sorry.

    Great guy.

Find me a game on BD’s schedule where you can confidently say they have the advantage in coaching.

    Talent?  Sure.  But COACHING?

People used to say the same thing about Mike Kirschner...until he won two State Championships. It may not be evident to you, but Jason is a good football coach. I'm not going to throw other coaches under the bus so that we can play hot take Thursday.

Several coaches have made the comment, "unless youre Center Grove, you have to play The MIC twice to win state in 6A."

Well, they'll likely see a MIC team in Regional and Semi-State too.

Main reason I’m predicting a slightly above .500 campaign for the Giants.

All depends on the start of the season. The MIC, other than Center Grove, is pretty much within hailing distance of each other for 2-3-4-5. I think Carmel, BD, Warren, LN, and NC are all right there in no particular order. Pike is coming on fast, too. I think you could see anywhere from 8-1 to 4-5 without the team being that bad this year. The Sectional is what it is, so you play it out. There have been years where BD had to pick its way through a loaded field, too.
